Could you possibly do a video on different 3D hacks? Zack Freedman has a video where he tells you how to do different 3D hacks like using it to print on a T-shirt,adding items to the 3D object in mid print to conceal it and adding mesh fabric to make 3D printed clothing/costumes. I'd love to actually see how easy these hacks really are. My favorite was the hidden treasure cube where you fill it up with coins or candy etc and then continue the print to seal it in. Then whoever you give it to has to bust it open like a pinata to get the prize inside. I just thought this would be interesting to watch and fun to do, plus you might find some new hacks or items to add to your roster of products you sell 😊😊 The video title is: 3D print t-shirts,holograms and more! 5 Easy (cursed) printing hacks.

TOUCHDOWN! Sounds like someone is happy busy! Keep up the great work. Going to steal that spider idea for my neighborhood kids...sorry it's a good idea!
It looks like your TPU did fine outside a dry box. I have too much humidity where I live and it absorbs too much moisture during a 3 hour print to do well outside a dry box. It's great to see a maker making money from their hobby. (I doubt that I will ever get to that point.)
I should've kept it in a dry box while printing, I just didn't think of it at the time since it was my first time using that material. It's humid here too and I had 2 fails right after due to moisture.
important to remember that high speed filaments like that also have MUCH less heat resistance, that's how they print fast. High speed PLA especially softens at like 45C vs normal 60-70 for example. Dont sacrifice quality for quantity if its something your customer "might" leave in the car or outside in the summer sun and then complains in reviews about.
1st, I made a joke about if you taught math for 6 yrs, you must have started when you were 12! LOL 2nd, thanks for the mention! I'm so honored to have air time in a Macy video! Always glad to offer any advice I can...small payback for all the inspiration you've given me. If I can get to 1/10th of where you are, I'd be thrilled! I do have 6 orders in the queue for the product I have designed...so ever so slowly! Finally, another amazing video! I always enjoy them so much!
Hahaha I’m glad I look younger than my actual age :) I started teaching at 22. And I had to give you a shoutout. You’ve been commenting since the start and I appreciate you being here!
Thanks, Macy. I really enjoy your videos. I’ve recently retired and I’m having a lot of fun printing with my FF Finder 3. I’ve also designed and printed a few things; nothing complicated. Im hoping to get a Bambu printer soon, maybe a P1P. I’ll keep watching! R
glow in the dark filaments are abrasive to the nozzle and extruder gear on the stock p1s. make sure you order the harden steel (bambu X1C) versions of those when you replace those on your next maintenance
Randomly stumbled across this channel. Looks pretty cool. One question, how do you decide what you are printing or what’s hot to print up…. Just curious how it’s done
Hi Macy, I’ve been enjoying your videos. I’ve noticed you consistently get really nice surface finishes, especially the top layers. Are you using ironing? Any insights you have in this area would be amazing. Thank you!
My recommendation, I would get a PandaTouch if I were you. Several Bambu printers can be controlled via wifi (according to the datasheet, up to 10 printers). It will help a lot when controlling P1P and P1S, instead of the default displays. 😉
I agree with your subscriber Dave about the the extra supports. Having done lots of construction myself it's better to be safe than sorry. Last thing you want is for 1 bracket to come loose and it all comes crashing down. Question, on your desk about between your monitors what is that small console that had lots of lit up buttons on them?
Macy: I noticed you have a few filament rolls that are cardboard vs plastic. Do you ever have trouble with the AMS loading them? I’ve had a few issues on my AMS with cardboard. Thanks! Keep up the amazing work.
Thanks for your videos, I have picked up some excellent tips from you. I have just started using a printer for prototyping my designs. Which Gorilla glue are you using to glue your printed parts together? I am using Bambu PLA for my models. Trying to figure out which glue is best 😊 BTW: I moved from Adobe Illustrator to Affinity Design. It is a one time cost and really affordable. Helped reduce my monthly software cost. Thanks for sharing all your discoveries.
Id love to see Macy’s opinion on Creality’s K2 Machine and would you be interested in this machine or as a Bambu Printist are you opposed to this new machine and would wait for Bambu to make a larger machine, or do you not need or want that size.
I love being called a printist 😂 I’m willing to try out other printers but the bambus will be hard to beat. I’m super excited to see what they’re cooking up for their next release.
Hey! Do you have any special setting for your P1S's? Your top layers are looking really good - I can't acheave that quality level on my prints. Any tips? Tx!
Thank you for the enjoyable video. I have one question, I notice that you store most of your filament without any protection from moisture (except for some rolls). I am a new printer and have been made to feel that I have to have all my rolls/reels sealed and stored in sealed containers with descant, and then use a drier before I use it.
PLA can be out for quite a while without absorbing too much moisture. If you start to notice anything’s weird in your prints just throw the roll in the dryer and you’ll be good. No need to store PLA in sealed bags.
I used to order the Bambu Matte black but I had complaints at how brittle it was. Sure enough, it's much weaker than non matte filaments. However, I still liked the look of the matte so I experimented a bit, I found that Sunlu filaments can be printed at 210c and they look matte, without losing strength. Give it a try if you have problems with the bambu matte. Also, PLA+ filaments print matte on the bambu printers.
Macy, I love the look of the Bambu matte black, but it sticks to my plate like it was superglued on there. Do you have this problem too? If so, how do you get it off the plate when it is done?
I keep my plate at 55 for bambu matte pla and it sticks well but not too much. If I don’t let it cool it’ll leave a film on the bottom but a blast of heat from the mini torch and it looks good again.
Hi, I just got to think about, what do you do when you have used all the filament and you're holding the coil. Do you put it in the trash or... It would be eco friendly to recycle them. Just wondering. Have just bought a printer myself. 😊
Curious how cost effective are those multicolor prints? I noticed the multi color prints can print 10 time longer than single color.(using Bambu lab CX1 with one AMS) Plus stopping the print to swap filament manually, is a serious speed bump. Is it more so for small run "high dollar" items?
is elegoo's 10kg package PLA series the best value for your bucks right now? I can't find any better offers, and their filament has been treating my printer very well :)
I was wondering the same. I have run a few cardboard spools through mine but some of the ones I purchased recently have damages rims and I'm worried they won't retract properly. They are ESUN spools and they have the notch so I was hoping they were the same as the Bambu Lab refill spools. I tore one apart and of course it has a smaller core so I can't use a reusable Bambu spool. I haven't had much luck with the spool adapters so far so I may have to look into respooling them.

I see you struggle with the 'right' color. I just picked up an X1C, with the intent of 3D printing window box layered SVGs primarily designed for papercraft (your recent wreath video set my mind in motion). The 6 to 18 layers using gradient / progression colors for the window box construction has me on the hunt for physical or digital color swatches. I've only been able to find the physical Bambu color swatches (but my local MicroCenter does not stock Bambu filament). How does a startup printer buy only the correct color - without buying every spool of every color by every brand?
They recently changed the spool design. Old spools I loved and had no issues, but the new design is causing some issues so I printed some ring adapters and everything is running smooth again. Easy fix.
I try to design/print things with minimal color changes to try and minimize the chance of error, but besides that there’s not much I can do. Just keep things clean and hope for the best haha
I just came across your channel! I like your setup and how your online presence is setup And you are licensing from model makers, so you're supporting them nicely! I've seen a lot of folks selling 3D prints online and most are not licensed. Its the wild west out there and I'm curious how you handle customers wanting stuff that's got some IP (Marvel, Star Wars, etc)
I try to give credit to the artists :) I don’t really have issues with people wanting licensed items. I would probably say no if I was asked to create something like that just to be safe. Not worth it.
You should make and sell those Braille cubes that help blond children learn how to read braille without having to use that annoying pole stick technique. I feel like thats something a lot of teachers would enjoy having in their classrooms Plus it's kind of crappy that companies try and sell the non 3d printed ones for like a $1000. Hi! If you don't have a 3D printer, that would be the place to start. If you do have a 3D printer you need to start finding some prints to sell, and make sure you're printing with the best quality that you can. Then once you have some products, find a way to sell them. Either online or at craft fairs, or even at school to your friends. Once you're getting some sales, invest back into your business and start growing your farm. Some basic advice, but I hope that helps.
So..your not worried giving those flexis out and kids choking on the parts that will break off by using reg pla..or petg even..try tough pla for those....way stronger joints...my snakes don't snap if yanked on..pla,petg has very easy..good luck..
Lol I think you are misunderstanding which prints she is using for personal use vs selling, easy mistake and maybe your comment could be readdressed after a quick rewatch to clarify 😅
@@macymakes3d Instead of printing plugs for the vertebrae it is quite easy to even use stl or 3mf files as input to FreeCad, and close up the holes. I know FreeCAD has a bit of a threshold to get into, but it is very useful and powerful, and, very very free ... For a one off I'd use a weekly build of FreeCAD, comes with upsides. And on that note, Illustrator ain't that easy either, or it's just me. (yes, onshape is based on freecad, just not free ...)

Do you not seal your filaments for storage to protect from humidity etc? Or do you dry any?
I don’t store PLA in bags and I don’t usually have to dry it. I do store PETG in bags and I’ll still dry it before printing.

a worthy investment would be a multiroll filiment dryer
Bambu makes a darker green thats as close as I have to a pine color
Yeah I think I have that but it gives me army green vibes. Maybe I have a different one though.
Curious how cost effective are those multicolor prints? I noticed the multi color prints can print 10 time longer than single color.(using Bambu lab CX1 with one AMS) Plus stopping the print to swap filament manually, is a serious speed bump. Is it more so for small run "high dollar" items?
Depends on the number of color changes. Most of my products only have 1 or 2 color changes which don’t affect the cost much at all.
is elegoo's 10kg package PLA series the best value for your bucks right now? I can't find any better offers, and their filament has been treating my printer very well :)
Yeah I think so! It’s a super good deal and the filament prints really smooth. I’m into it.
Question, Why don't you tape the cardboard fillaments anymore?
background music caught me off guard started making the stank face🤣
Hahaha I think I went a little to hard on the music this time
@ never! keep doin that, it was an attention grabber
How do you find the cardboard spools working in the AMS?
I was wondering the same. I have run a few cardboard spools through mine but some of the ones I purchased recently have damages rims and I'm worried they won't retract properly. They are ESUN spools and they have the notch so I was hoping they were the same as the Bambu Lab refill spools. I tore one apart and of course it has a smaller core so I can't use a reusable Bambu spool. I haven't had much luck with the spool adapters so far so I may have to look into respooling them.
Ive never really had too many problems, just an occasional snag, but recently I’ve started printing some of the spool rings just to be safe. No issues at all since adding the rings.
What do you recommend using to clean the build plate after each print?
I’ll use some soap and water along with rubbing alcohol every now and then but I don’t clean after every print.
@@macymakes3d Great, thanks so much.
Have you found or created filament profiles for each different brand to use in bambu studio? If so how can I get my hands on the profiles?

I see you struggle with the 'right' color. I've only been able to find the physical Bambu color swatches (but my local MicroCenter does not stock Bambu filament). How does a startup printer buy only the correct color - without buying every spool of every color by every brand?
Nice I love the paper style designs. And yeah, finding the right color is tough. Nothing looks the same online as it does printed.
Why you don't tape the cardboard spools anymore? Do you upgrade your AMS`s?
The tape made things worse so I just went back to the plain cardboard. Now I’ve started printing some spool rings, this was filmed before that though.
What is your opinion on elegoo pla? i was thinking about getting some with my first 3d printer (bambu labs a1 mini)
I like elegoo. I use their PLA and the matte PLA. Both are easy to print and look nice.
Why not use your slicer to add a modifier and primitive and have it print with no holes vs designing the caps and printing them?
Something I can try next time. I’m new to 3D modeling so I don’t know all the tricks yet. But I appreciate all the tips!
How well does overture filament rolls work in your AMS system? I am just wondering since it is a card board roll. Thank you ❤
They recently changed the spool design. Old spools I loved and had no issues, but the new design is causing some issues so I printed some ring adapters and everything is running smooth again. Easy fix.
@ thank you so much!
Could you not modify the STL files for the skeleton parts and remove the holes?
What are the MiniRX all about ? I'm confused 😂
They’re mini weight sets for toddlers to be able to workout safely with their parents. Mainly for CrossFit
How do you deal with print failures or is there a fail safe way to avoid them?
I try to design/print things with minimal color changes to try and minimize the chance of error, but besides that there’s not much I can do. Just keep things clean and hope for the best haha
Loooooooovvvvvvveeeeeee
closing holes os pretty well made in onshape. If he does not neet the holes, they should not be there in the first place
So how did the football work out?
Great! I got it on the first try. The 2 after clogged but it just needed to be dried again and then it was good to go again.
on the matte pine, would the bambulab matte pine green work?
I think I have that one and it gives me army green vibes instead of pine, but maybe I have a different one than you’re talking about.
What software do you use to edit your/make your 3D designs?
I have the same question following
I use Adobe illustrator for 2D design, Tinkercad for SVGs to 3D, onshape for 3D modeling, and bambu studio is my slicer :)

Some basic advice, but I hope that helps.
Seccoooond 😂
Where are you located?
What is flexi-PLA?
Kinda like TPU I think but maybe easier to print? That may be wrong, but flex pla is soft and flexible and it bounces.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
you are the perfect woman
🦾🦾🦾👍
So..your not worried giving those flexis out and kids choking on the parts that will break off by using reg pla..or petg even..try tough pla for those....way stronger joints...my snakes don't snap if yanked on..pla,petg has very easy..good luck..

So, those middle schoolers wore you down, huh?

Hmmm....looks like my comment disappeared....or maybe I never hit save?!
Never saw anything come through besides this one
@@macymakes3d LOL well, let me try and remember what I said!
THIRD!!! AMAZING VIDEO!
you are cute and very beautiful today
fiiiiiiirrrrrrrssssstttt!!!!!
Ok. You steal STL´s from Makerworld with NON COMMERCIAL USAGE and print and sell then. That’s not the right way to do business
You must be new here. What makerworld models am I selling?
Lol I think you are misunderstanding which prints she is using for personal use vs selling, easy mistake and maybe your comment could be readdressed after a quick rewatch to clarify 😅
What software do you use to edit your/make your 3D designs?
I mainly use Adobe illustrator for the design, tinkercad for 3d svgs, onshape for 3d modeling, and bambu studio for slicer.
