How to Make Polymer Clay Hoop Earrings
In this video we will demonstrate how to use Hoop Guides for making Polymer Clay Hoop Earrings. The same technique can be used with another form such as a cutter or small bottle - so if you do not have hoop guides you can still follow along with the tutorial with something you may already have at home! The video demonstrates using an extruded piece of clay to create hoops, and how to also wrap fully completed slabs around your clay for hoop making - perfect for anyone who loves slabs!
The tutorial uses the following items:
- Sculpey Premo Polymer Clay
- Hoop Guides (or some kind of form)
- Polymer Clay Extruder
- Tissue Blade
- Printer paper/baking paper
- Pliers (optional - to remove hoop guide...

Cute
Thank you 🥰
This is absolutely lovely! Thank you so much for sharing this technique!
Thanks so much! We have a tutorial on our channel if you want to give it a go yourself! 💕
Those are gorgeous! ❤ How does the lighter heat help in combination with the uv resin before putting it under the uv lamp?
Thank you 🥰 it pops all the little air bubbles on the surface ☺️
Wow. Our watercolors is the only paint you can use on polymer clay before baking? And what type of clay was that pearlescent sheet you laid over? Thanks
Ironically the watercolour technique actually uses acrylic paint! It just gives a watercolour effect 😊 we have a tutorial on our channel if you want to give it a go yourself! The sheet of clay I laid over it is translucent 😊
Is it really safe to put tile in the oven what about asbestos 😮I bought a couple more tiles in different shapes today but I might be afraid to put it in my baking oven maybe my toaster oven that I only use for crafting
I don’t think asbestos has been used in building materials since the 80s or 90s due to all the health issues that come from it. If you’re worried though you can always double check with the manufacturer 😊
K mart!?!😂
Do you have Kmart? It’s a super affordable department store so great for simple things!
I agree with the comment below. I always learn something new and your tutorials are so clear and detailed. Thank you so much for all the great tutorials you make !!!! I am loving those mini cutters! Super cute!
You skip a piece of translucent between the gold and the white towards the top 😮
Oh whoopsie 🙈 hehe
💕💕💕💕💕
🥰🥰🥰
Ah-mazing!! I love it!!😊👏🏽❤️
Thank you!! ☺️❤️🌸
Awesome tutorial. I am learning so much from your channel. I love the way you are absolutely thorough and no rushing thru any important details. You are Amazing!! 🤗
Thanks so much 🥹 I try to make sure I cover everything that has caused me troubles along the way! So glad you’re enjoying our tutorials, thank you for watching ❤️❤️❤️
So I’ve been wanting to start my own small jewelry business since I always enjoyed creating. I recently purchased a couple of different useful tools to begin including sculpey premo. I do have a toaster oven that I use but it has been a struggle trying to find the right temperature to bake it and how long to bake it for. I tried baking it up 275 degree like the package said but it burned half way… any advice ? I also tried 130 degree and put some foil overtop to cover it but once it dried it broke 😭.
Oh no, that’s really frustrating! Sorry to hear about your baking struggles! Are you using an oven thermometer to check the temp is right? Ovens quite oven bake too hot or too cool and 10 degrees can make a difference! We have a tutorial on baking if you want to check it out 😊 ruclips.net/video/ZoWPdtYkdCc/видео.htmlsi=B8VQtdUB4xmcmvlh
This was SUPER helpful, thank you!! Also, what kind of glue do you use for the posts?
So glad you found it helpful! We use Loctite superglue gel 😊
Ok, it's ten cents lady
🤔🙃 sorry not sure what you mean
muyy bueno 👍
Thank you! ☺️❤️
That's beautiful ❤️🫂.
Thank you 🥰
wow this is beautiful 😊❤
Thank you! I’m very happy with how croissant-like it turned out! ☺️🥐
I find Fimo pro impossible to extrude as it's so hard 😢
I'm getting Deja Vu I think I saw this video before🤔
It was! I m thinking it is a re-upload.
Yes, sorry! There were a couple of technical issues so we had to re-upload it 🙈
No issues darling😄😃
If you have the time, leave the pressed clay in the mold in a fridge to make the clay firmer and less likely to distort
Yes! Such a good tip!
I can hear you find. Just turned up my volume.
❤️❤️❤️
good vid but your vids are very quiet
Thanks for the feedback! I think we’ve found the issue in our settings, it's updated now so hopefully no more sound issues on future videos ☺️
@@myclayco awesome, glad to hear it, no pun intended lol.
@@zipzip8239 hehe made me giggle. Love a good pun :)
Hi where did you buy the little plate for your canes please or did you make it? X

Very nice! I enjoy watching your videos ❤
Thank you ☺️💕
I grabbed a cheap set of pastels from the art section of a local store, and didn't realise till I got home that they are oil pastels. Are they ok?
Thanks for the comment! Oil pastels are quite sticky and are more like a sticky crayon - if you try to shave off the oil pastel to use on polymer clay, it won’t work unfortunately. The ones I use in the video are soft pastels and are very dry and powdery. This makes them easier to brush on like a powder and smudge. I have never tried working with oil pastels and polymer clay so I’m sorry I can’t give you any tips on how to use them together 😢 but you’ve inspired me to do some testing!
Hello thank you for sharing. So I mix my colours into my polymer then bake, also what about the clean up? Must cost a fortune using nail polish remover or isotope alcohol ?
My pleasure 🥰 you can mix it into your clay or use it on the surface, then bake it 😊 What clean up did you mean? Thankfully you never need much because you’re generally looking after quite small areas 😊
I Had One That l Only Used Once And It Snapped 😳🤦♀️🤷♀️
I had this, but I went back and got a new one - the same and it’s been fine! I read somewhere that some can just be a bit 💩
Oh no! Perhaps something got caught in there at the manufacturing process 🤔
Thank you, very helpful
Glad you found it helpful! 🥰
I have been working with Polymer and still learned heaps. Thank you !
You're very welcome! Happy making! ❤️
Great idea for miniature flowers also! Thanks for the inspiration!
Yes, they make such cute flowers! My pleasure 🥰
I´m sorry I can´t really hear you
Thanks for letting us know! I think I have found the issue in my camera settings. It's updated now so hopefully no more sound issues on future videos :)
@@myclayco brilliant thank you :)
Excellent tutorial. Hoow do you buff the clay?
Thank you ☺️ we have a video on finishing pieces that goes through buffing - it’s in the last part of this video: ruclips.net/video/IEcYodfJ59s/видео.htmlsi=TZpUlZvK1aFg8K7A
Your videos are always very helpful. You do a great job of filming and voicing!
Thank you so much 🥰
Thank you for sharing the information, especially about the different silicone. I bought one and I'm extremely new to molds and clay so didn't understand why it broke apart when taken out. I'm feeling more confident especially after this information. I watched many videos but there was always something missing. I feel this was more complete.
Thanks so much for the lovely feedback - We try and put as much info in our videos without making them too long so I'm glad it covered a lot of info for you :) Best of luck with your making! You'll have so much fun creating with molds I'm sure :)
Hey Lovely Not Sure Why They Can’t Hear You l Can Hear Fine 💕💕💕🤷♀️
Thanks Kerry :) I have found an issue that can affect audio for some viewers so have fixed it for future videos!
i can barely hear you
I’m really sorry, it’s an issue with it only playing on the right or left side on some devices 😢
Same here...😢
@@myclayco i hope it can be fixed, i really enjoy your videos 😃
Thank you for a great interesting and informative video. I learnt a lot. Again, Many thanks🤗🇬🇧
Our pleasure! 🥰🥰🥰
Women! We (I?) can’t hear you and my volume is all the way up.
May I offer a suggestion that might help you. On my TV there is a settings tab where you can change settings like for visual like color, brightness etc. look and see if your tv allows you to adjust your audio settings. Most TVs allow you to select different types of sound settings like volume for speech, music, theater, bass etc. if you have that select speech. You would be amazed how watching a program with a lot of talking has a much better range of volume than a setting like theater which would be for movies. Select the new volume level and that will enhance how you hear everything on your tv. Hope that makes sense, please ask questions if it’s doesnt I’m happy to help. Hope that helps.
Oh no, I’m so sorry! Did you happen to have your headphones on? Unfortunately it’s an issue with the way it’s recorded and some devices only plays on the right or left side 😭
do you seal the powder after baking? how do you keep it from smearing onto the base clay?
Yes, we do seal it 😊 to avoid smearing it the trick we use is to focus on the powdered parts first, then once it’s touch dry you can brush over the whole piece to seal it 😊 we have a video on using mica and pigment powder and it goes through sealing at the end if you want to check it out ruclips.net/video/B3Jdb23vql4/видео.htmlsi=F461ee4_9F6Ggnpm
How do you seal the mica powder after baking?
I used uv resin on these after baking ☺️
how do you keep from making finger prints on the white lotus cutouts when you press them down?
I am very careful just to gently press on the metal bezel when I’m getting it in place. I then use a roller or acrylic clay press to press down and avoid fingerprints 😊
Beautiful, what brand of UV resin do you use? 😊
Thank you 😊 we use Just Resin www.myclayco.com.au/collections/resin/products/just-resin-uv-resin-30ml
Wonderfull,thx for sharing Your knowledge🥰
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Lindo! 👏👏👏
Thank you! 🥰
i love your videos. They are clear, to the point, you don't go off tangent, and you cover topics no one else does. Well done and thank you for the information.
