I just finished reading this and ADORED it. (i also love the cover and the texture of the paperpack) . I read it at night before bed over a couple of weeks and the beautiful, gentle prose was the perfect before bed read. I will definitely pick up anything this author writes.
I heard the title somewhere on BookTube but this makes the book sound intriguing. I like the Lot’s wife imagery and also that quote ending with “salt and sand.”
you’re reminding me of this book. I had it out from the library last Summer and started it. Then it got crowded out. I’m glad to have it back on my radar. 👏👏👏
Do you like rereading a book you read recently? I've never liked it but I'm rereading Paul by D. Lafarge b/c it's got so much in it, I feel like I missed a whole bunch of stuff the first time around.
I'm new to book tube and finding my way around. So many choices out there. So many great authors and books. Best wishes to you and your channel. Hope you get some great reads this year.
I'm a big fan of both Bible stories and first novels - though I've had issues with writing teachers in the past : ( Two out of three ain't bad, and this sounds like a good novel. I think the timing of the review worked too, as it's posted on the heels of Play It as It Lays, which dealt with some of the issues you discussed here, including looking back.
You make this sound so good!!!!, but I bought 30 novels in the last month (they just had so many sales, like some books I got for $5 (Dandelion Daughter (a book by a young Canadian transvestite) Pet, Watching Women and Girls, The Vanishing Half, A Saint from Texas and a few more. I even walked by Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow today even though I've been meaning to read it since The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, b/c it's just too many books to read ATM. (P.S.- I used Lot's story in my novel. So much for being original. (What are the chances? Seriously 🙂) ).
@@alanaestelle2076 Yeah, I'm not in a rush. I'm doing the finance courses and taking acrylic classes. So long since I have painted, but they have a charity auction and I'd like to donate. I do recommend Pet. The author really got the voice of a 12 year old girl. Nailed it! Plus, it's such a fast read.

@martasoltys9091 It depends on the book. There's so many I want to read, I don't re-read often. I maybe re-read 3 a year.
Thank you! It's so good!

Same! And that's a good point - there are some overarching themes perhaps between the two novels.
You produce such fantastic reviews. Thank you for this one
