With the lightest weights added, do you think these wedges could be built to around a d4/d5 swing weight at plus 1.25 inch length in a stiff steel shaft? As you know, adding length adds a lot of swing weight, and it can be challenging to combat without making the total weight of the club extra heavy (adding weight at the grip end). Thanks in advance.

I taught this Four Magic Moves for 30 years and it is the best swing for amature players. Keep working on the swing you understand it so just keep working on it and the swing will work for you. On your woods don't get in a hurry make your shift to the left and swing 80%. Make many practice swings in slow motion and hit foam balls around the yard.

Seems the early wrist set wasn't typically taught then but is more common now (Malaska, Milo Lines do). Been working on this a while now and the results have been some solid rounds. Setting the flat lead/extended trail wrists then just turning is a great simplification of the swing, the simpler the better. If the weight shift is done correctly the arms can maintain structure and will naturally drop to the delivery position without any "pulling down". Keep the hands moving and ahead for ball first contact. Also doing some long low extension past impact drills helps (brush the ground a foot in front of the ball). The last piece of the puzzle for me is supination of the lead wrist from the delivery position to square the face, you can see it in slow-mo's of Rory, Tiger, Morikawa etc, I'm still working on that.

I am a THR golfer who plays 4 to 5 days a week and am huge into this incredible sport. I’m not discounting anything you’re saying here. And everyone is different. You have to realize, and mine was anterior, the muscle tissue around the implant/socket and its healing principle is what makes this a success. Also over a period of months there is bone rejuvenation around the prosthetic that takes up to nine months. Trust me not playing golf during the healing process is brutal, but I was in to much pain and suffering for too long playing on a bad hip to screw this up. My doctor stated that even the simple chipping motion before 6 to 8 weeks is still putting torque on the joint. My friend with THR, posterior, tried to play a full round at 6 weeks and he’s been laying down for a week now and can’t hardly walk. Just like you mentioned at the 6 week mark in your video about “over doing it”. The pain you were experiencing is your body telling you to stop. This surgery is serious business, there is a ton of trauma to the muscles, nerves and of course the bones all encompassing the pelvic area. As hard as it is to be patient, IMO, you’re crazy to rush back into golf after this, it’s 100% counter productive. It’s not worth neglecting a full recovery and being smart about it.

I fully agree! I built a pair of these wedges (52* narrower sole, bent to 53* loft, and 58* with the wider sole). I play these wedges along with my Maltby TS1IM irons as well as a TS3 48* gap wedge and they have performed well for me in all conditions over the past 9+ months. I have not tried the TS3, but if you were on the fence about whether you can play a blade, I urge you to try the TS4. I have the old TS1, and it’s a decent iron, but the TS4 is so forgiving for a blade and has superior feel than the old TS1. Hi, what implant did you have and was it cemented?

I'd have to dig out my records to be specific, but not cemented, titanium femur stem, ceramic ball and polymer socket.

I have used these shafts since 2022 when they were raw carbon and super wild looking. I love them and continue to use them. I wish they had kept the Raw carbon look to the shafts but they say too many people complained so they made the smooth second version. People say these shafts feel soft and whippy which they do- BUT so does Auto Flex AND because they are $700 a shaft no one questions this like they do with the $100 Steadfast equivalent.

I also have used many other shafts during this time and these are among the best I have tried.

I have read the book and put the theory into practice. I have found that it works great if you incorporate the early wrist break as you swing away from the ball and not as a separate move before you swing. Also, if you remain on the back foot on the forward swing you will hook the ball. If you get your weight over a slight draw is the usual shape. For me it just seems to give a feel of control of the club face.

I am 73 years old and have had both knees replaced in the last 2 1/2 years 5 months apart. Now my right hip is hurting and after x-rays have hip arthritis. Just got my first cortisone shot, but just like my knees i know i am facing a hip replacement this fall. Just trying to get through September. One tip the doctor told me is to flare my right foot outward at setup. Will do that when i start playing next week. I know the left foot flare is common, but not the right, which will put less stress on my right hip. If i can handle two knee replacements and come back to play good golf after three months, hopefully the same is true with the hip. Advice is to not get impatient, and work hard at rehab. It will pay off.

Good tip, thanks. And good luck with your hip!
