That place has been abandoned since I was little. I’m 30 years old now. I curious why nobody purchaced the property yet. Also my friend got caught a few years back trying to sneaked into that place and a bunch of cops swarmed inside and arrested him even though I told him countless times not to go inside. Glad I didn’t go inside with him.

The flowing background at the start looked like something I'd see in the credits of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Even its music almost sounds similar due to the synths (change my mind). Unless if it was the main inspiration.

My mother worked here in the early 1970’s when it was the Dutch Inn. It was a beautiful place back then.

Hi Marc--this is helpful, thank you. I bought the dig defense system a while ago, but installing in my hard, rock-filled ground is tough. Here's my question: on another site, I saw that they recommended installing on the outside of the fence. But it looks like you installed on the inside?

I can't believe they want to turn this place into senior housing. Nothing screams senior housing like asbestos and stairs. I remember I broke my leg in 8th grade and had to be dropped off in the back because that was the only accessible entrance. Also, the only elevator is in the middle of the school and it was janky as hell. Its sad that this place has sat for over 7 years, im surprised its still in a good condition and hasnt been completely vandalized.

Thanks. I'm going to make English trifle for a tea party and this helped me make my decision pudding vs custard. In the past I used Birds but time will use snack pack vanilla pudding. Easier, seems the right consistency and with added ingredients, should taste as good as custard and I'll save money and time.

I've driven past this place hundreds of times, with that lonely cadillac still rotting away inside. I'm not surprised that it was left sitting, given the Northstar V8's tendency to blow head gaskets. I seem to remember there was also a white C3 Corvette stored inside at one point.

Thanks, Marc, for making the video. We just moved into Royal Mills, and love the fact that the mill was converted into housing. This helps preserve forests and farms. It would be nice if Hope Mills could be transformed.

Rhode Island has a rich industrial past that's slowly fading away. Or, rather, burning away. While another of our historic mills in Woonsocket was lost this week, what's left of the Hope Mill in a small Scituate village still stands. At least, for now.
