  • Guitar lick using sweep/economy picking and legato. Video includes on-screen tab and a slow play-through.
It starts with some sweep and economy picking on a B minor arpeggio. As this picking is only going across 2 or 3 strings it is fairly straightforward (much more so than a sweep picking lick / sequence I posted previously: • Sweep picking lick usi... ), but two things about it might be tricky:
    - Moving the index finger back and forth between G and e strings. An easier option might be to try to use the 2nd finger to play the 11th fret on the G string and the 3rd finger to play the 12th fret on the B string, but I’d not recommend this. It might work in this case, but in cases where you’d play this arpeggio shape from the A string it would not work, so I’d recommend to use the fingering as shown in the video.
    - After the two up-picked notes, it might be tricky to reverse and go back down. I used to struggle with that kind of thing, but eventually got the hang of it through taking this kind of 3 string arpeggio shape and just practicing with them.
Another thing to mention is the bend with the pinky. For anyone not using the pinky for bends before, it might feel weird. They key is to support the bend with the stronger fingers on the fretting hand. It’s only a 1/2 bend in this case, so not much force is needed. Just might take a little bit of practice to coordinate the movement and dial in the amount of force needed.
Audio recorded direct using a Helix LT.
