Hi Everyone,
Decided to create this channel and share with you my hobby to scrap electronics and recover precious metals from it!
I found the fun of scrapping after started collecting vintage electronics and these two hobbies perfectly match each other from my perspective :)
What am I planning to share with you in 2-3 videos per week:
- Scraping electronic devices to electronic scrap and scrap metal.
- Complete scrapping of electronic devices to chips, capacitors, pins and other elements.
- Recovering gold and silver from jewellery, cutlery, etc.
- Reverse electroplating of gold and silver plated scrap.
- Experimenting with chemical reactions to recover precious metals from electronic scrap.
- Personal experience in scrapping electronics and chemical processes used.
- Sharing interesting chips, boards and devices I found for my collection.
Hope you will enjoy this channel content as much as I enjoy my hobbies!
Your critical feedback is appreciated!

What can u do with the gold?
Hi, I keep it. Some people sell it.
Where els can I get silver contact ? Opend up a fuse box only had a few contacts in it
@@aledhughes6000 Hi, the industrial fuse boxes are better, also high voltage switches. Even simple lamp switches. Elevator fuse boxes. Old telephone centrals. But mostly switches.
What did the boards come out of?
@@Wrightwayrecycling Hi, not sure exactly. Old Soviet Unit electronics.
delete tyhe video its crap. totaly wrong process
Hi, correct! Mistakes are also good to exist, so other people don’t do them and have an example what goes wrong.
I've seen your video in the past and I've also watched it again today with a few years in between I have a lot of melts unsuccessful due to compelling with lead now I have about 50 milt's with my little bit of gold trapped in the lead I need your help I don't have access to the nitric is there any other way I need your knowledge
@@timothybourque7999 Hi, the issue with lead is that there is no easy and clean way to take gold from it. Probably the best way to separate gold from lead is to put the melt in a cement crucible and heat in an oven. There are videos on RUclips on it. Lead evaporates and a good bean is left. But lead fumes are toxic!!! So, it is done in controlled environment.
In your collection, do you have an example of the silver/palladium cup type that you can show?
Hi, I checked the capacitors I have and unfortunately no such found. Apologies!
@escrapchannel what is the solution for gold precipitation with zinc? I am having same trouble as you had in this video. Does adjusting the ph to 14 works or ph should be 5 as mentioned by @joek511. Also if this is cyanide based reagent, wont heating or making the solution acidic release toxic hydrogen cyanide.
Hi, per the shipment documentation solution should contain cyanide, so I would not add acid. I usually add 2-4g NaOH to increase the pH to above 12 and then the zinc powder does the cementation.
@@escrapchannel Thanks for a quick response.
Will you do more Videos? Or did you stop making New Videos?
Hi, I have prepared material for more than 100 videos. Not sure when I will have time to restart, but for sure I will restart.
It's all arrived now my friend. I accidentally mixed 60g in my liter. Is that okay or do I need to decant and make 50g?
@@HardKnocksTime hi, 60g per litre of water is fine.
@@escrapchannel Not having much luck getting any silver thus far. I'm set at 1.8v my amps are low and won't go higher then .9. I've been going about 2 hours now with no silver peeling maybe just a tiny dust when I brush the item. Almost as if it's not working at all. Any suggestions?
@@HardKnocksTime you may have silver in the solution. Take 1ml and add table salt. There are two parts of the process: silver goes to the solution and some parts of the plating may fall too.
@@escrapchannel how much salt should I add to the one ml of solution,?
Couple of crystals - silver chloride should instantly appear as white residue.
I could watch anyone cut parts off a board but i choose not to waste my time with your crappy video.
It’s your choice and I respect it :)
Got to love a play-doh tub x
What would happen if you increased the power supply to 12v 6amp?
Hi, fast reaction, dirty foam on top, etc. Electroplating and reverse electroplating are slow processes and the slower the better quality result.
@escrapchannel I had a very very dirty solution doing the 12v 6amp. I did use salt and distilled water. It was horrible. So much base metal in solution. I have non-iodized salt and distilled water here. I am going to try the voltage you have recommended. How long should I let it deplate before removing it and brushing?
@@HardKnocksTime wait, please! Salt? It will never work with salt in the solution. Thats the reason for the base metal quickly moving to solution. Please use Na2SO3 - 60g per litre distilled water. It will keep reaction smooth at the. Outage in the video.
@@HardKnocksTime Sodium Sulphite is the chemical name
@escrapchannel I will get the sodium sulphite and give it a try. I can't thank you enough. Give me a week and I will be back to let you know how it turned out. Thank you again for all of your knowledge, time, and sharing with me!!!
Very good video
Thanks!
Ако нямаш други бройки тази красота трябва да се запази :)

whatare you doing for ventalation?
Hi, I use the body of a standard kitchen ventilation but motor is replaced with chemically resistant one.
Where do you get your parts
Hi, auctions, eBay, …
PROCESS!!!!
Thanks!
Why would somebody just take the big ones and not get everything
Hi, big ones have 0.03-0.05g of gold each, so more or less the most valuable elements. But the bolts were cut in this case.
Yay new video
👍
Refine every time, get that gold
I like gold! So, it is always an option :) THANKS!
DIP are collectible for sure. btw, anybody gave met any doodles in eastern block chip dies?
Thanks!
and what about palladium in the title?
1.5-2% from the MLCCs. That’s what I usually get. Sometimes more. Sometimes less.
WAY too beautiful to refine. It would be a shame to lose those to a refine
Thanks! Agree!
How would you know if you have a chip that is collectible and worth something?
Hi, I usually keep ceramic ICs. The older and rare - the better.
They are intact, keep in collection.
Agree! Too beautiful to destroy.

Thanks!

Truly a Sensei. Thank you for this knowledge sir
Thanks
Do you have an email?
Hi, yes. escrapchannel@abv.bg
They yield about 10grams per kilo. I just ran some AMP pins and they are awesome! I still have more to harvest, batch two is coming.
Perfect!
Thanks great video
Thank you!
@@escrapchannel how to get the palladium out of the capacitors please ??? You have a video? 🤔
Hi, I have no video yet, but I am planning to restart videos this year and palladium recovery will be covered. In general, it is more complex than good and silver and there are two or three main approaches. Not easy to explain in a comment.
Do any of the film capacitors have palladium....
Hi, haven’t seen such.
Will there be problem if theres lead solder or iron/copper etc contaminating the gold plated objects. Can they all be present in Reverse electroplate cell without issue? Deciding if worth sorting materials or just run mixed
Hi, as the electrolyte is concentrated sulphuric acid it “favours” gold to be stripped while copper base or other metal stay mostly intact. Reaction depends a lot on the voltage, as higher current makes reaction faster but also impurities more. Gold product from the cell I refine chemically in all cases, so even if impurities present I clean gold during the refining.
@@escrapchannel great thanks I'll give it a try!
Please be super careful with the concentrated sulphuric acid.
Wow, you can really see how much copper is missing after the reaction. Looks like it took care of the thin sheets surrounding the contacts. I'll use this method to get rid of the copper before further purification. Thank you!
Hi, thanks!
Do these actually have 0.2 grams of gold? Have you tried recovering it?
Hi, I tried but never recovered 0.2.
@@escrapchannel how much is from one then?
@@BigVik1111 If I correctly remember it was less than 0.1 … something like 0.08g. But it was long time ago so it is a good idea to repeat the experiment.
@@escrapchannel Thank you, i guess i won’t bother scrapping them then, better sell them to collectors
My new favorite scrapper, I like how you explain the different components
Hi, It’s time to restart the videos …

Hi, no. I do not sell scrap CPUs.
ruclips.net/user/shortschwWRyfvvAE?si=bArwEHP0jzBBWQ2h
nice...are the cathode using pure stainless steel or can use any kind of metal
Hi, cathode can be different, but I find stainless steel as perfect. Not reacting, practically inert and easy to remove the coloidal gold when deposited on top.
It's take too much time. I have 500kg of wire with silver coating. Please help me and wire is only 0.2mm only
Hi, for such amount reverse electroplating is too slow. Easiest way is to dissolve all wire in nitric acid, if you can find it cheap.
you will extract 2 grams and spend 200 euros
Hi, it is a little more than 2g 🤫
Thank you for the context of how and why you were doing what you were doing....
Hello, do you have a scrap ceramic CPU for sale?
Hi, unfortunately I have no ceramic CPUs for sale.
I have one.. Partially stripped. Any takers?
Hi, no.
Добро българско представяне!

Too much work for a small amount of silver.
Hi, exactly! So everybody can decide if it is worth doing it. For countries where 10 dollars are enough to survive a month and for the countries where hourly payment is more than 10 dollars.
Lucky , gold is a noble metal , ...vulturic
Hi, gold is my favourite from the noble metals :)
One more comment. My average recovery per 100 ml of eco gold x is .87 gram . I add about 12 ml of HCL to every 100 ml of solution. This drops the PH to about 5 then I add zinc powder while the solution is hot, 90 to 100c. Never bothered to weigh the zinc, but I don't think I ever added more than 2 grams. A very small quantity of zinc
Hi, thank you for sharing your experience.
@@escrapchannelJust started using Eco about 2 to 3 months ago. I think the compound degrades over time. The first run I did was with about 30 lbs of pins. It took 1200 ml to strip all the pins and my recovery was close to 15 grams . More than a gram per 100 ml. Now it's just not doing it, no matter what I try I cant seem to get more than .85 per 100 ml.
@@joek511 Hi, I have an old batch bought more than 3 years ago, so if I find time I will test it. Thank you for the information.
