@Sweetaccord I know that it's the latest greatest. Have you tried or do you own both of them? In one review that I read on AliExpress, the person described the PD5 as warmer-sweeter and the PD6 as flatter, which I know can be a good thing unless it's sterile sounding. Thanks for your help.
I have the Hidizs S9 Pro. The amp is powerful but power hungry. I feel the dac isn't as dynamic as my Sanskrit 2 but noticeably better than the Samsung S10 dac.I think I paid $130. It drives my M570 planars quite loudly and it has completely quiet background with my Fearless Freedom S8 IEMs. I'm not a dac collector. 😅
@@carlsitler9071 this one is quite nice when it comes to power consumption, I should've mentioned that it stays cool under load and I haven't noticed any irregular phone battery power loss. That's important and worth mentioning!
Yeah its a common problem with iPhones. You'll need something thats called "camera adapter" if I recall correctly, the idea is to have a splitter that will allow you to use power bank. Its not very convenient as in "portable" then, but it works.
@@matthewhilty4209 Buttons are very nice when you want to change song or volume with device in the pocket. Useful thing. As for Sabre vs AKM I love both. They're on pair when it comes to detail, but AKM usually has slightly more natural vocals, while Sabre gives you a tad bit more clarity. So it's more like flavors to match your music, it's good to have both options handy
@@scouserUA changing filters gives very subtle effect, I don't think Titans are transparent enough. It takes planar, good planar, to hear these small differences
@@MrSler Very good question! E1DA is better for planars (more powerful) but I wouldn't use it with my mobiles because it's a power hog. It's better for PC use. Also, E1DA is larger, has no controls and has sharp edges and glossy finish. These all IMHO make it desktop only solution.
Ah I asked you when are you going to stop with the good reviews and you simply didn't answer. Why? Planning 'some' more? 🙂 Knowing your reviews now I'll probably will buy this. But one question first: is this not a very good device for my Samsung tablet which doesn't has a headphone socket? Will this not also be a good device to cable it with a loudspeaker with a battery to listen to it outside? Greetings from the Netherlands again and if your wife let allows you doing so too, for me you can go on and on with the good work here. 🙂
@@onnonugteren2935 Hi! This is great device and it will be my reference all in one portable for testing IEMs. It will work great with your tablet, get Neutron Player or UAPP and this setup can beat many desktop sets. For outside use, I don't know how much outside is outside: do we need waterproofing? Can it fall down? For sound quality you'll be perfectly fine outside too, just check if there's no danger to damage the PD5. Wife's fine now, as long as I not hurting family budget AND boxes will be stored outside the apartment then its okay ;D
All DAC's sound like shyte straight out the box! I don't know how people think they sound good when connected to a sound source such as your powerful cell phone! They all need and must use an EQ in order for any DAC to sound to it's glory.... Not using and EQ makes music sound plain and lame and the best EQ app for any Android phone is Wavelet, this app UNLEASHES the full potential to any portable DAC dongle!!!! GUARANTEED....
@@MrLaloman18 i like wavelet, but it's something not needed in every single scenario. With good source, good amp and headphones, your setup will sound excellent without eq :)
Another one with the same chip is the Colorfly CDA-M1P tuned a bit more towards smoothness and palpability and a bit less detail and soundstage.
Listening to this on my Onix Alpha xi-1 and NiceHCK ebs2 pro and the sounds from your house seem to come from my house.

Have you also heard the PD6 's as well. Someone said that these have sweeter sound. I just wondered if you had heard the PD6' s?
PD6 is better than PD5

I bought one of these. It works like a champ on my iPad mini with USB C port, but will not power up on an iPhone with Lightning port. Any ideas?

I have a Questyle M15 but I kinda want buttons, I have heard the AK is smoother than my current mode ESS. Something to think about.
