    I have a master's degree in electrical engineering and specialize in RF.
    There is no such thing as a directional wire. Pure and utter nonsense.
    I've seen microwave cables in multimillion dollar antenna arrays that are less complicated than this BS.

    Even after auditioning 3 separate AVR's, the same ambient sound of the room was still present! That told me the unwanted faint background signal noise I had been experiencing had nothing to do with the actual units. Therefore, my attention changed to the cables. And even then It was only on the third occasion after I finally purchased shielded cables that the noise floor within my small room finally came down to satisfactory levels.
    Unshielded cables often act as antennas for attracting RF, and the longer the cable, the better the antenna. Probably explains why when I used to disconnect my heights and surrounds within 10 minutes, the faint background signal noise (RF/EMI) within my small room used to disappear/dissipate.
    The more cables I shield, the quieter my room becomes. In fact, the last group of cables I shielded were my HDMI's, and Lo behold the room became slightly quieter yet again.
    When friends came around, I used to show them how loud the system goes. Now I prefer to press pause and show them how quiet it goes.
    None of them gets it, of course 😂

    I've been using Morrow Audio cables for several years now and I always assumed that Audioquest was just another lousy Monster Cable type brand that was garbage until about a week ago when I swapped out my hospital grade 14awg to an NRGZ3 on my Rega Elex-R. What a nice difference! I was going to go the Shunyata route but now I might stick with the Audioquest. I have two more power cables to upgrade moving forward (dac & node 2i power supply)... Thanks for the video!

      Even though most directional digital cables are designed to run a particular direction. Arrows on analogue cables are basically for future reference.
      I once thought I burnt in a cable the wrong way round only to discover now that it's already been burnt in. One would better to leave it and just go with the flow (pun intended). One wouldn't want to go against the direction of a cable that's already been burnt in. Confirmation came when I put it to the test!
      When it comes to listening too much, knowledge is not always a good thing.

      Check this out, not a great pic , but copper resembles a crystalline structure. Thats depicted by the "lines" on the image. Going with the grain is a better conduction path versus going against the grain . I know, sounds far fetched but even without even taking this into consideration, the speaker cables definitely sound better the higher you go up. I know you have educated friends, but this is a check it out for yourself and make your opinions after kind of scenario.

      Weekca2007, I actually feel sorry for you if your system can't be improved by using good to great quality cables.
      Upgrading to Firebird power cable was the biggest improvement and noticed by my hifi friends and my wife could tell as well. Maybe you should try and see what the full potential of your system could be.

    • @Weecka2007
      @Weecka2007 6 месяцев назад +1

      @hank8499 no, it's me who feels sorry for you, where not only your friends, but the closest person to you who should be honest is lying to justify you spending stupid amount of money on something that can be bought for a fraction of price. I heard equipment with audioquest cables and cheaper alternatives such as QED, that cost a fraction of price. Same goes for hdmi cables and other interconnects. Audioquest claims improved video and audio quality, which for dummies sounds like a holy grail. But for people with brain who know that it's a digital signal of 1's and 0's that cannot be "improved". The only difference is the quality of cable, which will be good for longer lengths of cable. So your $5 10ft amazon hdmi will work just as well as your $500 audioquest hdmi with "improved visual and audio quality"... lol. Be better, educate yourself!!!

    Well, I just lost even more respect for this channel. No matter stranded or solid core, direction makes no difference. Only active cables are directional, as one end is the power/sender and the other end is the receiver/repeater. Mix an active cable up and it won't work. Mix a stranded and/or solid core cable up, makes no difference. Audioquest is and has been nothing but snake oil in this field. As your banner says, "Real, Honest Reviews". Get some of their "directional" cables and do a blind audio and video test. Have someone keep switching the cables around and see if you can hear and see the "oh shit" difference as this guy claims the installers hear/see. Then report back and let us know if you have to change everything in your house.

    The Great Cable Debate: Some people say measurements are absolute and with HDMI Cable it is all about binary "1/0" Ones and Zeros and I was skeptical but went from Pearl to Forest it was like my TV was calibrated then went to Cinnamon and Sound Improved.
    The only thing I can say about measurements maybe it is the same principle as Einstein's Theory of relativity and Quantum Mechanics where they do not support each other and then you need Stevens Hawkins Theory to explain Everything, it has even been proven that Light Reacts different when being observed, then may this shine some light on those for or against Measurements.
    So I have a lot of youtube demo videos. I watch them a lot and I would know the difference. So if you upgrade to any high end cable and you don't do the same you will have no way to verify other than this review and it started with Forest and at minimum and increased with Cinnamon.
    Screams Quality.

    • @ThatHomeTheaterDude
      @ThatHomeTheaterDude  4 месяца назад +2

      Im glad you are a person of reason. Most people stop at binary, it either works or not. I see and hear a sizable difference the higher you go from standard packaging cables. Im a big fan of audioquest for sure.

    • @ITWINGMAN
      @ITWINGMAN 4 месяца назад +1

      @@ThatHomeTheaterDude Yes what we have to understand with digital is you can lose information due to parasitic data so building higher quality cables help prevent the loss of data, but when it comes HDMI cables you can watch 4K HDR content then up upgrade the cable like I did with Audioquest Cinnamon and Carbon unbelievable difference anyone can try it for themself, so least I can vouch for the Video cause you can see it unlike audio you can't see. So that is why in The 7-layer OSI model data is sent in packets because data does get lost in packets even though it is in Digital format Binary 1 and 0.

    My first Audioquest rca cables were inexpensive (london tower) , after a few months a hum developed. I replaced this with the Audioquest Evergreen ( a little higher priced) , sounded better but after a year there was a loss of sound, twisting it, the sound came back. I threw it away and replaced with a a new Evergreen, again after a year there was a loss of sound (the wire inside probably got disconnected, so I threw it away too. I cannot afford to buy the more expensive Audioquest models. Will not invest in those more expensive models.
