You absolutely cannot use redeploy and covering fire, since its a run ability, and u cant shoot in the same turn as you ran, unless u have run and shoot ability

The reason you cant all out attack in covering fire is because covering fire is a command, and you cant use 2 commands in the same phase on one unit. The enemy that is target absolutely can use all out defense againt your covering fire

Covering fire has keywords SHOOT, ATTACK btw. However I've heard a similar claim that the opponent can't all out defense because you aren't "targeting" a unit before AoD is used. My problem with that is in rule 16.0 it says "When an Attack ability for a unit, you must pick the target unit(s) for its attacks." So in my head you still have to target a unit with the restriction of the effect not applying if you did not choose the closest unit since the effect only resolves against the closest unit. However it's also confusing af the way the ability is worded so I'm not sure lol.

We're you applying it once (army) at the end of every turn? If every unit spread disease each turn, it would be much better I think :)

@@BattleshockWargaming Yep both the apply disease and the damage are at the end of every turn, so it can really spread quickly in both your turn and the opponents. GUO is also great for spreading it to key targets so you can then spread it further. I might have missed something but it seemed like it wasn't being spread very often this game.

From what I've seen it works vest if you can infect more than one unit per turn, so the GUO spell or the tree help, then you can also use the spread to all within 3" option. I feel sad that most ppl don't seem to be playing with trees, why not?

@@BattleshockWargaming Fortunately we played it right in this case. Between the GUO's spell, offensive tree placement from horticulus slimux, and the once per end of turn, I was able to get it on them before EoT and then spread it EoT rather than apply it. After you get it on ~3 units the dmg with the Tallyband battalion is good and they just cant shake it off fast enough. You can even add the rotbringer shooting unit that lets you apply if with the EoT ability via countershoot off turn.

is this in the core rules? The 1.5 core rules I read states "Some factions have special terrain features called faction terrain features. Faction terrain features have their own warscrolls. They are not considered to be units, with the following exceptions:" those exceptions dont specify anything about the unit fighting...

This is correct. Unless specified otherwise, units on Faction terrain cannot fight.

We filmed this before skaventide box or any practice games. Mistakes will happen :)

couldnt do the realmshaper ability because i failed the mini mission, enemy was within my territory. And dave stayed away from terrain so i couldnt blow anything up.

I think that is a specific rule for all unlimited spells. They can be cast multiple times but cannot target the same unit more than once, no matter how often you cast it.

So dave and i read this in detail, and it comes down to the rule of 1. The question became is a spell a passive. Looking at 5.4 it says that abilities that have passive timings are called passives. Passive abilities are not declared. We ruled that since you have to declare the spell its not passive. there isnt really anything that states the spell becomes passive after casting. if there is you help us out and point us in the right direction.

@@BattleshockWargaming Dang, nevermind on my point. I usually play Soulblight, and both their unlimited spell and Nagash's warscroll "unlimited" spell both say in the wording that you cannot target the same unit more than once. Neither of the Seraphon unlimited spells have that restriction. I just assumed that's how all unlimited spells worked, but apparently not. That's good to know.

​@@BattleshockWargaming it is 28.1 Persisting Effects in the core rules. It states that abilities that are not resolved immediately are treated the same way as passives (such as +1 to save for the rest of the turn, or in this case -1 from rend until the start of your next turn)

Correct. If ability doesn't say it's passive it isn't.

​@@bakuchidancerpersisting effects are considered passives. So while technically you can pick the same target, it actually just isn't affected by the same passive. So it doesn't stack.

​@@BattleshockWargaming28.1 persisting effects. Doesn't matter if it's from a spell, abilities are abilities. An ability that applies a persisting effect is treated as a passive.

Its for sure bad that they cant really use manifestations. but if they are going to going for the krondspine seems like the right choice. I would love to see a wizard giant. like a big nerdy giant with a shinny rock and some upside down books
