  • I bought this New Holland LX865 off of Facebook Marketplace and it is a beast of a machine. I expect to use this for land clearing, driveway grading/implementation, tree and root removal, fork lifting projects and parts off of the trailer or delivery truck, etc.. Let me know what attachments or uses you can think of in the comments!

    The most useful small machine ever. The more attachments you get the more it can do.

      @@chargermopar Definitely planning on a grapple in the near future and pallet forks eventually. Auger and trencher would be great for landscaping too

    I have a LX565 which is a smaller machine, mine is basically the same type machine. Lifts about 1800 lbs. - rock solid machine, owned for 18 years.

    I have one just like it that I bought new in 2000 for $24,500...best investment I ever made. I've used it for nearly anything you can think of here on the farm. Taken out trees, old fence rows, pulling/carrying logs, emptied & cleaned out a pond, buried cattle, horses...and a myriad of other critters. Picked fruit, trimmed trees, moved firewood, took down/piled old buildings. Main job is maintenance of a 1 3/4 mile of driveway. Loading fertilizer/lime spreaders, removing Large boulders, stumps, and spreading/leveling gravel, etc, etc... don't know what I'd do w/o it!

      Agreed! It's more than paid for itself in the time I've owned it

    Nice. I've got the same machine so I came to learn more about it. Thanks for the info

      The engine oil dipstick is one I forgot to show, it's on the left side(when sitting in it) of the machine and can only seem to be accessed by taking the side panel off. Just FYI cause it took me a while to find!

    I just bought that same machine but mine has a extra hole in the side of the block where it threw a rod . But btw you may know this now but where you were checking the hydraulic oil by the pumps that’s actually the oil for the bell hosing it has a wet bell hosing

      Thanks! I did figure out that the hydraulic fluid was the plastic reservoir, wasn't sure what the center one was yet! Hope you can fix your machine up!

    Apparently these are great for clearing land to make a shooting range :) BTW I would take a New Holland over a Bobcat any day of the week. Great purchase IMO.

      BTW upgrade suggestions would be possibly a bush hog and auger if you don't already have those in some form or another. Some of those tools that you find a use for once you own them, which can be as bad as it is good.

      Thanks! I'll probably use a bush hog on a tractor since we've got one already but the auger sounds like a good idea for building pole barns and lean-tos for storing everything I buy for one use lol.

    How can the LX865 be moved if the engine won't start? Is there a way to disengage the drive for free roll?

    • @StateFun
      @StateFun  Год назад

      I'm honestly not sure, I've pulled mine when I blew a hydraulic line and it seemed to help having someone in the cab acting like they're driving

    Any one know the aux gpm flow?

    • @StateFun
      @StateFun  Год назад

      Google says it's got a 17 gpm flow in general. I know it's not enough to run grapple, bucket, and boom all at the same time!
