Entirely doable right now, actually. Probably even in VRChat! You just need a script that takes the raw Minecraft save file and rebuilds the map in memory then reprocesses the polygons of the boxes into contiguous quad planes that are part of the same mesh object in occlusion cells, but use a repeating texture for the UV seams of the individual blocks. The big hiccup in performance of Minecraft is the fact it loads *so many polygons at once*. Unity doesn't really like scenes with millions of objects in them, either. So if each MC cell is a mesh object (excluding the water plane) that solves that problem.
Honestly with how big some of his builds are, you're more likely to run into issues with subtle floating point errors than anything.
But yes, VRChat should be able to handle his builds as long as they're converted efficiently.

Fun fact: the word Kallípolis in Greek means "beautiful city" and the name was used for two Greek cities, one in southern Italy and one in Turkey, in fact both territories were inhabited by Greek colonies. Over time their name changed and they are both called Gallipoli (the Turkish city can also be called Gelibolu and is located on the Gallipoli peninsula, which was a theater of war during the Great War).

While I agree that this person is extremely talented and dedicated to his own craft, I think it takes a whole different level of effort and talent to do what people on hermitcraft and some other smps do. They do play in survival and even if they have some unlimited resources from farms (which they build themselves), not having creative flight makes building significantly more time consuming. They mostly do weekly uploads which limits time they can spend on each project, because they need to include a lot of other stuff but building, like interactions with other members, for viewers to stay engaged throughout the whole season. And to be fair, a lot of project built on hermitcraft over the years are comparable to this one and a bunch are more impressive in my opinion. There is a reason why at the start of every season their vidoes are in everyones feed. There is also a reason why this creator does not voice their videos, otherwise, he would be like an old version jeracraft. And if you are willing to reply, I will say right away, I will not read it if you don't use punctuation.

This triggered nostalgia hard, around 2014-16 there have been so many of such epic builds.
does anyone remember Pixelhive, loved the his weekly compilation of epic builds. the channel got renamed and all content deleted in 2017 or so.
But never the less, this build right here is outstanding even from other build I have seen so far, great job

its impressing how good your measurement is here. I cant even imagine how much time it took to plan the size of the map so the buildings are fitting perfectly without looking too big or to small

"Next time can you make the whole world into a city?"
    Thank you!

both with this and the babylon one, I enjoy how much detail goes into making the harbor look like it's actually being used - cranes, pulleys, warehouses, ships, even shipyards, etc
