RCA plugs - noise blockers / caps revisited!

What is amplifier burn-in and what are the benefits?
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.12 часов назад
This video comes as an answer to questions that were popping up here and there after my amp reviews. The burn in for analog circuits is real, sometimes its more noticeable, sometimes less. But its there. Not so much with purely digital devices, but thats different story. So, how do I do this and why do I do this? Watch the video and find out!

    The layout of my system (and especially the wiring) is centered around two monoblock power amps. So, when I got tired of my 20+ year old tube monoblocks needing yearly maintenance, I looked on Ali to find replacements. Although there are FM Acoustics clone monoblocks on Ali, some of them are quite expensive. I came VERY close to buying TWO of the FM300 and using them just to run one channel per side-which I suppose would be the equivalent of the dual transformer single chassis version, and even with doubling the cost, this still would have been a relatively inexpensive option and still fit in with the wiring of my system. But I didn't for the simple reason that my 200+lb speakers require high current (my tube monoblocks were 300+ wpc) and I was uncertain that even when ran in the single-channel mode if the FM300 would have enough grunt. So, in the end, without any previous owner feedback I took the gamble and got a pair of Goldmund 29M 'clones' that have 350 wpc into the 4-ohm load of my speakers. These have proven to be wildly successful and in some ways match or even slightly better my $25,000 tube amps. For a cost of $1800, including taxes and shipping. I got the version with the upgraded filter capacitors (a $200+ option). Before I bought these I went around and demo'd power amps in the local 2nd hand market in the $2000+ price range, and none of these came close to what these 29M clones do. I suppose the price of these are somewhat higher than the amps you tend to buy to review on your channel...but if you did want to take it up another notch, these come highly recommended. BTW I have owned solid state power amps up to $30,000 in the past and while I cannot compare them directly, they are in the same system. And I can say that these amps give up very little compared to them. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805946236269.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.85.5fcb1802Szadmx&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

      If you don’t want to give that information out publicly, can we maybe contact by email? Personally I have no qualms about this if a western company goes to China and produces a product that it sells for $3000 US. When somebody else can sell it for 250 that first company is gouging. That is a ridiculous price - the higher one. I have some experience importing for makers overseas, although not electronics . And you’re quite right this is just an additional production run, but they will be careful. They will check for patent to see if there’s anything they shouldn’t put there because they don’t wanna lawsuit. Recall at one point you could go to the factory that made Ping golf clubs and by the heads of a set of golf clubs that cost something in the order of $3000 just by coincidence and you can get them for 200 or 150. This is been going on for a really long time and I don’t think the shady side is all on the overseas manufacturer. I think as much of it is on the marketing company that has the product designed for them and then just sell it for ridiculous amounts of money . Otherwise they would be no for fakes

I bought this model because through several sources I received information that they have an excellent value for money... and so it is. Considering the money invested in the other components; Amplifier, DAC, CD Player, and above all, Music Server, and in the cables used to connect them, these Wharfedale 12.2 are below what the equipment requires... but I’m enjoying them so much right now. @@k4syx It's 93dB but I think the power is needed for this speakers (3 way system: 27mmtweeter, 16,5 cm midrange, 3x18cm woofers) I have a very good Kinki Studio EX-M1+ amplifier (2x200W 8Ohm) and I would buy either a tube or a pure class A amplifier (Pass, Accuphase...clone?). Or maybe a tube preamp. Thanks!

    • @k4syx
      @k4syx 3 дня назад

      @@csszabi8779 these are 40W per channel max, but your speakers are highly efficient, so you'll be fine. Also, tube amps are current efficient and this helps with driving speakers. This amp will give you tube magic in spades, but without putting "warmth" detail masking blanket on your speakers. Class A is close, but not there yet in this regard so it's best to have two amps and just switch them when the mood comes.

    Yes I have a question: 🙂 why not? 🙂 your speaker system here I cannot see how you do this explane and show perhaps mere precise if you like. I only have two ports how can I connect two wires four poles? etc. I think I know but want to be sure. ;-) Burn in: I use a classical radiosender 24/7 it has all kinds of music and talk I think this is most diverse sound and only so when I'm gone and just not to loud so that neighbors don't hear it.

      @@onnonugteren2935 yes that's also fine and will work as well, it will just take longer for the same hours count. Connecting speakers of phase helps with running them quieter, but it doesn't matter if you leave the house :)

    I rebuilt my amplifier (Pioneer SA7800) out of: 2sc3519 & 2sa1386 OP 2sc4793 & 2sa1837 Driver BC639 & BC640 (will be changed to 2sc1845 and ksa992f, and some higher current voltage stage will be KSC3503 and KSA1381E) The only advatage that those know is that they have lower Cob, its not 7pf like bc639 and bc640 have, its only 1.6pf on 2sc1845 and ksa992f and those ksc's have 1.8-2.6pf. which means it gonna have lower noise in my prediction, for now i have a bit of noise in this unit which i can hear.
