2022 - New York Fashion Week - Super 8 Film - Kodak Vision 3 500T
Back in September of 2022 I went to New York to shoot street style outside the shows during New York Fashion Week, something I've been doing for almost 10 years now. This time I brought a couple vintage 8mm cameras with me.
The following Super 8 footage was almost entirely shot in the rain outside Tommy Hilfiger's SS23 show. I shot this with the expectation it would turn out too dark or completely unusable. Yes it's messy, imperfect, and very random but that's why I love it. Shot on a 1966 Braun Nizo Super 8 camera using Kodak Vision 3 500T Film Stock. Edited in Adobe Premier.
Appearances by Kiwi Lee, Lisa Rinna, Kris Jenner, Kenny Edmonds aka: Baby Face, and Georgia Fowler at the end.

At the end of 2022, Jodi and I took a trip to Las Vegas to recreate a road trip we did back in 2018. This time around I took one of my Super 8 cameras. Unfortunately the weather was completely different and we experienced cloudy days and multiple snowstorms. One snowstorm in Sedona, Arizona almost killed us. This film is mostly driving footage. I found this film in 2021 at an auction in St. Catherines, Ontario. It was part of a large lot of film including some Kodak yellow boxes with an address pointing to a mining town in Sudbury, Ontario that no longer exists. This recording was the only 16mm reel in the lot, everything else was 8mm. The opening shot is a view from one of the roofs at the Royal York Hotel. It pans across the facade ...

This is a film from my personal family archives. After my Dad passed away in 2020 I found this film in a box under the stairs. My Mom, now 88 years old, told me he was given this film by her father on a trip to Germany in the 1980's. My Grandfather made many 8mm films but unfortunately almost all of them were lost due to a flood in the basement where they were stored for decades. This film is o...

    If the film is in chronological order, then the red sandstone bluff at 11:01 is probably Red Rock Canyon State Park near Ridgecrest, California. this is on Highway 14 which connects to 395 and Lone Pine.

    Alot of Neon Sign Night Footage was taken in Nashville. I shared your video with a local Nashville History Group and they confirmed the exact route the drivee took with business directories, maps and photos from the time period. I clipped the Nashville section of your video, did some slight editing, and shared it on my channel but included your details and a link to the entire footage and your channel, . Thank you so much for saving and sharing.

    From Orange County and Disneyland in Anaheim was of course much different then. It really was a magical place for kids and even adults. I know a lot of people say it was much cheaper back then, but you have to take into account monies made in the 60s. It wasn't expensive but it wasn't super cheap either. Crowds weren't an issue if I remember correctly, or maybe the excitement kept me from noticing. I still have books of tickets from back then shoved in a shoe box somewhere. For most of us who grew up in Orange County, this was a once a year thing, maybe twice counting Christmas. Disneyland during Christmas in the 60s was incredible. My parents would take us to Disneyland in the summer along with Knotts Berry Farm, another awesome place during the 60s in Buena Park. This wasn't counted as a vacation, but an outing that lasted a whole day. I remember sitting at the window of my bedroom watching the Disneyland fireworks over Bastanchury Hill in Fullerton. It was a great time to be a kid.

    I try and try to get into the minds of visitors to figure out why it wasn't as crowded. Was admission and a ticket book the same slice out of one's paycheck as today? sure they had no annual passes. This is before new Tomorrowland and Haunted Mansion and Pirates. I assume the NY world's fair is not yet over. Best reason I think the population of SoCal expanded many many X since then. Even with DCA Imagine if Walmart built 6 stores 2 in Ca and 4 in Fla and never ever built any more. Yep they'd be crowded. While other businesses keep building for extra population, Disney hasn't built a new park in 25 years.

    • @chrishintz1077
      @chrishintz1077 Месяц назад

      No room to expand, really. They had to take the massive parking lot for dca. The resort is more or less hemmed in. Victim (physically) of its own popularity. Even if disneyland forward project materialises, they’ll still be on the same existing footprint. Will be sacrificing expanses (parking lots) for rides. Nowhere to go but up.

    At 2:49 we see the Stagecoach ride in Disneyland. These operated only through 1959 when they were discontinued. The footage from Tomorrowland shows the original TWA Rocket from "Rocket To The Moon" and the Monsanto Hall of Chemistry. Circarama was a forerunner to Circlevision which debuted at Disneyland in 1967 with the New Tomorrowland section.
