Lets say i was working on a art project for about 3 months because its my hobby, i finished the project sold it and repeated it for a year, the results may be not as much as you expected but its something that i liked, its better than forcing yourself to do something that you dont like for an extra money, atleasy its still money, he have patreons and business mail, he can also earn from old videos as long as its monetized, so he can earn more than you calculated, we cant always do the most productive things in our lives.

Game studios should hire this guy as environment design lead artist. Imagine an MMO with a city like this, setting a sense of scale that makes you feel tiny in place of its grandiose.

There can be a point of diminishing returns, when you are small in a big world you can miss the Forest for the trees

You’ve combined millennia of architecture from the Fertile Crescent, sprinkled it with Ottoman/Arabic elements, and then you turned the dial to 1000 with this oasis/Babylonian fantasy of the hanging gardens through pixelated art of one of the most popular games on Earth. What a pleasure and an honor to see a master at work.
Don’t forget about the Taj Mahal wonder too
Ottoman? The first building was very clearly the Hagia Sophia, a Eastern Roman church. All the Ottomans added to it were the four blasphemous minarets.

Then watch trixyblocks or chrisdacow or the person who made equilibrium city. This build isn't the best at least because the author didn't make any research and mixed many unrelated cultures and centuries in one and my brain kinda died😬
@Нёх Собачкин what the fuck are you talking about? Who gives a shit about unrelated cultures and what not… the city is fictional for fuck sake🙄. They obviously took inspiration from many different places which lends to its creative brilliance.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude, this is insane! I was in awe from the moment you started building the outer wall, just from the sheer scale at which you were building. But then also being blown away by the amount of detail in each and every aspect of every building you included, and just how much you managed to squeeze into every little space available. Even if you didn't have all the villagers in it in the end, this really felt like an ancient city that was bursting at the seams with life at some point. I don't really have the words to express how amazing and pleasing this is so I'll just say this: excellent work~!
Incredible artwork of Babylon. Absolutely worth your 4.5 million views. Scaled to real life and even a 4070 could not avoid the pop due to it’s immense size. It was glorious all the same!
I don't think you can be labelled as a Minecraft Builder anymore... YOU NEED TO BE LABELLED AN ARTIST! HOLY COW THIS IS SO MOTIVATIONAL AND BEAUTIFUL!!

This is incredible. Truly, you're beyond a mere "minecraft builder" at this point. This is an artform. You've turned an idea into a creation, and Minecraft is simply your medium and canvas.
The only thing I would've changed would be to make the river and port larger and add a shit ton of farms outside the city along the riverbanks. Otherwise, I love the Atlantian-esque Babylon vibes. I can totally visualize the Hanging Gardens of Babylon living in the heart of this city. Great work!
Okay but the amount of detailing and texturing using those stairs to make it look more chiseled and handmade is super impressive
What i find most amazing here is the absolute mindblowing imagination that you have.
Not only to create those incredible massive constructions, but for the capacity to build completelly different types of buildings but keeping the same style.
I was really amazed when you were doing the houses. Most of us would do like 10 different houses and then copy/pasting them with wordledit. But you created a crazy amount of houses with completelly different forms and styles while keeping them together amazingly.
I promise you i was like: "man, he gotta stop doing more houses at some point and start filling the map". But you just kept going, and all of them look incredible.
Absolutelly mindlowing. Like fr. I've seen a lot, and it's hard to impress me with Minecraft buildings. But you sir, you definitelly impressed me.
Well, well done! You deserve much more recognition!

@Starfire did we ask
He actually replied with a thank you though, why does a heart matter
@Starfire fucking kids these days.... they'd rather see a stupid, meaningless little icon under their posts than get an actual, human typed reply of appreciation. Maybe I'm just getting old but I feel like a generation from now people are going to be so fucked in the head growing up thinking their entire credibility and self-worth is based around the amount of imaginary internet points they got, or based on how many stars/5 they hold. I still think the Black Mirror episode "Nosedive" is one of the best because of just how plausible and apparent it is we are moving in that direction.
I have just spend 17 minutes of my life in complete and utter awe
You must have incredible imagination to do something like this and not to mention patience and determination. This is insane.
As someone who has built many things in minecraft i can genuinely say this is pure art. I could never accomplish this tbh; this bros skill and determination are unrivaled. More kudos than I could ever muster go to this person. Just excellent

I'm blown away at how amazing this is. I may or may not have almost cried.
Just rewatched this. This is by far the most impressive minecraft build I have ever seen.
I never imagined things of this scale would ever be built in Minecraft but this is so impressively breathtaking.
You clearly haven't heard of those nutters that re-build the entirety of middle-earth to scale in minecraft, I take it?
Still, this IS impressive for one guy.
It really is amazing! As is MCME (Which RogThePirate mentioned and a server I visit from time to time) I think SciCraft are probably still the top dogs for Minecraft crazyness since their stuff is built in survival. Also Epicwork China is a creative build team that a lot of players don't know about but they have built some spectacular things.
Kudos to this person though... Building something like this solo is an endeavour.

I, a colleague who’s also an architect, must admit that even if the architecture is not accurate, the elements used definitely reminisce the Hanging Gardens in a way that anyone could relate Babylon to this without knowing it beforehand. This is just amazing.
@@vlad-im4499 Yes absolutly, ofc the hanging gardens are just known to us by imagine pcitures, not real evidence but I totaly agree
This was absolutely fantastic stuff! I'm not even interested about minecraft but was worth every minute spent. Great social experiment and story really well told. Thank you! 10/10.
This is exactly what I look for. Creating your own massive city all by the mind, putting words and thoughts into construction and architecture. You could take every building and put it into a buiiding kit where each building is placeable. Perfect themeing and a sight to see.
When they say “looking for game designer” in an add, this is what we need applying! Someone with such art and skill would do WONDERS!
When they say "looking for city planner" in real life, this is what we need applying!
More like "world designer" or "level designer" than a "game designer". But you could ask a game designer to invent different game mod ideas with that city.
Risk (imagine playing a game of thrones style in this kind of world), platforming, Survival multiplay RPG, PvE invasion, full history rpg, economic management simulation ... you can do whatever you want with this kind of level.
Environment artist, more like. It can't even be considered a "level" as the building process didn't involve considering gameplay. In fact, the building process WAS the gameplay.
@@khymaaren You're definitely right
environment artist/level designer =/= game designer

Bravo minecraft chad.
Imagine if our architects today had the creativity and support to allow the world around us to look so inviting.
Imagine if Dubai was actually a beautiful city with some babylon style. It could be so good but they failed so hard
Instead, architects always build the same, boring modern block buildings. It would be cool if there were architects like Timtenth who would build epic living buildings like the ones in the video. I really sometimes wonder why we as a society have in many cases stopped building representative buildings like a few centuries ago. Ok, we still build representative buildings, but they have a very clean look and little heat.
@@Eurograph Don't blame architects, blame tasteless billionaires/governments paying for it and creating the specifications. Everything now is about utility and cost-effectiveness, no money for 'wasteful' ornamentation. Some architectural masterpieces took several centuries to build even when they had the tools to build it faster and cheaper, especially the Gothic ones. Most great buildings of the past were religious or driven by a sense of high civic duty. None of that exists anymore.
@@davidb5205 They also used forced labor...AKA slaves...so it's pretty good it doesn't exist anymore, and religion ruins everything. Does way more harm than good. How much art and beautiful things have been destroyed because it doesn't fit into the fictional book someone worships
@@davidb5205 I agree with you that I cannot condemn all architects. But there are architects who are happy to support, even fuel, the trend towards modernity, and these can be denounced. I also agree with you that the picture is much more detailed than I have presented it. There are various actors involved in the construction of buildings. This ranges, as you said, from billionaires to city councils who are only after "the main thing is cheap and fast". The points you mentioned such as utility, cost efficiency, redundancy or time are also very important factors. It is also important to mention that crafts such as stuccoing, stonemasonry or thatching are dying professions. And those craftsmen who still exist can, of course, set their own prices for their craft due to the lack of competition.
Whereas I think that certain ornaments can certainly be produced industrially, as for example in the area of cast iron. And sandstones could be chiselled into shape by industrial robots. Of course, the disadvantage here is that individuality is also somewhat lost. Because where every stone used to look different, now all stones look the same. I would disagree with you on the point that there are no more social ambitions, such as religious ones or the "feeling of high civic responsibility". We have extremely strong competition between states, social systems and business enterprises. Buildings like the Burj Khalifa, the Three Gorges Dam, the Apple headquarters in Cupertino or the "May Day" stadium do not only have a utilitarian purpose, but, like the Cologne Cathedral, the Tower Bridge or the Pyramids of Giza, are supposed to represent the country and the people behind the buildings. The difference is that splendour is understood differently in our time: clear lines, sobriety, minimalism, tall large spaces, lots of glass and translucency.

You can tell the amount of thought put into this build sheerly based on the fact that you have actual Babylonian aspects of architecture scattered throughout the build.
Hard disagree there. When you call a build "Babylon", it shouldn't just have small (and they are small) scatterings of the actual place. The build has more Egypt, Greece, Rome, Mesoamerica, medieval Europe and islamic architecture (the mosque) than it does Babylonia.
