    Have had 2 field Goldens. Now have a 14 1/2 year old Blue Heeler. Love them all. So different but awesome. Best wishes for all.

    I've been leaning towards getting a golden/lab mix...I think a black golden looks so damn pretty.

      are black goldens a thing? I have never seen or heard of them. I know flat coated retrievers kind of look like a black golden would in theory...

      @@diydogguy No, they have to be mixed with labs. Often called Goldador or something along those lines.
      It's usually done for different colors than the standard golden.

    Did you go through a breeder for Cowboy? If so, would you recommend them?

      I got Cowboy from Oakwood ACDs breeder in Texas

    Im going to be that person, but with the amount of stray animals, dogs suffering, and needing a home, we still buy breed dogs😢. And the life the breed dogs in puppy mills have is also very sad.

      @diydogguy  7 месяцев назад +2

      I agree its very sad how many dogs are out there who need homes and I would certainly consider adopting someday! However, I have very specific goals with for this dog and wanted to know what i was getting for temperament, drive, and trainability. I got him from a very responsible breeder who bred for what I was looking to do with him so he would fit into our lifestyle and current pack. I think its important for people to get the right dogs for their home and situation
