(moonrise) shadowsightis that you???!?!?!?!

I'm from Germany and can tell, who the cats on the covers are. Midnight is Brambleclaw, Moonrise is Feathertail, Dawn... I actually don't know. Starlight (damn I just finished this book, I hate it) is Leafpool, Twighlight is probably Cinderpelt, but the green color sceme makes it hard to say, and Sunset... I GENUINELY don't know. Hawkfrost is brown, Firestar makes no reason, why should he randomly appear on the cover, and Brambleclaw is also brown

I think the first three books of Dawn of the Clans are some of the best warriors books. The last three however......are some of the worst.

alrighty time to break out the ranking first a note though: im very heavily influenced by what my favourite books are, (the last hope, a light in the mist, forest of secrets, etc) so this is more “which series has the best high point” 1: the broken code, as i said in the note, a light in the mist is one of my favourite books, and my favourite main series book (my entire top 5 is super editions but alitm is 7th place), part of why i love it so much is that it actually left an impact on me. i fucking cried. i LOVED bristlefrost so much and her end just hurts even now that im thinking back on it, besides alitm the rest of the series is like fine i guess, if alitm is a 10/10 the rest of the series is a 6/10 imposter was kinda obvious (though i will admit i wasn’t entirely sure until good ‘ol moonkitti made a funny video about the imposter and it became insanely obvious) oh and the other POV’s sure did exist, i legit had to sit and think for a solid 20 seconds on who the other pov was cause i forgot shadowsight was there 2: the prophecy’s begin, its the classic series, though the first book i actually read was the sight, not into the wild so i dont have that same nostalgia factor about it, but like there is a reason its so high on everybody’s lists, as i said i really like forest of secrets, not much i can actually say beyond that without repeating everybody else ok i was gonna keep on with the numbered ranking until i realized all the middle spots blend together so imma just go over them in release order: power of three, as i said i started with the sight, but besides the jayfeather chapters theres nothing interesting about these books, i guess lionpaw being like “i cant enjoy honey” was funny omen of the stars, another as i said is that i really like the last hope, but besides that the other books are also super meh, jayfeather is still jayfeather so thats good, and ivypool in the first half was good, but i feel like she got kinda pushed aside after she got the role of a spy, like i know it wouldn’t go like i imagine it would but like imagine a evil POV character, or even just “bad but saved by power of love” type thing dawn of the clans, honestly i remember enjoying the books, but thats all i remember, the entire series has this problem where i just cant get myself to sit down and reread them, if i want a largely disconnected story from the rest of the books i’d just read skyclans destiny i didnt know where to add this so im putting it here: a starless clan, i havent read it, but from what ive gathered from youtube, seems pretty good, might be refreshing if i go and read it now back to number ranking for the bottom 2 6: the new prophecy, so remember how i said im ranking this based on the high points kinda, ya the new prophecy’s high point is the final book, and only during the climax with firestar in the trap, i feel like hawkfrost was a super wasted character while he was alive (redeemed himself for how good he was in death though) like hawkfrost doesnt invoke fear in me, theres no “whats this dude plotting” type feelings, heck he barely did anything notable besides fake a sign and almost kill fireman and yet somehow he gets one of the most gruesome deaths, the rest of the series and the rest of the final book are just so mediocre, like 3/10 territory but hey, atleast i remember stuff about it 7: a vision of shadows, obvious choice i know, but its not because if any bad plot decisions or character writing, I WOULD HAVE TO REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENS IN IT TO HAVE ANY OPINIONS ON THAT, like god besides his name and the communism thing i remember nothing about darktail, before watching this video i was gonna make a ranking but i legit couldn’t remember anything about avos so i ditched that, watched the video and got a refresher on the series, its just so forgettable honourable mention: super editions and novella’s, as i said my entire top 5 is super editions (crookedstar, tallstar, bluestar, skyclan, bramblestar), so if you could count super editions as a series then it would be #1, meanwhile the novella’s sure do exist, like lets bereal besides mapleshade and spottedleaf does anybody even care about the novella’s?

here’s my list, feel free to debate !! if i remember i’ll maybe add a starless clan once it finishes 1. Prophecies begin. yeahhhh i don’t need to explain. i’ll always remember lil 9 year old me going “wow cool cat books!!!!! i love firepaw!!!!!!111!!1” 2. a vision of shadows. Alright, hear me out- the first three books were GOLD, darktail was interesting to read about, needletail and violetshine had a friendship unlike anything else in all the books, and alderheart has won me over as one of warriors’ most relatable characters to me. i AGREE the latter half could be better, but twigbranch was actually SUPER INTERESTING as a character and kept me reading. she had multiple character arcs including wondering which clan she belongs in, feeling the need to catch up after restarting her apprenticeship like three times, standing up for herself about not wanting kits, and dealing with flywhisker as a difficult apprentice. violetshine had interesting dynamics with needle & later with tree but other than that is super forgettable. alderheart and twigbranch have got to be some of my favorite protags though 3. the broken code. it’s very different from the rest of the books, and it’s just… good. what else can i say? I like rootspring, he’s another fav protagonist of mine, and it was fun to see ashfur come back as a familiar villain. it feels like a fanfic (in a good way) 4. dawn of the clans. i ADMIT i didn’t even read dotc lol, just mainly looked at all the spoilers n stuff online. but it’s interesting! not my favorite, but i see why other people like it a lot. graywing and slate were a neat romance, and i absolutely love windrunner/windstar (but i may be biased considering mothflight’s super edition is my favorite. shocking, right?!) 5. the new prophecy. the back half of the books were super boring, but cinderpelt’s death left me WRECKED the first time i read it. i love cinderpelt sm and was just in utter shock. meanwhile in the first half, the cats making the journey was really fun to read. they were just kinda like,,, a friendgroup, ya know ?? 6. power of three. this and omen of the stars are almost tied for last place, but i’m putting power of three a tier up because the OG three are some of the most memorable in the entire series (even if i don’t like lionblaze that much-). They’re all just iconic in the fandom as well as the infamous fire scene. Yes, this was an objectively bad arc, but it’s also iconic. 7. omen of the stars. OOTS and POT are basically just one big arc connected with each other imo. i feel like dovewing suffered from Boring Female Protagonist Syndrome and ivypool in the dark forest wasn’t THAT interesting. jayfeather was okay and lionblaze was an NPC the entire time. but there were some interesting things like the dove/tiger romance, hollyleaf comin back, my amazing babie BRIARLIGHTTTTT and of course firestar was heartbreaking at the end. it truly was the end of an era… (and now they have bramblefart as leader aka my least favorite character. thank goodness that the girlboss squilf is leader now)

I kinda like the redesigns, I know they don’t have a whole lot of meaning behind them but they look clean and smooth, while the originals have a lot of meaning but they look a little weird, I always thought the box in the middle seemed a little clunky? If that’s the word for it. It didn’t look smooth like they were trying to throw two covers in one as if they needed two. (Though yes the redesigns look kinda goofy, I feel like they could’ve framed it better. Especially midnight, why do I need to see how wet his nose is lol) (double side note moonrise redesign absolutely sucks wtf)

We are not the same. 6: Rising Storm. Nothing really happens, then BOOM big fire, and then there's nothing again. ITS STILL GOOD. 5: Into the Wild. When I go back to this Book, the names sound pretty weird and unfamiliar, but it's still good 4: A dangerous Path. It's the scariest Book from this Ark, what I actually like, but Bluestar gets so annoying. 3: The darkest hour. A great final, with a great twist and a great battle. 2: Forest of Secrets. My favorite final from a Warriors Book. Cloudpaw is annoying, but overall its great. 1: Fire and Ice. Cinderpaw is introduced, who's my favorite Character, the actual only criticism is the final battle, wich is just... Bad, disappointing and random

my take on Tigerclaw for this is that since Firepaw is essentially us, we are learning clan life at the same pace as him, he see's things differently. he is an outsider's perspective as it were so he could pick up on Tigerclaw being evil before anyone else. this is helped by the fact that he was friends with Ravenpaw who was Tigerclaw's apprentice, but also Thunderclan KNOWS Tigerclaw. they grew up with him, mentored him, they KNOW HIM so that will also blind them to things that are the real him. to them he could not be evil. because how could he? he was born and raised in the clan, they know his entire history. but Firepaw does not. he is learning to trust them, he is learning from an outsider coming in who is trustworthy and who is not. Firepaw has no previous relationship or interaction with Tigerclaw, so he see's him as he is. also, Firepaw has also been very observant so i think that is something that has helped him as well. i haven't read the series in forever and i've really been meaning to because i am curious about how things are. I stopped reading like halfway through Omen of the Stars when i was in high school, so i really want to read through then and then read the rest of the series.

Why didn’t they make Moonpaw’s parents Nightheart and Sunbeam?? Would’ve been really cool! Plus they aren’t first cousins….

I’m pretty sure the reason why some cats don’t look the way they do like in the English books is because maybe they translated it wrong or it’s just their interpretation of the character. Like Hawkfrost being silver, some cats having different eyes, etc. Edit: personally, I really like seeing what certain cats look like and like the fact they aren’t always the same!

I really like your videos, this was pretty cool I feel like you don't know what the cats look like I mean the official art can make mistakes like calling the poland moonrise cat Stormfur when it is more likely to be Feathertail because Feathertail looks like her mother and Stormfur looks like his father and Stormfur has yellow eyes and the prophecy was that Feathertail was the silver cat and the tribe thought he looked silver and if a ginger cat has a single white paw that will always be Squirrelflight and it's not your fault and you are admit that you are unsure it just upsets me slightly Again, great video

I’m assuming the cat appearances may change on the covers because of some translation issues? I remember reading Spanish power of three books and jaypaw was described as black once or twice.

So the ukranian the new prophecy logos are actually silver, so I think it was because of the lighting it looked black on twilight.

For the polish cover for moonrise is feathertail because of her silver pelt like "the silver cat" prophecy, eventhough storm is the one important to this book, feathertail's death is more iconic, seeing that most of the Moonrise internationally covers have featheryail on them. But I understand you got stormdur and featheryail mix up, they are gray siblings and stormfur was also mistaken to be a silver cat by the tribe. (Also cinderpelt does have blue eyes, and you did a hood job of that :])

There is a tip to Identify which is the Taiwan Warriors book or the China Warriors book is to watch the text on the cover. "貓戰士" is Taiwan's and "猫武士" is China's.

I'm not into Warrior Cats anymore, but when I first saw the polish covers I knew I'd buy all the books just for the cover. I love them so much because they are artistic, realistic and differentiate the personalities, type of cat and all so well :D And the landscapes with their colours 😻 If you love this kind of style, polish covers are soo good. I also love the polish mistborn versions and there are quiet a few more book series that got this type of illustrated cover :D

I'm mad they straight up did so little research, its cool that shes a chimera! But they spread missinformation on chimeras, by insinuating the split face and different coloured eyes mean chimera, and its so wide spread you can basically only find split faces on google and the insinuated the missinformation to an entire community, the appearance is fine it can happen it doesn't matter at all a chimera cat could look completely normal or have a split face but the way they put it in text is sad and spreading missinformation. Basically I'm into genetics and I hate that I can't really even google for real chimera cats due to widespread missinformation and they just spread it more. It's so bad that the best example of a chimera cat like appearance is a cat named narnia with a black and gray split and hes literally a genetic mutation (proven by genetic testing) so also not even a chimera. Also the weirdos calling it a disability idk they're weird. If anyone wants to learn about real feline chimeraism look up "messybest chimera" thats the p much only good souce I could find.

Firestar is probably my favorite character in the entire series. A lot of people seem to think he's overrated but I personally think he's underrated because of how he's dismissed for being too good. Everyone seems to think he's a mary sue type character when that just isn't the case. Firestar isn't perfect and does plenty of wrong things. He mistreats Bramblepaw for being the son of Tigerclaw, is unable to move on from Spottedleaf which causes conflict with Sandstorm, mistreats Brambleclaw again when the fire and tiger prophecy happens and attacks Shadowclan over that strip of territory which leads to the death of Russetfur. Firestar is flawed, however despite these flaws he still tries to do the good thing and make things right. I think this is why he is my favorite character. Unlike all of the protagonists over the years Firestar stands out to me the most because he wants to do the right thing, always. He wants to help people. He has so many bad things happen to him over the course of his life yet through all that he still continues to stay true to himself and do the right thing. He is like the superman of the warriors world. Thank you for the good video man.

I love your videos man!! I really don't get how you don't get more views I've been a fan of warriors for years now, and I love these type of Analysis videos of characters so much so this is a treat. Are we gonna get these type of character profiles on villians too at some point!?

me personally the first time we had a medicine cat protagonist (cinderpaw) it was AMAZING and I thought it was super sweet bc she got injured and stuff. But after that it was just.. bland, since we already had it. The writers kind of milked medicine cat protagonists and idk it was annoying

The "ebook" édition for France is not ebook. It's the pocket version, a smaller book. Also the translation words to words of the serie would be "The war of the Clans". I don't think there is any "Fire and ice" equivalent in french, like " Feu et glace" sound wrong. "Of fire and blood" is an expression that means something like damaged (physically/mentally/) by the war, or just "being victim of war atrocity."

Also I forgot to mention I say it is arc 5 due to the release date of the series, but you can make an argument for it being a spin off

Thank you for reiterating time and time again that generic doesn't mean bad. Nowadays, people avoid 'generic' characters like they have the plague. Or like it makes them a BAD character. But no, tropes and character archetypes ARE tropes and archetypes because people enjoy them. Because it works. Firestar may have been the generic underdog who finds his place and builds himself a life by trying to be a genuinely good and honorable cat, but it worked. It worked and he was memorable and readers rooted for him because he was compelling in spite of him being what people nowadays might say was too generic. Very good analysis overall. He was more complex than people give him credit for.

I‘m tired of medicine cats that can‘t understand prophecies, and have (almost)the same personality. Yeah Ik that we don‘t know most things of the ninth arc and Moonpaw yet, but from the information we got already, she just sounds like Shadowsight2.0
