1. In a saucepan with a thick bottom, heat the vegetable and butter, do not make a strong heat
2. Fry the carrots and onions for a minute
3. Add the peppers and tomatoes and fry for a minute too
4. Pour in the pre-washed lentils, mix
5. Pour water, add salt, cover with a lid leaving a small gap and cook at a low boil for 15 minutes
6. Add the finely chopped garlic, stir and cook for another two minutes
