You are showing and recommending an older version of the Audioquest Cinnamon, as the newer ones have only printed text on the plugs. I want to buy it used, so is this older version similar to the newer one when only used for i2S audio connection?
Yes these are older. They have recently refreshed the whole line (maybe because of the fakes?) and everything new looks slightly different. As for IIS you'll be perfectly fine as it never reaches data transfer rates possible with 4k HDMI picture + audio. Meaning that we can only benefit from excellent shielding this cables need to have.
True, thought there will be quality differences also between different hdmi/i2s cables due to the shielding. I tried a cheap one which I didn't like at all, and definitely not in a highend system.
Aliexpress, but there are tons floating over ebay and any local classifieds. When I was buying second hand AQ cables I got only those that came with original invoice from local authorized distributor
Could you sacrifice one of the fakes to slice open so we can see cross section of the cable . It would be interesting to see what they use for sheilding if anything at all .
I could, but I dont think theres a need for that: if youll look at my other AQ fake cable reviews (speaker, power cables) youll see that these are basically 1:1 clones, or some kind of "night shift" work. I'm pretty sure these HDMIs are leaving exactly the same place thats the source for speaker and power cables....

A HDMI cable costing more than $30 is already a scam. Unless it's an active fibre optic cable for long runs of 10 meters plus. The biggest fake and scam of all is the genuine Audioquest cable costing $100s and $1000s that do nothing.
There are no fake Pearl HDMI cables. Only Firebird, Thunderbird en Vodka HDMI fakes. The photos on the Audioquest website are not always up to date (their own words)
Great video ! I just bought an fake Vodka HDMI cable. I do also have original Cinnamon and Chocolate HDMI cables, using with Apple TV's with Meridian equipment (HD621). What is your opinion on a vodka HDMI like in your video, against original Cinnamon or Chocolate HDMI ? Would the fake one really be beter ? Are you making a video someday, opening a cable ? Like you did in your other fake AQ cable video's ?
Hi! Sorry I've missed your comment. I do have original Cinammons too, I havent done comparison yet. I dont think I will be cutting these to see whats inside: I am opening speaker and interconnects as they have removable plugs though. Here the problem is that originals also have moulded plastic stuff so even if I will cut them open, there still be no original to compare it with fake (who will volunteer to cut his original Vodka? :))
@@k4syx Hi, thanks for your message, I understand. What is btw your opinion of the fake vodka vs the original cinnamon ? Would love to know your thought, thanks

What would be your preference for a longer 2-2.5m run from Apple TV 4K to OLED? Cinnamon? I currently am using 1M Firebird until I need it for I2S.

Well done again. :-) Yes administration is a necessity in this matter. Perhaps in many ways too. 😞 Greetings again from the Netherlands. 🙂

Where do you get those fake ones from! I wonder if the one i bought is fake drive it wasn't fron audioquest directly

Surely Audioquest must be trying to get these off the market? I don't understand how they are still allowed to openly sell fakes these days.
The answer lies in that this is economical warfare. Unfortunately. 😞 Be not naiv about China.
I don't know. They moved their production there, also the law in China is different. Just look for all these Microsoft stuff sold on Ali.
