Hello Jake, love that 55 Super! By now you know the engine is a 322 Buick Nail Head. It has close to 200 HP. The Difference between the Super and Roadmaster, is trim and the 4 barrel carburetor. One of my older Brothers had a 55 Super Riviera 2 Dr. It was pretty quick, Brother put a 4 Barrel Carburetor on the engine. It did make a difference. Also in 55 Buick used what's called vertical pitch in the transmission, it was passing gear. Dynaflow transmission never shifted on its own. (D) Drive was Drive (L) Low was Low there was no shifting from low to Drive. Hope to see you driving it.

Same as with passengers, don't look at them like you would when not driving. Also keep right except to pass. Lanes left of right lane are meant for passing only (unless exits). I learned how to drive on one of these. These old Buicks are bullet proof. I still see many around. Looks like a fun project.

Remember that some of tbese came with Hi-Flow auxiliary hydraulic as an option(machine will have 2 sets of hose connections), tho i don't know the gpm of the Hi-Flow.

A Roadmaster suppose to have a Stromberg 4 Barrel. The intake was probably changed. For future reference, submerge in lemon juice and boil for at least 20. Add lemon juice as necessary to keep it submerged. Only boil brass, copper, aluminum. No plastic or rubber. OUTSTANDING! Nothing like the old Buick motors. I love the car, I grew up with a Roadmaster just like that one in my neighborhood. Those Buicks have what’s called a spline seal to keep the transmission fluid from going into the rear end because it has a closed drive line. Bobs Automobilia in California for all the parts you’ll need The 55 Buick had a vertical pitch transmission. It was the first year for a passing gear. I have watched videos of people building their own slide in campers, and I was a little skeptical about how sturdy they would be without them having a welded aluminum frame. Seeing the way that camper is built, it looks like they don't really need to be as structurally stable as I thought, because that one doesn't seem to be built very well.

That was a great tip for the tape. You can buy butyl tape in 2-inch widths for corners.

I would have painted the rot damaged areas, and possible future wet spots with a coat of penetrating epoxy resin.

If anyone is looking to do this the product is also commonly referred to as millings or grindings. You may even get lucky and find a paving contractor that will give them to you because it costs us to dispose of them. A quick tip, if you put it down on a very hot day and mist it with diesel prior to compacting it you'll damn near have a standard asphalt driveway.

1988 was the first year for the trip odometer which was in both the square body models & OBSs. The only square body models that were dropped in 1988 were the half ton & three quarter ton plain cab pickups. When the OBSs were first introduced in 1988, they only came in plain & new optional extended cab pickup models at the time because crew cab pickup & SUV models with the previous square body design were still in production up through 1991. The one ton plain cab pickups were the only models that came in both body designs at the same time which was from 1988 - 1989. Thaz why the series on square body models were changed to R/V series in 1987 so they wouldn't confuse people with the square body models & the upcoming next generation C/K series pickups which were the OBSs for the 1988 model year because both body designs were going to be in production at the same time which lasted up through 1991.
