Props to the guy who lived for 2000 years and filmed this for us
Very original and extremely hilarious.
Never heard this one before
@@waltervandijk860 Quit it. Its still relevant to the video.

Little do the people of London know, an ancient Roman soldier still walks among them after nearly two millenia, marveling at the modern metropolis.
The last Roman
An immortal Roman soldier living his life for millennia, he will yet live to see the end of London.
Casca
Casca Rufio Longinus
I bet it's Rory Williams.
After the Roman empire fall, the people of London immediately lived in tents, and it took London 900 years to build back to Roman standards, wow.
It wouldn't say it was immediate. Roman Britain fell into steep decline after Magnus Maximus declared himself Emperor in Britain in 383AD and left the island with most of the Roman legions to help him take the throne. Barbarian invasions ramped up due to less military presence; the increased invasions impacted things like trade and the economy. As a result, the Roman infrastructure quickly fell into disrepair because of societal and economical instability.
The Crossing of the Rhine in 406 was the nail in coffin for Britannia since most Gaul was overran by the Germanic tribes leaving the island completely cut off from Imperial Command. Communications and trade with Rome broke down and soldiers went into revolt as they weren't receiving pay. The soldiers then crowned a few successive emperors and overthrew whichever ones they deemed weren't up to the task. They settled on Constantine III who took whatever military strength was left and abandoned Britain to save Gaul and take the throne.
From this point, Britannia was pretty much left on its own to defend itself and the Romans officially withdrew from the island a few years later in 410. The remaining garrisons probably barricaded themselves in and thousands of people would've been fleeing for their lives into the last remaining save-havens like London because of the Saxon and Pict invasions causing absolute carnage everywhere. Apparrently, some rich families actually stayed behind and tried to maintain the Roman way of life, but being cut off from Rome for so long made it more and more difficult. By 500AD, London was effectively a ghost town.throne
The guy that said come get your hot dogs sounds like a New Yorker
@TrustandrepentotheLORDI agree but how is this related to the video
@@clouds-rb9xt It means they ballsed up and included audio from their New York City video?
@@T0T4LG4MER5 Some guy replied with some Bible verse or something about Christianity I think. They deleted it though
I was so confused about it 😂
Yeah i think that must have been a mistake. I guess there are new yorkers living in london though. Would have been worse if they accidentally used that sound clip in Roman era 😂
Proud of the cameraman for filming for 1981 years straight just for us.
At some point this played out joke needs to stop.

I hope you make videos like this for all famous cities around the world. This video is so great and accurate in matter of time and surroundings.
I will keep working on these! 😊
@@info_geekAny chance to do Prague? Somwhere in the Future? I know its not the biggest city but it has interesting history.
it's so interesting that London took a step backwards in terms of housing quality after the end of Roman rule. love this and the New York video!
That was crazy. It took them around 600 years to get back to where the romans were.
The Anglo-Saxons were a nomadic and barbaric people... the Romans abandoned Great Britain and fled from there. When the Anglo-Saxons took over the country, technology regressed.
Westerners think that history is linear... in reality it is cyclical.
Utter nonsense.
Wouldn't take these videos as 100% accurate depiction of things
It makes sense. The Romans were a continent spanning global superpower at the time of their annexation of Britain.
These videos are incredible! I can't wait to see more!

Can’t believe that London used to be nothing
Edit: Ty for 55 likes!!!!
All of the cities that we know about all used to be nothing at one point.
It is because there was no population that time
@@FROST-if9hp
The population of the world at the year 43, would have been around 180 million.
It’s like first starting your survival world, a COMPLETELY vanilla landscape.. but then 7 years later still playing, there are planks and bricks that are still there since your first week. Then when a new friend who joins you and see all the man-made structures you did, it really is hard to believe that all of this happened from just a bunch of oak trees around there.. trees that were long chopped off.
In real life’s case, we’re the new friends who join (get born) into an already huge metropolis.
Roman Britain, or Britain had a population around 4 million at the time. Which would be the reason.. and also, citys begin from nothing. But I know your probably joking so yeah.
Absolutely amazing, such a fun way to learn a little bit about any place's history! Bravo!

Why would they do individual USA cities when there are still a lot more countries in the world?
Evolution of Manila ahould be made first after London.
There should be the Evolution of Glasgow for the next one. Not just individual US cities. No offense though but I do like to see the evolution of Glasgow.
@@ozgamerab8780 You're right, but these cities have their own style.

Nice! I was excited to see another history video with insane 3D animations and realistic scenery! These are the best 3D animation videos I have ever seen and they are really cool. Anyways, you should make a new video about the history of an extremely old place, like a city in India. I would love to see that and many others would like it too. Anyways, I'm uploading a reaction video of it on my channel soon because of how hyped I was to see the new video you uploaded.
I really love your work. Great way to educate on the history of a city. I saw you did a video on the tallest buildings in the world. I was wondering if you could do something similar to that being the history of the largest ships. Keep up the good work!
Proud of the cameraman, had to live for 1981 years to record this for us
Not only is this joke played out, like 15 other people said the same thing, so it's not even original for this one comment section. Give that sh*t a rest.

I really think Tokyo should be the next video
Keep it up bro these vids are amazing❤
This is easily one of the best videos on RUclips.
Manila, Philippines please many will watch it for sure
The problem is there is much less recorded history. If a video were made, it would mostly just focus on the last couple of centuries
Evolution of Berlin
Beautiful and divine. The best video about the evolution of London. My sincere congratulations to its author and to this channel for uploading this great work of art.
Greetings from Chile.
I watched the New York one a while back I’m happy there’s another and honestly if you only did this style of videos I would totally subscribe.I would love to see more of these types of videos like maybe LA or Las Vegas or Paris or even like Tokyo
Briliant video but I've got my next 4 video suggestion:
1: Evolution of Glasgow, Scotland
2: Evolution of Dublin, Ireland
3: Evolution of Edinburgh, Scotland
4: Evolution of Los Angeles, California
these videos take weeks to research and months to make, so all your suggestions are going to take him 5 years
As someone from Glasgow… are people really that interested in us?
@@adamsinclair1959 I'd imagine so. To be fair, Everyone constantly talks about Glasgow, but no way to slander it. You get mottos in Glasgow like "People make Glasgow" so people are really interested if you think about it, Some people might not be but I'd like to see a Evolution of Glasgow in InfoGeek's videos.
Can you do evolution of Sydney?

7:13 Another Great fire?
Amazing work, these evolutions of cities is definitely the most interesting, keep it going, I absolutely love how you divided the eras and how you incorporated appropriate music to it, that was great, really gives the feel of each time period, yes, so interesting how London was great during Roman time and then turn into a third world after Romans left, took a century or two to start everything from scratch basically, with new Anglo-Saxon people, I always wondered of the climate back then, was it the same like today, miserable and stormy throughout the whole year in the region (im from Ireland), or was the weather more mild 2000 years ago, I guess it was since the Romans who are mostly from Mediterranean decide to settle that far north. Please do other famous cities, Athens, Constantinopol, Alexandria, Sydney, San Francisco etc
