My red devil partner in crime Jake just turned four years old and I can tell you, it only gets better. The first two years were a bumpy road at best, it took a lot (read: A LOT) of training and guidance (for both of us) to grow into the confident team we are now. But boy was it worth it, you will never get a more loyal, well willing, intelligent teammate as a well behaved Australian Cattle Dog and together we could rule the world. (But we won't, cause we dislike everybody except each other and that would be cruel 😜)

I've had dogs for over 30 years now. This is absolutely true. And as a side note - we don't deserve dogs.

My girl heeler is about to be 1 year old, frisbee is her favorite thing to do, I launch it and she runs and tracks it in the air and catches it, the wife and I are so happy that we have a heeler

My 9 year 0ld Aussie male is extremely trained and very kid friendly, but also very protective of the family and farm. I have no doubt he would attack an intruder, but all he has ever had to compete with so far was a stray pit coming in our yard near my toddler and he took care of business. Unfortunately he noq has cancer and will probably not survive long.. He is my best friend and di for will ever miss my guardian/ Frisbee catching master Ragnar

Dragging the lawn mower from the back yard to the front while I empty the grass catcher. Thank goodness the mower must be off at those times.

Cool dog but stop feeding them that industrial, dried trash. Some issues : The taped box : many dogs would end up ingesting parts of the tape or the cardboard - not the best idea. You want something that won't tear apart or break. A strong plastic bin would do. The kibble in the yard : through experience, i've learned that although this is an effective way to get them engaged in an activity - it tends to reward them for rooting around for "edibles". So when you take them somewhere public or free roam, they tend to be rooting around for edibles and will eat anything they find - including dangerous, toxic things as well as people's picnics. An alternative is using a ball or toy and hiding it in a field or in the house and having the dog search for it.

I’ve considered rehoming my dog twice this past week. My family reminded me I’m all this pups got so I can’t give up on it. Stress level 1000 though! That 7-18 months is no joke. Literal hell

Our best wishes to Cowboy for a full and speedy recovery for his toe. Love your videos. FWIW, Cowboy and my nearly 4 y.o. female cattle dog are eerily similar, from the demanding bark at you at 1:58, to grabbing the ball and "killing it," to the trainability. A sweet dog who is tough as nails.

IMPORTANT QUESTION PLEASE!!: Just got my late pops (grandfather)18 month old red stumpytail cattle dog. He nips all the time, slowly he is learning no and I usually tell him to sit when he starts and give him a treat when he does. But my problem is when I try to leave him, he nips my clothes or worse, my ponytail to hold me there so I don't leave, it makes me feel so bad but also I have no idea how to fix this 😢
