Hi Sam. In 1929 Virginia Woolf, British author, lecturer at Cambridge (even though women were not allowed to use the library 😢) spoke about “…having a room of ones own …”. Having a room or sheep 🐑 🐑🐑 of one’s own reminds me of women having to struggle for so long in so many ways. Wolfe was a privileged woman ahead of her time. Even privilege and wealth did not guarantee her own “room”. Now you have your room‼️ And your delightful little ones. Stay healthy. Your uncle Jimmy is most likely at your side. I knew you wouldn't settle sam without your own little flock, as you could see you wasn't fully convinced on the idea, when you spoke about taking some out of the flock you had at home, plus i completely understand why as they would never be your "own", in that sense even though you both own them, they where bought for your business and not for you to play around with and breed ect, plus take them shows and make a name for yourself in your own right! You looked so over joyed to now have your own little flock sam and congratulations! I wish you all the luck in the world with them and i hope they bring you all the happiness and success with what you have planned for and dreamed of all this time! Plus i can't wait to sit and watch it all unfold! The prices in this video where reasonable and not silly high like I've seen on other channels! Well some beeds when high but not all of them 🎉🎉🍾🍾🥂🥂🐑🐑🥳🥳🍻🍻 plus sam after watching at bit more you shouldn't be forced by the government for farmer that own the land that the sheep graze have now got use 10% of the land to plant trees, shurbs and hedges plus 10% for wildlife! for your to be able to get substances or if they done plant then they loose that subs! It's all wrong! If then never cut as many trees down as they do then there wouldn't be the need for all this end end of! It's so sad to see all the older generation taking this way out of just giving up farming altogether! People are beings forced out if everything they have know there holes lifes, plus there children don't want to take over to be faced with all this! Farming is hard enough on it own with the prices of everything as it is!

Same has happened in New Zealand, but there is a shortage this year of ewes, so this year we are only sending to the meat company ewes that haven't raised a lamb. We usually sell 2ths at the Annual ewe fair, but we will sell our older ewes late summer.

Having fond memories of your uncle is good and getting praise from someone who knows your farming history obviously meant a lot to you. Hopefully your sheep do well for you in the years ahead. I look forward to seeing your merch come available. 10 k by the end of the year ought to be achievable. Getting a chance to chat to Cammy and Iona on the Fed by Farmers podcast must have boosted numbers a bit. Oliver is fast on that quad bike. He should be wearing a helmet, those things are the cause of many serious and fatal accidents on farms. He will be too arrogant to accept the need to wear one no doubt.

Your face and the joy at having your own sheep again brought me to tears and when the farmer that sold them to you and relayed the story of your uncle Jim I was just howling god rest his soul he is up there watching over you that's why you got them he made sure his Sam got her sheep. Clearly he was a big part of your life as your emotions were very real and touching he meant a great deal to you. I believe when the time is right it's when things happen for a reason. You work hard for what you have as does your whole family. I laughed when you said that Oliver would steal them. The luck of the Irish be with you and your new flock from me to you.

The sheep look pretty smart. I think you did well. You are lucky to live in such a close knit community. How many did you buy?, I did try to count them. Beltex, good plan, smaller lambs = easier lambing for shearlings.
