You are a Danske Landeværn infantryman part of a unit made up of a mix of different regiments sent to secure Christiansborg Palace, the British have started to fire bomb the city to contain the outbreak and it's been days since last contact with command, what ever is left of your men and supplies are slowly dwindling. As the cannibals claw their way through the barricade you and your comrades had set up on the marble bridge to keep the undead back a sense of dread befalls you as you realize you're never going to make it out of this alive, as you come to terms with your fate and ready your bayonet for one last desperate defense a cannon shot rings out through the canals next to the palace, as you look around dazed and confused from the loud noise an officer yells out that salvation has come and that he's spotted a boat that's been commandeered by a few of your comrades and it's making it's way through the canals, you and your unit with a new found sense of hope start to make a dash for the bridge while holding off the horde of undead breaking through the barricades, as the boat gets closer to the bridge your unit jumps aboard just in time, you've been saved and you feel a sense of relief wash over you, until you hear the distant sound of a whistle and cannons being fired right at you.
