Hi, loved your projects! Thanks for sharing - wondering what setting you used for the mylar stencil - I have been wanting to try it but have no idea what settings to use! Thank you!
You all have a great tutorial. I wish I had this when I first got my XTool M1. It would have made set-up a lot less daunting. I did have a question though, did you leave the air assist in place when you used the blade tool? I’ve had my M1 for about 2 years and have never used the blade tool because everything said you have to remove the air assist before and the idea of flipping it over, removing hoses, and dealing with tiny screws just never seemed worth it to switch out every time I wanted to do a different project. But if you were able to successfully utilize the blade tool with the air assist in place, that would open up so many other doors for me! Thanks again for the tutorial!
Thank you! Oh it is super duper easy to move the air assist. It’s just magnetised so you can pop it off easily and then tuck it in the holder things that come with it. I don’t turn it upside down at all to take the air assist off, it just pull down and it comes off, and then when I’m ready to use it again just tuck it back under. So long as you have it in the general vicinity it just magnetises itself back into place 😊 Air assist is sooooo good if you do wooden stuff!
@@myclayco that’s super helpful to know. My husband installed the air assist for me when we got it because most of my work is woodwork but the process appeared so involved that switching between one tool to the other came off as such a daunting task. But knowing that the air assist is just magnified and doesn’t need to be super carefully repositioned positioned and that little base plate does not have to be reattached between the two tools make it MUCH more manageable! Subscribing to stay tuned for other helpful tips, tricks, and great creative ideas! Thank you again!
Yes, you should detach it but it’s attached with a magnet so you literally just pull it off and put it in these clips and you’re good to go with the blade, takes about 30 seconds. We have another video coming out in a couple of weeks and I think I show it in there 😊
We normally just use baby wipes (our main medium we work with is polymer clay and you use baby wipes for cleaning almost everything with polymer clay 😂). You could also just give the edges a light sand with 1200 grit sandpaper 😊
Hello! I probably wouldn’t try etching polymer clay, pretty sure it would burn it and make a bit of a mess 🙈 We have not tried rubber stamps yet but did order xtools rubber stamp yesterday so stay tuned, it is on our list of makes to try! ☺️
How exciting Tegan and Karla!! Great video and demonstration. Look forward to seeing how you'll use this machine in your business 😄
Thanks so much, Rhyanna! We’re super excited to share more!

Our pleasure! It may depend on the mylar thickness but it was one of the presets we used, I think it was for the pvc sheet 😊

PS. I actually filmed the installation of the air assist so hopefully we can get a video tutorial for that released soon too!

Do you know if you have the air assist attached whether you need to detach it again to use the blade for cutting vinyl or cardstock etc?

Can I ask how do you clean/wipe the sooty edge off the earrings and other designs. What do you use?

Looks great 😊. I couldn’t get the link to the Australian website to work. Is it just me?
Oh really? Does this link work? xtool.pxf.io/eKd0Az
Hi guys. I got M1 too. I'm wondering if you give a shot with rubber stamps or if it is possible to etch on baked clay?

How thick of mylar stencils does it cut?
This was 10 mil 😊 we have a stencil tutorial coming soon!
