So funny that you said the Bible cause I just recently had this experience reading the book of John🥹. Also, Mieko! Heaven! I just began and I’m finding it hard to keep going. I think it’s because my son just turned 7 and it’s getting really difficult emotionally, which is new because I don’t get emotionally caught up by books in this way. Yet I’m intrigued.

@15:13 “just because you read it doesn’t mean you agree”. Yes, I think I needed to hear that!! I really struggle with an author writing certain things thinking everyone (all their readers) sees/thinks the same way of a personal opinion. Meaning they use their opportunity/platform. Nothing more turns me off a book as quick as that. 😞

Being older now, I can't wear a lot of black leather anymore : (. I've a pair of black gloves I wear whenever I can and my go to jacket is black. I think that for women (my opinion only of course) black has always been the basic building block of a wardrobe, particularly shoes and purses. However, on balance I tend to favor blue. Sometimes - well in the past anyway - people would compliment me on the match to my eyes : )

I agree with you about screens. I love a paper book and looking at something that's not glowing back at me (and not hurting my eyes). Also, good for you to unhaul. I just gave away 7 bags of stuff to the Diabetes Association and a whole box of books (I think there was 30, maybe more). Also, I understand wanting to be a designer, and then... running out of life. It's hard sometimes making conscious choices as to what is needed ATM -even if maybe sometimes it is not completely aligned with desires but NEEDED, truly needed. I have decided to face some fears and actually teach yoga. I don't even know why I have this block but I do and I've decided to unravel what's behind it. As one of my own mentor says, "comfort is the past, discomfort is embracing a possibility, maybe even a better future." I love the unhaul; your minimalist attitude is truly inspiring.

Damn girl you are absolutely right the east coast is too hot, and your boy does not like it hot. That being said, as a bald man, I would love to have a hand knitted hat for fall/winter. Judging by your beautiful sweater, I'm sure you would make an equally beautiful hat. Also, I am exactly the same about curating my stuff, with the marked exception of my books, I collect and keep all my books because it's a dream of mine to eventually own a huge home library. I starting reading this novel this summer and my first mistake was doing so in public, the contents made me feel extremely uncomfortable at first (granted) to the point where I kept putting the book down for a breather since I genuinely couldn’t believe Humperts perverted audacious nature. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I keep very few books now. My father had surgery a few years ago. His hospital roommate had no visitors, no smart phone, and was just sitting there alone reading the oldest, most decrepit book I’ve ever seen because it was all that was available for him to read. I gave him the book that I was reading at the time (Brooklyn), and have donated almost every book I’ve finished reading to our local hospital ever since. I understand everyone has their thing, and if collecting books is their thing that’s wonderful! But reading is my thing, clutter isn’t, and if I’m not going to read it again, there is no point in letting a book collect dust on my shelf when there are people down on their luck who could be enjoying it
