Thanks Hannah, that was quick, concise, and really useful Thank you

Thanks. I really appreciate this advice.

Thanks but didn't get the name of the park.
Thanks for watching. It’s Bushy Park - SW London. If you ever get the chance it is 🙌🏼
@@HannahYoungPhotography Thank you 👍🏻
Great video! Was out today with the 70-200 too.
Thanks for watching. What were you shooting today?
@@HannahYoungPhotography I was in Central Park with the lens and no grand plan. Birds, people, flowers and then out on the street.
@@paullutvak5422 amazing - the best type. I’m going to NYC in December- already thinking of the photo ops 📸
Great shots. First time seeing your you tube channel.
Amazing. Thanks for watching 🙌🏼
@@HannahYoungPhotography welcome and thanks for the reply.
I love my Telephoto Lens! I have a 150-600 four my canon and 55-230 for my fujifilm. Enjoying a bit of wildlife photography but hard than I thought would be I lack patience! Depending on how much you love your car , a trip to Woburn Safari is alway great with a telephoto 👍Great Bambi shots by the way !
I think I might be like you on the patience front haha. But when you get ‘the’ shot 💥 And even better find your SD card 😉 Must have a look in to going to Woburn!
I love that park. I have the 100 to 300mm Panasonic Leica and used it recently from viewing platform of Horizon 22. I got a nice shot of Battersea Power Station!!
Me too - possibly the best park 🌳 Love the sound of that lens, it’s a great view from up there too. I spent too long getting a shot in one direction haha - will have to go up again. Thanks for watching 🙂
Have you tried the lens with a teleconverter too? I have used the 70-200 GMII with the x2 converter and while that gives a minimum aperture of f/5.6 the sharpness of the lens is not unduly compromised. That combined with crop mode gives the reach of 600mm. Not exactly pocket sized though 😅
I have not BUT great shout. I really love the idea of having a try at 600. If the sharpness isn’t compromised I’d be really happy shooting at f/5.6. I’ve found it a bit better in terms of depth of field and keeping things in focus too. Thanks for the tip and watching 🙌🏼
How does the Cii balance with a grapefruit launcher like that hanging off it's nose. Wrist and general carrying not a pain?
Not something I use on a regular basis (I was just borrowing it) but fun to have a play with 😁
@@HannahYoungPhotography Can I take that to mean mayyybe not the best match? The context is me looking to get into Stills with Sony since my FX3 isn't really made for that role. This leaves the A7R5 or the A7CR and my concern is body balance with the GM cannon.
@@POVwithRC lens way outsizes the body for sure not a great balance. Certainly not something I’d buy or use on the regular. However, if you need a tele for something you can make it work - it’s just as expected. Big and heavy. My main lenses are the G series lenses rather than the GM’s - they are a brilliant match with the cii. Definitely worth checking out 😄 Absolutely love the body for stills. Think the R would be 🔥 for you….
When I was a Sony shooter I had this lens and it is really superb. Great images Hannah and as I now live on Crete it was really nice to see the English countryside.
Thank you, really appreciate it 🙏🏻 It is a lovely lens to have a play with, especially for a little wildlife activity. I hope Crete is treating you well 🙌🏼
@@HannahYoungPhotography Living the dream on Crete. If you ever decide to come to Crete let me know its a great place for photography and happily show you around.
@@Foto384 amazing. Thank you very much. I’ll definitely be sure to if I do come. Would love to explore that part of the world more 😊
I have the RF 70-200 f/2.8 and absolutely love it! It might not have internal zoom of many 70-200 lenses (or the older EF version) but that helps it pack down so small and makes it more compelling to take out and about. I also have the RF 100-500 which gives amazing reach, and when combined with the 45MP sensor of the R5 it can be cropped in even further. It's a commitment to take that lens out but it is mighty for wildlife.
Ooo that 500 reach sounds like a lot of fun + 45MP = 💥 Do you use it a lot? 🤔
@@HannahYoungPhotography I don't use the 100-500 a huge amount as it is a bit of a chonker, but when I do use it (for wildlife) then I'm super glad I have it 😁
I usually use Snapseed for my street photography. But for my portraits and street portraits and my photographs for my recent trip to Japan on Lightroom and Photoshop on my Xiaomi Android 128GB Tablet and I have puta 512GB SD Card in my tablet.
Nice - there’s something quite fun about editing on a tablet. Hope you had an amazing trip to 🇯🇵
So dazzling 😍
Thank you 🤩
Do you own a tele?
I have the ii of this and the 2x Tele. GM clinical, but infallible.
Did you film the bike sequence on an insta360? Just bought one, trying to get my head around it.
This was on the DJI Osmo Action 4. Yet to own a 360. Haha. A little scared. I see some awesome stuff shot on them though. Apparently the app is really easy for picking the frames? Which one did you get?
@@HannahYoungPhotography the X4. Still trying to figure it out!
We have peak design anchors on all our cameras and use with cuff, leash, etc
Unmatched ⚡️
I have a couple of straps which I regularly use, a wider “silk” woven strap from Japan on the A7RV with whatever the lens of the day is (comfort) and a thin-ish leather strap on the A7CR, sometimes swapped for a wrist strap. Definitely, fickle (moody?) so Peak Design clips for interchangeability. Out of interest, what lens are you using with the Haoge Leica-esq hood? I tried one with the 24mm G and found it gave some corner vignetting - nice look though 😅
Nice set up with the straps. And the PD clips always come in strong! I’m using the 40mm f/2.5 G with the Haoge hood. Haven’t found any noticeable issues with vignetting but perhaps as it’s a tighter focal length….
Hate camera straps so seldom use it. Most of the time I use a wrist strap which suits me much better. I use a quick release from Smallrig so easy to swap over if required
I’ve tried wrist straps too - sometimes find easy. Haha. Until I want to get it off quickly 😉 Must look at that from SmallRig….
I like 24-50mm lens. But i love my PZ 16-35mm lens on my ZVE1. i Could not let this lens go when i use it on Dynamic active stab - really stable yet still wide. I have paired my PZ with Sony 50mm f2.8 macro and now i have a great combo from 16mm to 50mm for my daily shoot of ultrawide, bokeh, lowlight and macro shots. The combo is much more versatile.
That’s a fantastic combo - I like your thinking. Also love my 16-35 PZ. Paired with a slightly tighter prime. Winner ⚡️ Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
So absolutely jealous you get to ride in the summertime. I'm in Texas and the average temperature is in the 100s and air quality is absolutely horrible! Great strap, it's also the one thing I struggle with when it comes to carrying my gear and to this day I have yet to find the right one.
It’s a really struggle to find the ‘perfect’ solution isn’t it. So many variables. Might explain my camera bag addiction also 😉 So currently it’s around 25 degrees (c) here. Which is a heatwave for us 🤣 Rain is usually the deciding factor on cycling rather than the heat. I’d love to visit Texas though… maybe not in the summer 🔥
@@HannahYoungPhotography Let's not start talking about bags, it's a never ending struggle for me as well! And I totally agree, if you do visit Texas avoid the summer for sure, it's supposed to be 37 today and I'm staying indoors! ✌🏽
@@Caballeroshot bags 😂
This could have been the perfect strap for me. I just hate all the other straps. So ugly, uncomfortable, etc. I have been eyeing on the Artisan&Artist Silk Strap for a long time, but they're very expensive. But, I finally decided to get one and couldn't be happier. It's so comfortable! I've managed to attach the PD anchor system to it, and it is perfect! Your video came about two weeks late. Otherwise, I'd probably gotten this one. Maybe something for my second camera. 😊 Thanks for the link and the vid!
Amazing, that sounds so nice. I don’t think I’ve seen a silk strap before. And great to be able to adapt it with the PD anchors 👏🏼 Of you do need a second strap, I can really recommend. Thanks so much for watching 😌
What length would you recommend buying for the strap?
I went for 110cm/43’’. For me this is the perfect mid length ✌🏻
@@HannahYoungPhotography thanks Hannah! Sorry, you did say in the video in the end. Now I need to decide what colour works with a silver a7c ii…if you have some fashion wisdom, do share :-)
The rope style doesn’t seem like it would be comfortable around my neck.
I think it depends on the carry/load. It wouldn't work for me with a heavy load. However, with a light street style set up I have found it to be nice and rope slides nicely when pulling the camera up to the eye. But.. definitely personal preference! Thanks for watching :)
@@HannahYoungPhotography I also have an A7cii w/24mm 2.8. After seeing the 40 mm, I think I might’ve made a mistake…
@@juliegreller9242 ooo. It’s a tough choice. I definitely lean towards a tighter focal length so the 40 for me is the one! I guess it depends what and how you like to shoot!?
I too have never got on with Straps. I have two different Peak Design ones and never use them, I also bought cheap ‘Rope’ style one and it was horrible, same scratchy rope like my dogs lead. I also agree that if the camera is in a bag while cycling it never comes out so might have to check one of these you recommended out 👍
Lol kinda glad I’m not the only one with this dilemma. This one is incredibly nicely made - I think you’d like it a lot. Only the million variations to decide between 😉
Are you a camera strap lover? Or not? 👇
thank you, very helpful
You’re very welcome 🙌🏼
Nice video. What POV camera were you using for the shoot?
Thankyou, really appreciate you watching. POV camera is the DJI Osmo Action 4. Love it!
@@HannahYoungPhotography Great. Thanks. Was noticing your orientation changes together with your main camera. Did you mount it on the Sony?
@@edmondluilumea4371 yes. I have a little Small Rig mount for the hot shoe. Works really well 🤓 Will link the two bits below for you. amzn.to/3VWqTIj amzn.to/4bkAgWS
I don’t know if you have the 24mm f2.8 G and use it but the 24mm f/1,4 GM is smaller than the 35mm GM so it’s more manageable. Also the 50mm f1.4 is smaller than the 35mm GM. I have these. Also consider Sigma I-series 35mm f2 and the older Sony FE 35mm f1.8 which is nice and light. A lot of videographers like that since it has almost zero focus breathing. Nice video. Take care.
I’ve had the 24 2.8 which I did really enjoy. Interesting the GM runs smaller than the 35. As well as the 50… thanks for the tips. Will definitely look into them 🙏🏻 Appreciate you watching 😌
Great Shots ! Im not a Sony User but my go-to-lens seems to be my dirt cheap TT Artisan 27mm 2.8 or my 35mm F2 , both on my FujiFilm. I have so just bought a fun little TT Artsan 18mm, only cost about £50 , fix aperture , bloody small and lightweight, turns the camera into a ‘point -and -shoot’ They do a Sony fit version and recommend picking one up just for a bit of fun. Couple of other things I noticed , you lost a screw from your capture clip and your rocking a nice Gshock 👍
I might well have to give that little lens a whirl - thank you. Sounds like fun! Ah me too. Only noticed the screw missing when I got home and then when editing realised it was just on the edge in that opening clip, rattling around a bit. I have found the thumbscrew ones a bit annoying acutally. They keep coming loose. Have had to switch back to the hex bolts. But to be fair it says on my bag all the time now so not a major issue. ps. new watch is a treat. Little birthday gift - loving the old school vibe. Also enjoying taking a break from notifications on my arm ;)
Gotta love a ‘vintage’ Casio, as a watch collector I must have over a dozen! Definitely try that little lens, it’s amazingly good for the money 👍
I would buy the 20-70 4
go away!
:)
On a side note, I love the area as well and I think it’s a shame they developed such an iconic place in London with a… shopping centre. It could’ve been a community centre, a space for the arts… but meh, all spoiled with shops. You made it look nice though 🤘
I know what you mean. It is a super cool area and I do quite like the aesthetic they went for inside, guess they gotta make their £ back. Lol, these shops are definitely browsing ones too ;) It was like a bit of a (photographers) playground at 7am... can recommend!
Will check it out one of these days ✨
just come across your channel, binge watching your vids. love your photo style, very clean & lush edits 🤩 liking that 40mm action - seems a great versatile lens for a good price.
Amazing, thanks so much for watching and really appreciate the feedback 🙌🏼 The 40 really is a super versatile option and pretty much stays on my camera most of the time ⚡️
Great Video
Thank you and for watching 😊
Thank you. I actually own the new FE 24-50/2.8 G and both the A7CII and A7CR. The play really nice together for walking around and travel. I own larger/heavier full size Sony bodies like the A1 plus battery grip and A7RV and on those I use the larger FE 24-70/2.8 GM II and other larger primes and zooms and I’m very happy with the smaller G. Prior to getting it I also used the Sigma 28-70/2.8 DG DN Contemporary that is heavier but still only 490 grams but I wanted the G’s image quality and aperture ring and other G/GM features. Think I will also get the new FE 16-25/2.8 G to pair with it. Have you looked at that one? If you have let me know what you think. Take care.
Thanks Steve 🙏🏻 I’m really hooked on the G/GM features too. I’ve really got my eyes on that 16-25. It looks super nice. For me personally it’d be a great focal length for a lot of things and give that 2.8 rather than the f/4 I currently have on my 16-35. And then use my primes like 40 for anything above the 25mm. Love to hear your thoughts if you do end up picking it up….
@@HannahYoungPhotography I’m definitely going to get the 16-25/2.8 G. I bought the small 16-35/4 PZ G used from a close friend when he left Sony but the PZ feature just wasn’t for me but I don’t shoot video. I’m sure the f/4 had something to do with it but I owned a Canon 16-35/4L but i remember it having IS as well which I don’t think the Sony PZ has.
Is the max 1/4000 enough for the 1.4 aperture for most of your shooting?
On this day it was. Only maxed out on 1/2000. It was a pretty gloomy and dark day. If it were my lens to use all the time and wanting to shoot at 1.4 would definitely need a filter 👌🏼
I have the G series 24 and 40 and I love them as they are just the right size to pair with the compact body of the A7cii
My 40 is my workhorse and favourite too. Have you tried the 50? Or too close to the 40?
what size did u exported image... 3500px or 5000px? etc...
