Navy Boot camp @ Great Lakes was a joke. Easy as hell. I went into the NAVY during Vietnam. After bootcamp I went to School A school at Great Lakes. I ended out becoming a SEAL . Which was extremely difficult in both training on both the body and mind. I was in great shape and It still was difficult. The mental aspect is just pushing yourself, never give up, always try to do better than you did before. Help any person who maybe having a difficult time esp mentally. Physically, try and talk to them when a chance arrives without causing yourself problems. Many times you are trying to encourage a man next to you who maybe struggling, and you may get your ass chewed out. But you are actually being watching on everything you do. Not just in the training, but also demonstrating leadership by helping a fellow trainee. As a SEAL you need to work closely with each other, it is the most important aspect of training. Being a recruit still try to have the mind set of pushing yourself first and then helping others. Each person has different strengths and weaknesses. Learning to help each other to strive to do better goes along way, but it's still up to the individual on what they want. You need to learn to push yourselve harder and further at every moment. I suggest if your going into the military to walk and run to strengthen your feet, legs but endurance. Do sprints. Also work on core and upper body strength. Do not go in over weight. If you are over weight, don't lose weight buy changing eating habits, you also need to exercise to gain muscle mass. You don't need to be extra muscular. Be able to do it least 20 pushups, always strive for 1 or 2 more reps. Do jumping Jack's, squat thrust, crunches. Do hand grip exercises also. Preparing yourself physically will also help you mentally. A good recruiter will help you and explain everything you need to know and answer all questions honestly. Not all recruiters are honest about enlistment, some are just trying to reach a recruitment quota. Always ask questions and as many as you feel is necessary. Ask a person who is in the military or Vet questions. Ask someone you may know to go with you to the recruiters office when talking to them about enlisting. Bootcamp is easy. Just listen, do what your told and without questions, unless they ask ,are there any questions. Bootcamp was so much different than it is today from when I enlisted, it is more relaxed LOL. Follow directions, don't complain, push yourself to be better each time a task is given. Try to help other when possible. There will be difficult recruits who may continue to cause problems or fall short of what is expected of them . If they continue not to help themselves, let it go. If you need help don't be afraid to ask others. There is going to be times of stress, you may not care for a particular person or each other. I guarantee at the end you all will be sisters and brothers. Good luck to all. 🇺🇸
Thank you! I leave for Bootcamp end of August n super excited but nervous! I’m studying n need work on running more.
Make more videos about daily life of electrician
Heading out on Tuesday morning for my fingerprints, job survey etc. Should be swearing into the DEP as well very excited but nervous!
Why have you stopped making videos at all?
Not weird🙂↕️
They told me. I had to go to a civilian doctor for my eyes and nothing was found so I gave my results to my recruiter. Will I need a consult despite going to a civilian optometrist?
It depends on the results you got at your appointment. I was sent to a civilian doctor from MEPS for a consultation, my results came back in about 2 weeks! You shouldn’t need another consult if they have all the info they need, best of luck!
@@briannawood2124 i recently contacted my recruiter and she said they tried to schedule me a consult and my recruiter had to cancel it because I already did an eye exam. Im guessing they didnt notice my recruiter sent them my medical documents. My recruiter and I was already waiting 3 weeks for them to respond... Such a sht show rn 🤦
Im planning to join soon i want to be head po i will probably end up going to Officer School when im able to
great video!! Heading out to bootcamp in 10 days and all the other videos people are super vague talking about BS
Haha thanks for watching! Hoping that this shows all the sides of bootcamp!
What personal items do they allow for women in bootcamp?
Do you know how long it takes to get approved it been since last week since my recruiter sent it In thanks
What are the leadership positions in bootcamp
why do they make you take multiple pee tests throughout?
I did steps 1 & 2 already ( all med docs submitted ) I didn’t go thru with the process but now I recontacted my recruiter and he said all of my stuff is in the system . So I’m guessing all they need to do is schedule me for meps ?
I ship out in two weeks y’all wish me luck😭
Hi is it 10 or 8 weeks thank you I leave Oct 23:)
I believe it’s now 10 weeks! Best of luck to you!
@@briannawood2124 yup ima die💀😭
Do they do another hearing and depth perception test . At boot camp on p days ?
Wait, so for the run, the requirement is something like 1.5mi in 13 minutes. But it's measured with a pacer test running back and forth between cones? How does that work? How does it convert?
Pacer test is like an entrance test, the PRT is a 1.5 mile in whatever time correlating to your gender and age
So now the 8 weeks now is ? week 1 : p days week 8 : grad
Do you know if you can switch into nuke while in bootcamp? They offered it to me, but I said no. But now I am thinking of switching out of HM into nuke.
Hello, I see very blurry on my left eye. Do you think they are going to disqualify me from joining the navy? Cause I’m completely blind on my left eye.
Are you planning on making a video outlining how Prototype works? These videos are SUPER helpful.
🫡
How many shots in total did you get? And how many girls slept in one room?
great video i ship off august 23rd you said um at least 100 times tho 😂
My fiance is paying for my plane ticket do you keep ur wallet or have to mail it back home?
You could keep your wallet
That's wild that they let you sleep when you first got there, because I was hanging on by a thread staying up for 36 hours straight. 😂
What time do you have to finish the mile and a half run in bootcamp for females ?What happens if you don’t make that time? Do you have any tips to help prepare?
Depends on your age but the youngest category is a 14:45, if you don’t make it you get rolled back in bootcamp so you stay until you can or they kick you out. Only way to really get better at running is to run and controlling your breathing
Hello, few questions. I myself am wanting to go into the NUKE program. Do you have any study materials I could have before I shipped out? I am just waiting and waiting for my date. I figured I could make my life easier once I get there.
I mean the only thing I would say would probably be like some algebra 2, some basic trigonometry, and I think you’ll be good. Until you know what rate you’ll be, it’s a little hard to figure out what I could realistically recommend! But all rates start with math, so math math math!
I want to go for RPOC first but i’m afraid of messing up and losing it at the beginning and not being able to try again. What was your experience like for that amount of time and any tips?
I was the first one to volunteer and I didn’t really have any clue what I was doing other than being yelled at then relaying orders. I didn’t enjoy being responsible for all the stupid stuff my division did, and I was fired for not being on time after doing something I was told to do haha, if you want to do it you just need to be confident in everything you do
For the official PFA, do you have to run the whole time? What if you get tired? Etc..
You can walk, your RDCs will just keep yelling at you to run
I had subway lol at meps and hotel nachos
This was very helpful
So glad to help!
I ship out June 28🎉
Thank you for your video. How long were you up till you were able to sleep
I discovered your channel for information on boot camp and I’m also going to ship out in 4 weeks as a female nuke recruit so I’m really happy to see you make this video 🫶
So glad to see more and more females on their way in! Hope you have a great time!
Welcome back 🙏 ❤
crazy we joined the navy at the same time , I watched your vids 2 years ago when I was joining. I’m a MA so my a school was way quicker and been in the fleet for over a year now. But I heard you guys get paid a lot of money. Do you like being nuke? Did you enjoy your a school? Where you getting stationed? Hope all is going well
We get paid well for mostly 20 year olds, I actually really enjoy being a nuke. It’s hard, but life’s been good. I have soft orders to Washington for the summer! Hope your time has gone good!
Can you talk about the days you get to write your family’s ?
What about them?
How many shots did they give to you?
Do you do the 1.5-mile run in addition to the pacer test for the pfa's
Not in addition to, pacer was for the first pfa and then we ran the 1.5 mile for the two prts after that
@Brianna Wood thank you for the quick rewponse. So just to confirm all I will do is the push up, the plank and the pacer laps from cone to cone after P Days. And then I do the 1.5 mile officially for the RDC test?
Yes
How many questions are on the dept test at bootcamp ?
It’s like 30ish from what I remember
Do you remember how many questions they ask about the general orders?
Like 4-5
Thank you
How many questions do you have to get right to pass ??
Thank you for the info! I know you get 3 guaranteed calls. Are you able to make other calls to loved ones? If so, how early can I expect to hear from them?
You get 3 time slots and you can call whoever during that time, your division might earn more time
@@briannawood2124 thank you! Do you remember around what week you were able to make your first call? I’ve been patiently waiting for a call but I feel like it won’t be until a few weeks in :/
It should be the weekend of week 2
@@briannawood2124 thank you for your help!!
Hi Brianna , my daughter will be graduating on Wednesday, I’m a little confused on how the transportation going to be ( for A school ).Do they provide the transportation to the airport or my daughter would have to look for that her own, sorry if I’m not explaining myself good
They will provide her with transportation to A School! It’ll be a flight, or by bus depending on where she is going but she should know by her last week to let you know!
@@briannawood2124 thank you 🙏
@@briannawood2124 oh I think she is going to Texas , but from base to airport would they provide transportation?
Yep
@@briannawood2124 thank you so much beautiful ❤️
All you need to know is get some sleep the night before you arrive because trust me those first two days sleepy fucking blows that's fucking hell ... I never fell asleep standing before.
Shitty Drama filled Division, but great RDC's..fucking same. Just graduated and waiting to be shipped to Charlston. Can't wait to leave Great Lakes..not that NNPTC will be any better. Great overview.
NNPTC was alright haha, just reported to prototype, it’s been so much better
My daughter starts prototype.she’s been there since 09/21. Go nukes!
I start next week! Go nukes!
