I really like the way Kaub plays out. Instead of Escaping from the hordes of the undead, you confront them yourselves and reclaim territory from them. The music also somehow hits harder than a fully loaded nock gun, and that fact alone has made Kaub one of my favorite maps. The Gbp devs honestly did an amazing Job on Kaub, and i can't wait to see how good the next objective maps will be.

It was a nightmare in the initial release, seriously nobody made it until the end and if you were lucky enough to do so the ending horde would very quickly turn you into human meat
This was by far my favorite map since it had a great music in the end which fitted well with the map which, was awesome and it had a great atmosphere to it. :D
The song lures you into a false sense of security. It plays on every victory. You think you’ve won that you’ve reached the end of the map but the Marshall gives you his last order…………… (damn that officer went full on Kratos down the stairs)
I love how in these final parts it feels like your either fighting for something higher than yourself or just fighting to save your fellow players around you. There's no in between 😂
In Kaub, it's usually just mucking around in the back lines while some of the rest just do the work downstairs with the occasional *bone fracture sfx* and *scream sfx* followed by *musket/blunderbuss firing sfx* orrr just a juxtaposition of wonderful music with everyone just running for their lives upstairs as the cannibals surely gain ground with more frequent events of people falling and it's all just gone to shite
Checked the new map out beforehand on my private server and found out all the objectives. Glad to say I helped my teammates throughout the map only for 4 of them to survive it with me 🔥
I think this music can summarize the scene of soldiers fighting zombies in the plot in four stages: Note: I regard the main melody of the music as the balance between the zombie tide and the army, and the accompaniment in the music as the degree of attack of the zombie tide and the degree of resistance of the soldiers. Stage 1 (0:00~0:45): The low melody is like the zombies just out of the cage, and the soldiers fight the zombies on the lower floor of the tower. Stage 2 (0:45~2:15): The beautiful music at the beginning is like a seed being gently buried in the soil, representing that the zombies have just entered part of the lower floor of the tower. As the music progresses, it becomes deeper and deeper, which also means that the soldiers begin to retreat step by step in the lower floor of the tower and finally retreat to the middle floor of the tower. Stage 3 (2:15~2:55): The biggest feature of this stage is the sudden sharp tone mixed in the main melody, which represents the continuous sudden attack of the zombie tide, and also shows that the soldiers use resistance to retreat to the upper floor of the tower or even the top floor in the continuous raid of the zombie tide. The fourth stage (2:55~3:24): This stage is the transition from the third stage to the chorus, with extremely different ups and downs (from low to high). Combined with the extremely powerful divine punishment in the G&B world view (i.e. the zombie tide), I think this represents that the balance between the soldiers and the zombie tide has been completely broken. The zombie tide that has the upper hand continues to attack the upper floors of the tower, and the soldiers retreat in despair. The last two repeated melodies of this stage indicate that the soldiers fled to the tower and found that there was nowhere to escape, which also paved the way for the subsequent chorus. Chorus (3:24~4:18): The chorus here represents the mentality of the soldiers to rise up and resist, and represents the soldiers' last courage. They launched the final charge against the zombie tide, using anger to exchange for a way out. The smell of black gunpowder permeated the tower, and courage was inspired in the hearts of the soldiers. And this is courage and black gunpowder! In the end, the zombies were wiped out by the courage of the remaining soldiers, and the survivors raised the flag on the top floor, declaring that the supreme virtue of mankind will last forever. *This comment was made by me on a whim. If you have any additions or rebuttals, you are welcome to post them.

Many died thorough the attack. It was only me, the priest and two officers charging at the zombie forces while 2 musketeers help assist at the top. Near the end, of of the musketeers accidentally fell to his death while the priest that saved me got blown up by a bomber. While all hope loss, the Austrian officer activated his last charge ability which was a life saver for all of us, it even gave me the "give them steel" badge. After killing the last zombie, only 2 out of the total 18 died. The Austrian officer got chopped by an axe by a zombie. I barely survived as i was basically 1 hp and a bavarian musketeer escaped barely harmed. Wth a sense of respect, the bavarian allowe me to flag the pole, saying that i deserved it more. Is quite rare for me to get this fun in roblox but this is easily a roblox memory.

Those two guys that fell down and broke their legs. 8. That one dumbass sitting in the room for the whole time just to raise the flag.
One time I remember the server i was in had 6 PEOPLE waiting to raise the flag. I thought they were afk but looking in the chat all of them were yapping lol
I always listen to this song during the final part of my workout, I love guts and blackpowder because of it's surreal use of all these classical pieces previously thought to be no more than "old music" in the eyes, and ears of some, however guts and blackpowder sees it in a different light, ode to joy is playing while the defending team is trying to holdout to their last hopes, the opera singers brilliantly complementing the chaos of the final act but the tone of the song is so positive and exhilarating that you can't help but try your heart out and in the end, you might just make it.
I love the music in this game I mean not only is it music from around the same time as the game takes place ( ish) it ends the level with a feeling of victory and joy with you
The (very dark) sight of seeing the zombies in the basement hallway, the horde slowly concquering the stairs, all the barricades falling, your men dying, burning, geting blown up, getting eaten, while Ode to Joy setting the mood.
Discovered this game 4 months ago and I didn't seem to like it. Probably because the fact that my first impression of the game was with literal blind and deaf idiots. Came back to revisit and Kaub was actually the map that I played. Got to this part surprisingly in 1 life, it was so intense. We won too, and I got a badge. The devs really pieced it well. The treacherous journey to the castle, the build up at the tower, then finally the ending. It felt amazing and I can't believe I missed so much fun lol.
Im not sure if its an unwritten rule but, everytime I play Kaub and the song reaches the part where the choir sings, If theres an officer with full charge, he must activate it at the same time so it syncs with the music
Imagine a G&B movie where the camera ascends to the sky from the basement and getting a panoramic shot of the zombies climbing the stairs while the survivors fight them
Heard this masterpiece last week in Music class, i just wanted to scream "Finish this! Finish this for Prussia!" What a masterpiece and in fact Beethoven wrote this when he was deaf
I would love to see an objective map based in the Alps, perhaps in Austria or Switzerland, that uses In The Halls of The Mountain King. I love the use of classical pieces at the end of the objective maps, it adds to the thrill.
I don't think that's very likely. The devs wanted to follow the lore and base maps off of historical events, and no major battles happened in the area after 1812. But In The Halls of The Mountain King can definitely be used in, say, Dresden, Kulm, or maybe some Italian objective map. I'm really interested to see where they go with this after Copenhagen
I love the music in this game. The musical motif that plays when players win a campaign map is a snippet of Ode to Joy, signifying a small victory for the survivors. But in this map, where the survivors set up a proper stronghold against the zombies, a longer version plays, signifying a greater victory for the survivors. And given the fact that officers like to sync up charges with the musical drop, it makes the part at 3:20 even better, as the survivors plow through a horde of zombies, a storm of steel as they charge down the staircase.
3:24 exactly this part started playing when i was the last survivor and then like 10 zombies jumped on me and killed me. I love this gamemode so much for such epic moments and idea in general
I think th best part of this song on Kaub is when you hit the vocals, it feels like a horde of zombies are coming and coming till theyre all dead in the hands of the survivors. Beethoven really made a legendary song for us even if he was deaf when he composed it.
had a cracked kaub lobby so much that when we got pushed back to about halfway up the stairs we actually started to push back down the stairs and REGAIN ground

Winter - The Four Seasons (Vardohus): Tense and uncertainty of biding time until the ship arrives, also fits the winter setting Facing the Inevitable (San Sebastian): A sense of uncertainty and dramaticness knowing that one of you have to die for the rest of your comrades; you fight on endless waves of zombies as the salvation, so close and in sight, slowly approaches frustratingly. 1812 Overture (Catacombs): An epic tune as it feels like the souls of all of civilians and soldiers alike, both French and foreign, cheer you on as you delay the zombie advance from the evacuating Parisians and defend the city, momentarily keeping the City of Lights burning for one final time, before triumphantly reaching safety in the riverboat. Ode to Joy (Kaub): A song of determination, glory, heroism, and righteousness as you wipe out the zombies in the castle one by one, securing it for other armies. It is as if the heavens themselves errupt into a joyous chorus as man takes arms for their King and crusades into a just, holy battle against what is literally the damned, determined to hold their position and defend the last bastion of Prussian hope as well as the collective future of humanity as Satan's forces relentlessly swarm the stairwell. The song fits even more as the imposing threat on human existence finally unites mankind as one - an unstoppable, brotherly force
Probably one of my favourite missions so far. The fact that you actually defend a lost cause castle, while this banger of a classical song plays just feels great.
2:14 is when the either the sh*t hits the fan, or you push them back, either way, this is easily the best part onward. Also its 3:23 when the masterpiece hits

I really like the way Kaub plays out. Instead of Escaping from the hordes of the undead, you confront them yourselves and reclaim territory from them. The music also somehow hits harder than a fully loaded nock gun, and that fact alone has made Kaub one of my favorite maps. I think this music can summarize the scene of soldiers fighting zombies in the plot in four stages:
Note: I regard the main melody of the music as the balance between the zombie tide and the army, and the accompaniment in the music as the degree of attack of the zombie tide and the degree of resistance of the soldiers.

What i find weird is that Kaub takes place in like 1814, but Ode To Joy was made in 1822 ish.
to be fair the 1812 overture was made in the late 1800s so you can't complain

Winter - The Four Seasons (Vardohus): Tense and uncertainty of biding time until the ship arrives, also fits the winter setting
Facing the Inevitable (San Sebastian): A sense of uncertainty and dramaticness knowing that one of you have to die for the rest of your comrades; you fight on endless waves of zombies as the salvation, so close and in sight, slowly approaches frustratingly.
