There's no shortage of cheap fence windows you can buy to give your dog a view of the world beyond their yard, but most of them are just flawed plastic bubbles that won't stand up over time. This window I designed myself works with any solid one inch thick fence, but it's specifically designed to work with vinyl fencing, which usually comes with it's own whole set of unique challenges. This fence window is easy, relatively inexpensive, you can build it with some fairly simple tools, and without any complicated measuring or cutting. It's almost ready! I'm actually trying to finish it up for tomorrow! Summer came and went too quickly last year, and I didn't finish it in time. So I just decided to wait until spring.
Thank you for making this video! This is exactly what we were looking for. Do you have any suggestions on how to make a privacy flap to go over this window and what material to use? We want to build this window for one of our pup to observe people on the nature trail that goes behind our house, but other pup prefers to bark instead of observe.
Hopefully your pup will enjoy it! I think the best way to make a removable privacy block would be to cut a rectangle of the vinyl trim material (or plywood or anything the same thickness as the casing around the screen) to fill the opening, and hold it in place against the screen with four "full turn buttons." The buttons are similar to the rotating clips that hold the back onto a picutre frame in place against the glass, and would make it easy to insert or remove from your side of the fence.
You could mass market these and probably make some $$. Sell them to fence companies. I'm getting ready to have my fence replaced and I would love it if the fence company could just throw a couple of these into the the project for me.

Did you ever release the video about the anti dog digging build at the bottom of the fence? I am looking for it!
