How to Make Stencils Tutorial | DIY stencils for polymer clay and craft projects

  • In this tutorial video we will teach you how to make reusable stencils using a craft blade cutting machine, like the xTool M1, Cricut or Silhouette. Stencils are great for a wide range of craft projects, including polymer clay, wall art, scrapbooking, painting, DIY home decor. As well as being great craft tools for makers, stencils can also be used in baking for creating designs on cakes and cookies, as well as for coffee art.

    Hi Teagen. Back in 2021 a friend gave me a cricut. Unfortunately in the 2022 floods, it and most of my belongings were washed away or ruined. But I have come up with a couple of ways of making my own stencils. Like you I have used laminating pouches and drawn on them, or placed a pattern inbetween the pouch sheets and then cut them out. The other thing I've used is shrink plastic. If I find a pattern I like, but it's too large, I trace or print it onto shrink plastic, shrink it, then cut it out. I have a craft knife that is shaped like a pen that I like the best for cutting out fine details.
