I am an artist with a style that has a strong bias in line and color, and who paints with a loose and intuitive approach. I work in abstraction and a stylised form of representative art, choosing figures, flowers, faces and architecture as my subject matter. This channel I hope is both informative and inspirational.

How to create a city street scene on canvas with acrylics. Full video.
I discovered the Chinese supermarket in the town I’m staying has a surprisingly well stocked art supply section, and well priced. I found these cool Sennelier Abstract 3D Line Acrylic pens, for under 3 euros each, and grabbed a bunch to try out. The canvas here is 50 x 40 cm.
I came to paint a beach scene in Espinho, a beautiful long beached coastal town in Portugal, arriving late in the afternoon, to try get ‘shadow light’, but the coastal wind was too heavy to set up a light easel. So after a quick dip in the cold water, I drove back realizing soon the light would be gone, so I made a quick stop at the historic municipal building of the town to paint a scene from imagination. HOW TO PAINT A FACE WITH CHARACTER AND IN YOUR PERSONAL STYLE
Просмотров 1 тыс.21 час назад
I show the whole process of making a few starts, painting over and improving until a unique portrait emerges. I emphasize achieving a personal style by hard work, making many layers until your voice emerges. My work is typified by a strong black line, and strong colors, this is due partly to being influenced by certain painters and loving comic books growing up, but equally due to my upbringing...
Painting a delivery guy in Procreate
Просмотров 30Месяц назад
Here I start very organically with large loose shapes and washes, just using basic brushes in Procreate, just feeling out the basic shapes, and getting an idea where light and dark shapes are, and then start to enhance different areas, and then finishing with little enhancements and a few judicious highlights. allenwittert Original paintings are available on www.allenwittert.com C...
How to draw faces

This is how I enjoy drawing; finding the lines that feel right, leaving in the searching scratchy lines, then emphasizing the ones that best describe the form I’m working on. The watercolour is similar, though here, I have to be a bit more decisive or it’s a mess. Trick is to use limited colors and keep a range of light to dark so it’s not just made up of one tone. See more original artwork on ...

How I create faces with character.

This is a start to finish demonstration of just one of the ways one can sketch and paint a face. I'm an artist with an advertising illustration background, so I'm used to drawing faces for advertising products.. But over the years I started to want to express myself in acrylic paint on canvas, so I have made many abstract figure paintings of mostly women. It's endlessly fascinating what one can...
Painting tutorial- A method to draw and paint a face in your own style.

A short tutorial, first drawing in Tombow pen, then giving the dissolving ink a watercolor wash, and picking out lighter areas with a damp brush. You can get some nice unpredictable things happening as you progress. I used a A5 Bockingford watercolor pad. Please leave a comment and join me for more.
How to paint a abstract face in acrylics

A short tutorial, taking a watercolor sketch and using it as an under layer to go a bit crazy with some acrylic paint colors. Using a palette knife and a brush and whatever colors you like, you might want to give it a go and see how enjoyable it can be.
How I draw and paint a man’s head in ink and paint ; Try it in your style
Просмотров 8383 месяца назад
A demonstration of how I painted this guys head, made it into a fun 8 x 8 " head and shoulder painting. Done in Tombow ink and watercolor, with a lot of acrylic paint added. It was a lot of fun and I encourage you to mess around with a drawing and do one of your own. Draw the face loose and use plenty of circular searching lines, light in tone, then darken the ones you like more. This gives you...
How to draw a woman’s face

Drawing tutorial, a little comic book/ cartoony in flavor ; here’s a pen and ink wash demonstration of how I go about quickly drawing or constructing a womans face, start to finish. Making use of lightly drawn ovals and then strengthening them. She’s in a club with some people behind her. The whole process takes about five minutes, and I hope it inspires you to give it a go. I’m using a Tombow ...

How to paint most anything in your personal style. Well, the tried and true method if you’re teaching yourself has always been to keep drawing, painting and learn by copying the work of people you like, get comfortable with their techniques by repetition, and then naturally, your own style will emerge because I promise you as you get better, you won’t be happy making replicas of other artists w...
How to paint an abstract flower painting
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 месяца назад
Join me on this journey, where I start painting over something not knowing what will come out of it. I used the under painting of a portriat I started to launch off of, and arrrived at an abstract painting, in which I then saw had flowers in a vase possibilities, so I enhanced that idea. It's all about seeing shapes, and making them interesting to hold the viewers attention, using the usual thi...

Hello sir what brush pans are those
Very pretty!
I like this! I am glad I subscribed to your channel.
I bought some of these the other day and am realizing it is a learning curve to use them, but it is worth it. Thank you for giving me another idea. This is great!
Awesome!
Thanks Robert!
I liked this very much...amazing freedom!
Thanks Ruby, I appreciate your comment very much too!
Would you please share what you used to sketch the drawing out with? What brand?
Mike, yes, thanks for asking. They are Sennelier Abstract 3D Line Innovative Acrylic . Link included above too.
@@Freeformax thanks so much! I really enjoy your videos.
Great job! Love your style.

j'adore la fluidité avec laquelle vous peignez et toutes vos couleurs vibrantes ...bravo pour votre travail ...trés inspirant ...merci
I like your palette! Would this be cubism? I think I might try this style with a still life at some point
Very nice. Thanks for not painting from a photograph. I'm so tired of people copying photographs and talking about art like they are some kind of artistic genius. It's really embarrassing.
Your painting is beautiful. Great talent.
Thank you so much 😀
I like her. She is one of a kind. I am also this way. Everyone is one of a kind. Thank you for showing it to us. 1000000Likes. Blessings.
Thanks so much for that, yes, we are.
Amazing such and inspiring video for me you paint in my style
Thanks Brian.. I will check out your work fer sure😊
I love your process and how laid back you are! It’s inspiring to keep plugging along learning to paint abstract!
Found you 3 hs ago and can not stop watching. Thank you very much.
brilliant! Wish I did it! haha. Lesley ✨️ Bribie Island QLD
Thanks Lesley, lol well, try your hand you might surprise yourself. :))
I love this! I find myself laboring for far too long when it comes to painting and drawing faces in particular. I work at it to try to make it look as realistic as possible. Btw what kind of pen are you using to draw the sketch? It looks like a Tombow but I'm not sure since it doesn't seem to run.
Thank you for your comments. Yes it’s a Tombow, a little dry so that helps it not bleed too much. Also when I draw on a good watercolor paper, it won’t run as much as on a smooth surface. But the idea is to use more paint less water, in parts, and you can always draw over it when dry. Really just practice. Tombow is just convenient but it can lead to muddy finishes so you need to work over it and sometimes scrub that paint in.
Thank you so much for all the great info! I appreciate it!
Beautiful piece.
Thank you @rk!
I really like this! So pretty colors.
Thanks for a great demo 😊
Love the way you use that splayed brush.
Do you know the work of Felix Scheinberger? You’d like his art.
I’m sure your following is going to bloom, Allen. You have considerable skills! I would like to develop such freedom. I also appreciate that you have interesting music/always something different there, too.
Very entertaining to watch you work. You know anatomy.👍
Wow. I love it at about the 2:00 minute range. But isn’t it so fun to PAINT! But wait. The woman appears. Fantastic! The tiny bits of white you leave are all-important. You are really good! Thank you!
Thanks for modeling freedom of expression.
Your exploratory approach is encouraging & admirable.Thanks. Carry on!
very inspirational and I love the thought when you said you can always paint over the spot !!
Woooaw, I love this🥰 Thank you!
Love your painting
Charming!
That was so inspiring and fun to watch. Thank you for sharing that
Fantastic!

❤❤❤
Fascinating to watch how the painting develops! Well done!
Thanks Vicki!
Dry cool🙌😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is so great, I have been working on semi-realistic portraits for so long, that I don't know if I could imagine or think in shapes, colors and lines like you do, thank you, MSG Leum
That’s a great comment.. because it just confirms our use of color / portraits/ art is truly subjective and can be realistic, semi realistic, abstract and I think if you ever wanted to change things up, I’m pretty sure you could it’s just.. do you want to? :)) or are you happy with how you paint and your journey? That’s the only thing that matters. Isn’t it really?
That is beautiful! Thanks for sharing how you made it! (I am using my collage papers for creating abstract flowers...) Very beautiful colors you used!
Thank you Ellen. I’m sure you’re doing some interesting work, collage papers for flowers I can see being used in many ways.
Love this
Thank you @sman :))
I love, love, love That! Lesley .Bribie Island 🏝
Thanks Lesley, it's good when any art lifts anyones spirit, makes life less ordinary.
great art keep creating!
Thank you so much 😀. Appreciate the comment.
How do you get over feeling like everything you do is junk and not even worth giving to my mom?
My only suggestion is don't think about who you're doing anything you enjoy for.. Only do it because you feel you want to. so don't stop, I'm sure it will lead on to better work.:}
@@FreeformaxThat is great advice! And I would add ...have you ever SHOWN MOM? I am sure she would be THRILLED to have a painting from you. Please do not be so hard on yourself, we all can improve but have fun DOING IT and LET OTHERS enjoy it also!
I love this piece!
Thanks Ruby!
Nice!!!
Thank you Samuel!
This is great! I could watch more/longer frankly...it is relaxing!❤
Glad you enjoyed it! will do. Thats a nice encouraging comment, because I do edit out so much of it as theres times when I don't apply paint and just look.
Your style is wonderful. I think they're great drawings❤
Thank you Samahra !
I really like the whimsy of your work. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for that comment Sankaodell!
