    My man i dig the parts content videos. Especially the giant russian tantalum caps. Im still waiting for the day i run across them. Id crack them open like eggsurprise and put all that chunky tantalum in a candy bowl placed on my recovery table

      The golden era and i never knew until i ran across your channel. Awesome. Thanks for sharing. And speaking of id like to request a video in which you process the caps youhave sorted in the organizer. Do you process wet or smelt? Owltech has great smelting videos

      @@alexross2682 Hi, smelting is something I plan to master. Very interesting to me but using lead is concerning me. There are some cases when lead can be avoided and other metals used, but I am still in the phase of experiments. Wet methods are what I mostly use.

      If you can find the time, itd be great to see some yields. I like your style of quantity of pm and the prices you guys pay over there. They gouge here so its rare for me to find a decent deal. Especially when it comes to gold in boards and ic chips. Ive been messing with capacitors lately on a crave for palladium, silver, and tantalum. At any rate thank you brother for the lessons. See you at the next lesson maestro

    Specific to Soviet material. I am on the west, ours aren't that good but I do find epoxy coated mlccs.

      Hi, the three amplifiers are from USSR TVs, but usually they copy ‘west’ devices and ICs, so what you find in 1989 USSR you can find in 1975 US device. I’ve also seen epoxy coated MLCCs that are not bad in palladium content.

    • @royalrefining6182
      @royalrefining6182 Год назад +1

      @eScrap Channel they did copy, yes but they surpassed the west in precious metal content. Robust

      @@royalrefining6182 you are absolutely correct! I spoke long time ago during my PhD with a guy that was working in one of the IC factories and his explanation was that process was not well implemented and result varied in wide ranges. About gold plating his comment was exactly: when workers decide to steal gold, then you get half thickness of the layer, when workers get drunk you get twice thicker layer. Haven’t seen with my eyes, but I’ve seen in the lab completely different results from same material.

    • @escrapchannel
      @escrapchannel  Год назад +1

      Hi, you can break in two parts the capacitor and use magnifying glass. In the MLCCs are clearly visible layers.
