    How would you define street photography? I'd love to hear your thoughts👇

    The fact that you are very passionate about photography & enjoying it, is clearly visible in your on-camera presence and way of explanation. Those shots were beautiful! My understanding about street photography is, anything shot on the streets whether with human subject or not which shows the ever-changing aspect of life related to street. Particularly if the shot can never be repeated the exact same way, because things have changed and will never be the same again. So only the image is there to speak for what have lost. It is really about the decisive moment on and around the street for me.

      Really appreciate you watching - and it’s always welcome to hear the passion and enjoyment is coming across in the video too. Thank you! I think you’re spot on - like the thought about something that could never be replicated and the decisive moment. You really have to be so observant 👀

    You have a natural on-camera presence, like we the audience are just hanging out with you on a photowalk :) as for street photography I'm such a newb but I'd define it as candid slice-of-life portraiture 🥰

      Amazing. Thank you so much, I’m really happy to hear it feels like that as I’m aiming for that kind of feel appreciate it 🙌🏼 ‘Candid slice-of-life’ perfectly sums it up. Love it. Enjoy!

    I really enjoyed your photos. Thank you! People or/and everything man made. In towns or buildings, utility poles in the countryside. How people interact with the environment.

    Thanks for this video and posing this question, which no one seems to have looked at from this interesting and very simple perspective, like your eye a lot, some shots don't appear to need as much verbal exposition, great stuff thank you again.

    The definition by Wikipedia sounds restrictive to me, to a specific subgenre of street photography.
    The kind where you find your spot or framing, and wait for the subject to happen in it.
    A type of photography enhanced by rangefinder style camera, if you're not left eye dominant.
    Where you have your shot, and wait a few minutes eyeing people going about your framing, waiting for the one who'd fit the picture you have in mind.
    As opposed to those who wanders a well known beat or a new hunting ground, letting serendipity presents its moments.
    More often than not, the first ones have prefocused and then switched to manual, whereas the others are zone focusing, to be able to capture whatever hapeens.

    Great Shots Hannah! For me ‘street photography’ seems to be simply wandering in around taking photos of whatever strikes me as interesting or simply could be a nice shot, most of the time its a wasted image🤣 For some reason I lack the confidence to take photos of people in public, something I should work on .

      Thanks Steve, really enjoyed this one 🙌🏼 I’m definitely in the same boat as you but slowly slowly feeling more confident with it. I think it does get easier with time and practice….

    I love visiting cities around the world and always include a spattering of street photography but it's not a genre I can get very excited about. Enjoyed the video though 😊

      Thanks for watching Alan. Definitely agree it’s a nice thing to add in while travelling. Actually just in Madeira and feeling super inspired in Funchal with a few street shots to capture the memories 📷

    Love your photography. Have you considered trying "panning" on some of those bicycle shots, so that the cyclist is sharp, and the background is slightly blurred out? I think something like that would look nice, especially with the busier, more colorful backgrounds.

      @HannahYoungPhotography  2 месяца назад

      Thank you Jack! I like this idea - will give it a whirl. I’ve only really played with blurring of the subject but could be cool to reverse it…. Thanks for the inspiration 😄

    Hi Hannah, You prefer the A7CII to the A7CR?

    • @HannahYoungPhotography
      @HannahYoungPhotography  2 месяца назад

      Hey Michael. For me I like the cii. I haven’t had the chance to use the R. I think for purely photography I’d go with the R and get the 60mp. But as I’m a bit more hybrid I like what I have, and find the 33mp enough. Are you using one?

    • @michaelwilson6584
      @michaelwilson6584 2 месяца назад

      @@HannahYoungPhotography Hi Hannah, At one point this year I had the R and my trusty A7RV and had to choose which one to hang on to when I was offered a Leica Q3. The two Sonys have a very similar spec but the A7RV has a fab viewfinder so the A7CR had to go. I miss it though.

    i really think you should have done a bit more studying of the masters such as jill freedman, gary winogrand, and bruce gilden before making a video talking about it.
