Father and Son React to Mad Max 1980 for the First Time
Here is our reaction to Mad Max from 1980. Father thought he'd seen this one but was wrong. So this is pretty much a first time reaction for the both of us. I think we both want to see the next in the series!!

Sorry we've been gone so long. Our schedules weren't lining up and it got to be more frustrating than fun to do reactions there for a while. But we are back now, recharged and ready to go. In this video we kinda explain what was up and ask for suggestions for future reactions. Thank You to our subscribers for hanging in there. We really appreciate all of you!!

Today we thought we'd do a comedy. We really haven't reacted to a funny movie and I didn't realize Thoren didn't know who Chris Farley or David Spade were! Today we change that! Thank you for your support in helping us reach 1000 subscribers on our channel! We are so happy you are part of our little community! Thoren is back from Vacation and we thought it would be cool to do a Firefly Reaction on New Years Eve. A little quality time to close out the year. I'm a huge Sleep Token fan but haven't heard much before Sundowning. Today we are changing that. I'm going to go through the One and Two EP's starting with Fields of Elation. I'm kinda scared that I won't like some of these as I tend to not go back much past Jaws. I also tell a bit about myself and my relationship with music in general. I'm trying to find more music I connect with. #sleeptoken ...

  • @Elixear
    @Elixear 18 дней назад

    3:12 C'est un décor, une plateforme flottante géante. Les sous-marins immergés et les fonds marins sont des maquettes. Les sous-marins sont suspendus à des câbles fixés sur des rails et mus électriquement au milieu du décor, notamment la scène du passage du canyon.

    50:13 Presque mais pas tout à fait. Deux ans avant T2, James Cameron faisait une première tentative de modélisation liquide dans Abyss avec l'eau de mer (désolé pour l'éventuel spoiler, je ne sais pas si vous avez vu Abyss donc ne pas faire lire ce commentaire à Thoren au cas où :) ). Et en 1993 et 1994, c'est vraiment le moment où le CGI va prendre une autre dimension avec les incroyables trucages de Jurassic PArk (1993) et de Forrest Gump (1994) notamment (6 Oscars), qui vont devenir la référence pour tout le monde. Tous ces films sont passés par ILM qui est le point commun entre eux en terme d'effets spéciaux. Merci George Lucas donc. P.S. : De mémoire, le trucage de la "goutte" de métal liquide entrant dans l'hélicoptère avait coûté un million de dollars de l'époque. C'était la première fois qu'une scène atteignait ce chiffre astronomique pour un plan de moins de 10 secondes d'effet spécial numérique. Ca a fait la une de l'actu, même jusque dans les journaux télévisés, en France en tous cas.

    47:19 Ce n'est pas sa bouche, c'est sa langue, mais elle est un peu spéciale, elle est mobile, flexible et... elle a des dents. Cet étrange idée, comme tout le reste de la créature et son système de gestation, sont le fruit du cerveau délirant du sculpteur et dessinateur suisse Hans Rudi Giger, dans les moindres détails anatomiques ou esthétiques.

  • @Elixear

  • @Elixear
    @Elixear 18 дней назад

    24:07 Cette scène a été préparée en secret entre Ridley Scott et John Hurt, qui étaient (à l'exception des techniciens présents sur le plateau), les seuls à savoir ce qui allait se passer. Aucun(e)s des autres acteur(trice)s n'avait été mis au courant du trucage. Le corps de John Hurt est un mannequin pendant l'extrusion du xénomorphe et les techniciens manipulateurs planqués sous la table, poignée électrique et poches de faux sang en main. Le reste est le fruit du hasard, notamment les directions qu'ont prises les projections du sang... Regardez à nouveau la scène et observez attentivement Veronica Cartwright (Lambert) en particulier, elle ne fait pas semblant du tout et c'est un coup de génie du réalisateur.

  • @Elixear
    @Elixear 18 дней назад

    15:36 Pour l'anecdote, ce qu'on voit à l'image est en partie constitué de véritables abats de bovins maquillés et disposés dans l'oeuf translucide fabriqué spécialement par les artistes-décorateurs du film (L'ensemble des trucages du film est montré et expliqué dans le Making Of officiel, je vous le conseille vivement, c'est aussi captivant que le film lui-même).

  • @Elixear
    @Elixear 18 дней назад

    3:06 Le plateau fut entièrement construit à l'échelle et en une seule unité. Toutes les parties du Nostromo ou de la navette de sauvetage se trouvent réunies et les acteurs ont tourné en situation. Un extrême réalisme avait été exigé des techniciens, et même les faux ordinateurs de bord avaient des cadrans fonctionnels où des chiffres défilaient. Les planètes et les étoiles sont des peintures. La surface de LV-426 est à l'échelle 1/2 et l'intérieur du vaisseau alien également (Les acteurs en scaphandre sur tous les plans larges étaient des enfants pour donner l'illusion d'une échelle 1). La salle des oeufs, le poste de commande alien, le Nostromo et la navette de sauvetage sont des maquettes réduites. L'araignée "fécondeuse" et le bébé alien sont des animatronics (pantins animés électriquement à distance). L'alien adulte est un acteur -danseur en costume. Tout est absolument réel dans le film, le "CGI" n'existait pas. La réussite de ce film repose presque exclusivement sur sa photographie.

    I have to commend the writers for their obvious research into Victorian era American slang. They did very well. To go heels : To wear a gun Get the bulge : To get the advantage over someone. I'm your huckleberry : I'm the man for the job A daisy : A good thing (Ain't that a daisy). You're a daisy if you do : You're a badass if you can pull this off Two mistakes Nobody said hello as a greeting until the 20th Century. Until then, people said, "Good morning" or "Good evening". The word hello did exist, but it was used as an exclaination of surprise. "Hello! Look what I found here!" The F word was used back then, regarding the actual sexual act. Doc uses it as an intensifier, which may have happened but most people didn't say it like he did. Final thought: Ike was a typical bully who backs down when confronted. All talk.

    This movie is iconic. Popular umoung punk rockers at the time. The Road Warrior continues presumably a couple years later. Society has truely fallen at that point and Max is really just on scavage/survival mode. EPIC movie. Thunderdome is finally a big budget film. Anyone still alive huddles around Barter Town with its power struggles. Also, a small lush oasis exists inhabited by a large group of kids stranded from a plane crash, who encounter Max and look to as a savior/captain Walker.. 😂 so, the movie has a toned down kid friendly kind of vibe that doesn't merge the best with the wasteland theme of RW. Still some great performances and stunts.

    I know it seems a bit odd now, but for those of us old enough (I grew up in the 80's and I'm Australian) this was great for it's time and has since become a cult classic, especially for the franchise, it is really a must to know why the man is, who he is. Oh, and thanks for not watching the US audio overdub version.. it is terrible!!! The motorcyclist stunt person that got hit in the back of the head was for a long time understood as being killed in that scene on the bridge, but I do believe he actually did survive and is ok, but it was a nasty impact. I think number two will redeem the age and shortcomings of this movie, but I think should should try to get through the franchise if you think it's worth it.. even number three, another odd one, was big for its time, the actors, the custom soundtrack hit from Tina Turner etc, it has its place. Interesting fact - "Filmed on a budget of A$400,000, it earned more than US$100 million worldwide in gross revenue and set a Guinness record for most profitable film. The success of Mad Max has been credited for further opening the global market to Australian New Wave films." Thanks for watching them, good to have you back. Cheers.

You did something many people do when watching a movie: you expected the movie to kiss your ass. Instead the movie kicked your ass and you hated it for it. Not cool. I cringe for you. By this time you should have been a more hardcore movie watchers and thus get this type of movie. No excuse to still be amateurs. I dare you two to rise up. I dare you.
