There are a few scales used, e.g. minor, harmonic minor, major, minor blues. In terms of playing over music in a particular key, take lick 9 as an example. It is in the E minor scale, so if you try those notes (adjusting timing, phrasing etc to suit) over an E minor backing track it should sound good. Obviously it could be shifted up/down the fretboard to other minor keys. Also, if you try it on backing tracks that are described as "B Phrygian" it should work well there, maybe also "A Dorian". This website maps scales onto the fretboard: fretmap.app. So, continuing with above example, if you learn the pattern across the fretboard for E minor, what you find is that it is exactly the same as B Phrygian, A Dorian, etc.

What reverb?

Yeah it’s the RG652AHMFX-RPB. I think it’s a really good guitar. I bought it two years ago and even now it still feels great to pick it up and play. It was fairly expensive, but I decided to just get a high quality guitar vs multiple cheaper ones. I think if someone plays rock/metal guitar, doesn’t want a floating bridge, and is happy with the price point then they’d enjoy playing this model. But maybe I’m a bit biased as I’ve stuck with RGs since getting an RG550 many years ago.

Very happy with it. Had it for two years and still enjoy playing it as much as when I first got it. No big issues with it. It was set up well out of the box and stayed perfect for a long time, but I have a small issue now with intonation and also “string ping” while tuning that I need to fix or get fixed

I’m using 10-46 on this guitar. D’Addario XL EXL110-3D is the strings. On another guitar I use Hybrid Slinky (9-46).
