    You could print some thin wall things that friction fit into the two pipes at the ends of each shelf for more safety. They would cover the sharp metal and prevent spools from falling off the end.

    I like those pipes so much and it makes sense for a single printer. Have you considered a simple conveyor belt?? I love the game Satisfactory and envision a belt for each row of printers to leads to a vertical pipe to the bucket. A simple 5v motor and either 3d print the belt or use rubber/fabric for the belt. Just a thought

    Yo macy! Love your vids. I got something you can do with the single spool. You're using petg right? It loves sucking in water and ruining prints so if you got a sunlu spool dryer they have it where it keeps it dry and also has an exit so you can run the spool directly from the unit. And it's kinda small. Maybe that'll. Be good for ya ;)

    Hey Macy! been watching for a little while now. Finally decided to bite the bullet and bought a Bambu A1 printer. Could you create a video on the steps you take for the shipping side of the business? Like what materials you order for packaging? (boxes, tape, paper and the air pillows) How doyou print shipping labels? Do you just drop all thepackages off at a UPS? and like the cost associated with keeping up with that many orders. It may be common sense lol just not to me i guess haha. I would like to start my adventure but im so unsure of what i need or should invest in before i were to open a "shop" TIA

    Use a 'master' PVC pipe set at a 30-degree angle to collect all the poop into a single box. Make a hole in the top of the PVC pipe to connect the chute extension. This way, you'll need less extension, reducing the weight, with the PVC pipe supporting part of it.

  • @dawn9340
    @dawn9340 2 дня назад

    You can monetize your poop by keeping it and melting it into silicone molds in an oven. There’s a video somewhere on here of a guy making a multicolor skull that way and it looks really cool.

    Side spool holder - I'm using one I found on printables by Engidahvs (the mount) and the spool holder is by HugoG, there is no noticeable flex in mine at all, but does require a little hardware (some 608 bearings) and optionally an m2 or m2.5 screw to secure the filament holder. I think I tried the one you used in the video and had the same issue, I didn't like the droop at all. Also these pair well with the "improved y-splitter" by Ed Johnson. Just search AMS No-Catch Y-Splitter... print the self-tap tester if you use this, ask me how I know! :)

    • @macymakes3d
      @macymakes3d 2 дня назад

      In bambu studio on the device tab, there's a small hexagon looking icon in between "guide" and "load". Click the hexagon icon and make sure AMS filament backup is selected. Then above your ams colors it should say in green "auto refill" and if you have 2 rolls of the same color and filament type it should allow you to roll out into the next roll.

    Since your printer rack is close to the wall, you can put some 2x4's between the main shelf supports and the wall. These can be a foot or so long or run a long 2x4 the length of the shelf. If you can attach them to a stud in the wall that's the best way. Use some washers and screws to secure the rack to the 2x4's. It's what I did and it prevents the entire shelf from moving with vibrations. I have some P1S's and some A1's. The P1S's really create a lot of vibration compared to the A1's. Also if you were looking for a solution to use filament that doesn't fit in the AMS, the A1's are that solution. Cheers!

    Hey Macy, we are all becoming big fans. You are very likable and sweet, which is why it’s a pleasure to follow your progress. I am a big fan of Shop Nation/3D Print Farm Academy. He is one impressive young man. I’m wondering if there are gaps between your boards or not. Perhaps if there is no gap and the edges touch, they will still transfer the vibration to each other. He has gaps between his. Perhaps I’m wrong. As for the spool holder and especially if you’re running PETG, you’re far better off running it from a filament dryer. You will not have any feeding issues and drying PETG is essential in getting good prints. BTW, if you have not tried it yet, the BAMBU PETG HF, runs at the speed of PLA and gives you perfect prints so long as it’s dried. Looking forward to your next video.

    • @macymakes3d
      @macymakes3d День назад

      Thanks for all the tips! I’ll check and see if I can add a slight gap to the boards and see if it helps :) and yes I’m definitely going to try to run a filament dryer for the single color printer setup. Sounds like the easiest option!

    I think I would consider adding 2 more brackets on the new racking (presuming there is a stud between each one you used)....I haven't seen how the brackets are designed, but it looks like you will get 20-25 rolls on it which is over 50lbs. Not sure I would trust that to 3 brackets, especially if they are PLA. Would hate to see a future video where you report that one came crashing down onto your shipping station, or even worse, onto you! Adding more just seems like cheap insurance.

    Hi Macy, great video!! I used the same units attached to the chute with magnets, issue I had was that the waste would jam up in that unit before even going into the tube. I created an open bin that tapers into a tube that I attached a paper mailing tube (cheap!) dropping into a large box (2 x1c). Works great as no jams or backups yet!

I went to my local thrift store and picked up a cheap toaster oven and it seems to work well. Although it's very time consuming and you really need to vent it outside. But it's kind of worth looking into. Some other people on RUclips have done it.

I ended up printing the AMS riser V2 which has slots on the sides to add accessories. I must say the spool holder on the side of that is solid. I even printed out the 608 bearings from a file on Maker world. This would also come in handy later for adding another AMS. It also has space to store the glass lid and 2 extra build plates.
