@SSFARMING5 a 6 wheeler load per batch 6 stringers, we bought 2nd grade straw as it was going through straw chopper anyway, so that's to knock off. We went up to £5 a pig in 2nd year, 1200 pigs roughly 6k per batch minus the straw
I was thinking, a bit of role reversal, ie taking it in turns to be the gopher or the tractor driver, and who knows, Oliver could be looking very fit and a lot less grumpy. By the way, very satisfying hearing the ping when cutting the strings on the Hesston bales. Great that you have the support of family. You do hear about quite a few problems with Moseys tbf. In my area (Ryedale/ near Pickering malton) most people have gone away from Moseys despite being very local to Moseys base. Plenty of other pig companies out there though, Eg Yorkshire Farmers, Cranswick, Carrow etc and they’re always keen for people as long as the pigs get looked after right.
@charlesscaling9466 we tried Cranswick and he came had a look and said no. Will try others. I have a feeling it's our location though. Yes a lot of people went out of them when we did do we thought something had maybe gone wrong somewhere. We do look after our stock well and would look after someone else's even more so. Thanks!
@ well the pig industry was pretty dire for a long time with everyone making big losses so they might have just reduced stock numbers for a period. Just sucks if you’re one of the ones that gets kicked off but I suppose the beauty of B and B pigs is they aren’t as capital intensive as other livestock such as poultry or dairy so easier to get in and out of.
@charlesscaling9466 yes I agree! Cost us 1000 per feeder and the water troughs were maybe 500 for all of them and gates and preparations were hardest bit. But yes good for that way .in and out . X

Hi Sam it's looks like a long 2025 with Oliver let hope he gets a happy smile for a few times then again he can't always be happy hope you all have a wonderful new year and you get all you won't good video again my girl 😊 😊😊😊😊😊did you look into a top don for getting your tractors running
Can u not get pigs from a driffrent pig company?
We've tried and unfortunately location was an issue.
so you are saying it was your fault Oliver that the wheel burst because you saw a break shoe on the road and didn't stop to pick it up Hehehehe
@TifJones-p8s 🤣🤣 both our faults now 😃💪🙌
Sam, if you film content which provides evidence, it could be used against you. Just an extra five minutes of editing and remembering to put your seatbelt on.
Thanks 😃
But sam you are the gaffer tell him to get off his hars
He wants a woman who stays in the house living the good life he'll soon have you back sam only joking lol😮
🤣🤣🤣🤣 he can jog on
he treats you so badly some time why is that me and my partner of 18 years i never got grumpy with her very rare she kept me in line before i started it broke my heart when i lost her to cancer it wants i bigger bloke to give him a good kicking your to nice to him
Oliver gets a bit gruff at times but when you get him to explain he usually makes good sense. The way he looks at your kids says it all though.
He's he loves them 💕 he probably explains things better than me 🤣
Toasted teacakes with lashings of butter and a big mug of strong Yorkshire tea and a good laugh is my idea of a good day
Oliver ❤you really
Another informative video explaining about the pigs and how the B&B works

I do miss them 🤣😍 he likes the bottoms I like the tops🤣🤣
@@Sam-shuttfarming I may have told you in previous videos that I am able to buy British meat
My pork chops are from Packington Free Range Pork, Barton Under Needwood, Staffordshire
It’s by car around 30 minutes away
But as I’ve not been well enough to drive recently Ocado stock it
Again not cheap but quality is top notch
2 chops £7
My Beef is from Hawksmoor brand from - British cattle
The beef just melts in your mouth
Fillet £25 but I cut it into 3 pieces and freeze it
We cannot continue to buy cheap food
I remember as a kid growing up in the 70’s it was seasonal food
I never saw 🥝 or different types of melon or avocados 🥑
And you had the butcher, baker and candlestick maker in your local village and town and my mom🙏🙏🙏would shop every day
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I Need farm job am hard worker with tractor driver
You complain about car's you should have thought about that before yous took the farm on the road is a public road going straight through your farm yard and a very dangerous place to be raising your children something yous should have thought about and not be crying about it now.
Farms are hard to get. And this is the perfect farm for us. We no the land inside and out we adapt to the farm and we have 😃
Driving through farm’s is it not respectful to drive with caution ⚠️ after all are they not producing food for the country so a little respect costs nothing BIG up to the farmers ❤
