Fun Fact: During the War of the Third Coalition, Lord Nelson commanded the British fleet (along with Vice Admiral Collingwood) in the Battle of Trafalgar against the Franco-Spanish alliance near Gibraltar on October 21, 1805. Instead of having a traditional navy battle in which ships would sail in parallel lines and fire their cannons at the sides of other ships, Nelson sailed his ships head-on into the French/Spanish line, cutting the French and Spanish lines into three, and capturing 21 of the alliance’s ships and destroying 1 out of the combined 33 ships of the French and Spanish fleets. The British won the battle, but Vice Admiral Nelson got shot by a French Musketeer and died shortly before the end of the battle. The British victory ensured British control of the sea and canceled Napoleon’s idea of invading Britain. Nelson’s death but victory in the battle (along with many naval victories of his before this) resulted in him getting turned into kind of a “legend” for the British.

Most ships at the time carried children on-board as powder monkeys; people who would retrieve ammunition from below decks and carry it to the guns. Since prepubescent children, even boys, can sing at higher tones than postpubescent men, that might be the powder monkey you're hearing.
I was looking at this now seeing if they actually sing it, but I was going over to the ship. I didn’t hear them sing it. What triggers is it or is this just something?
Who made this rendition? This is the best version of this song to me, I searched for other renditions of this song after I watched this but this is the best version I heard! Was this version made specifically for Guts and Blackpowder? This is such a banger!
@@bromhead nope I don’t think there’s a version like this on RUclips (unless it’s deleted). There’s a video that came before this by Meepman and there’s a version made by Robert White in the description so I think that’s the original but it’s unavailable.
I feel like it brig sloop should be atleast a frigate if they want to enforce quarantine and just have the players fire coastal batteries cause Copenhagen historically technically had coastal forts which usually have very heavy artillery so to be honest that would be kinda better
The British weren’t expecting to fight with anyone, thus any ship with commons would do. Plus it would be unrealistic for the British to waste a frigate in Copenhagen.
@@Gam_Saunt well Copenhagen was a danish naval port and this means the danish would still have had something of a navy or atleast coastal guns plus British ships of the line can slightly be seen in the distance but realistically the brig sloop should be firing round shot and even then if the wood boards are placed grapeshot would likely go right through due to its high speed also wouldn’t loud gunfire attract the attention of other British ships? Well it’s unlikely the danish survivors survived for long on a flimsy little boat they have plus British warships nearby would probably not mind blowing it up to pieces
@@Paul_maistre The Danish never tried to fight back as they weren’t meant to. Denmark had basically already fallen so they let the British in. Also, if you look around the map you will see there are different ships, including what appears to be a first rate war vessel (which is quite inaccurate considering how few of them the British had, and the fact the Navy wouldn’t use them just to quarantine a city of the undead.)
@@Gam_Saunt yeah but it’s unlikely the survivors made it far in a boat of that size plus firing cannons and a ship blowing up will surely attract more British brigs or sloops nearby and even if the survivors got past that then they don’t have anywhere to go since most of the land near them is hostile
They probably didn’t think people were gonna pull up with boats, so They only had grape shot to shoot people on land, which are very ineffective against boats. If they had roundshot they would absolutely destroy us.

Commanded by Lord Nelson
The French for to meet
We fought on the deep
We cannoned on the main
In the Battle of Trafalgar
Where Nelson was slay
He was a brave commander
And sailed the ocean-wide
He made the French to tremble
With his terrible broadside
One-hundred fights he'd been in
And never once was beat
Though he'd one armed and one eyed
No power could beat
They’ve hit her magazine! Abandon ship!
Damn it- *BOOM!!!*

Gunboat! Ready the cannons and fire as she pass!
This song reminds me of a movie called "Master and Commander The far side of the world"
People often forget how close the american revolutionary war occurred from Napleonic war. Which was thirty years off. WHich is pretty close in my opininon, because most of the british admirality were veterans of american revolutionary war. Lord Nelson being one of these men, who cannoned the maine.
Britannia they expected!
Great new's from our fleet!
Commanded by Lord Nelson! the french for to meet.
We fought on the deep!

In the Battle Of Trafalgar!
Where Nelson was slain..

One Hundred Fights he'd been in!
And never once was beat!
Though he'd one arm
And one eye the power cut him defeat!
This bold undaunted hero
On the quarter deck he stood!
You would admire his actions!
With the decks awash with lot!
Then aloft high in the rigging!
A Frenchman fired a ball!
And that was the cause of our Great Lord Nelsons Fall!
He says unto his captain "How does the battle go?" I hear the big guns rattle though death is near i know."
Eighteen we have captured! Our men they are on board!
And will blow the french!
From the ocean my lord!
Come all you bold britains!
May the bottle go round!
For Nelson was loyal!
And true to the crown!
Is a hail to all seamen!
That speak of him good!
God bless our King and the Great Lord Collingwood!
But Mourn, England Mourn!
Mourn and Complain!
For the Loss Of Lord Nelson!
Who fought along the Maine!
Mourn, England Mourn!
Mourn And Complain!
For the Loss Of Lord Nelson!
Who fought along the Maine!

Why is this a banger 🔥🔥🔥🔥
its actually so joever
Imagine if everyone die, this going to be game over music
If they had the best sound design, G&B should definitely win (edit, at 2:16 does anyone else hear a female singing?)
probably from the original song
WOMAN UPDATE WHEN
@@Bobmcpromay 5
Most ships at the time carried children on-board as powder monkeys; people who would retrieve ammunition from below decks and carry it to the guns. Since prepubescent children, even boys, can sing at higher tones than postpubescent men, that might be the powder monkey you're hearing.
This is a going to be replayed for hours
No, this will be played for a 100 fights.
If they load roundshoot we are so dead 💀
Literally the British crew are get possessed by soul and make them hostile to players instead of rescue us ( theory)
the city of Copenhagen is quarantined

Brother!
So much more lyrics when you consider it gets cut off by a Bosun by "He was a brave commander.".
In this game I experienced how is it to kill living human who has family waiting at home :/
I was looking at this now seeing if they actually sing it, but I was going over to the ship. I didn’t hear them sing it. What triggers is it or is this just something?
Probably when you are near the white bridge
They start singing once the ship rounds the corner just before the bridge and the British ship is visible
We quaranting an island full of potential zombies with this one 😭🙏
This reminds me of Battle Sails, good game.
Excuse me mate but why did they do this well literally i'm already british or french because that is my totally favorite countries but why
We be dancing with this banger fr 🗣️🔥💯
A whole HMS vs floating wood with cannon
Who made this rendition? This is the best version of this song to me, I searched for other renditions of this song after I watched this but this is the best version I heard! Was this version made specifically for Guts and Blackpowder? This is such a banger!
this wasn’t made for guts and blackpowder it’s literally on yt it’s just a dif version
@@bromhead nope I don’t think there’s a version like this on RUclips (unless it’s deleted). There’s a video that came before this by Meepman and there’s a version made by Robert White in the description so I think that’s the original but it’s unavailable.
@@RandomVs189 the original is by Robert white I believe
@@RandomVs189 also the video by Robert white is not unavailable so idk what your referring to

It is possible that there are more ships, but we only get to fight this sloop
Listening to this while havkng pvp
Those subtitles go hard
Its joeover guys... the subtitles turned bri'ish 😢
i litterally wanted this so badly
1:09 is ot just me or am i hearing woman singing at this part?
Same tf
Holy shizet imagine if there WAS a woman on board lol[least amount of Detail Guts&Blackpowder has]
We're learning about commander Nelson lol.
one question, why barry’s people are shooting at us
quarantine
They were making sure no one escapes the quarantine to stop the blight from further spreading. At the end that didn't turn out pretty well for them.
imagine loosing to a small sized boat
They just really have a good wooden chair
Small sized boat being boarded by cannibals at the same time. Basically Hiper mega Ultra Super Definitive edition Skill Issue.
@@tdguy1532 I mean they can sink us easiyer if they load round shot
They probably didn’t think people were gonna pull up with boats, so They only had grape shot to shoot people on land, which are very ineffective against boats. If they had roundshot they would absolutely destroy us.
They used canister (or grapeshot?) To kill us but we used roundshot to sink their ship so yeah
How does one catch them singing? I've been trying to but for some reason I can't. When do the crew sing this in game?
@@shaunonlyplaysyt9879 between when the boat the players use round the corner and the brig sloop spotting the players
