Another great video -- very well done. I'll just add one historical tidbit: Sacramento was the western terminus of the Pony Express until early 1861, when three more "optional" stops were added in the San Francisco area: Benicia, Martinez and Oakland. If the westbound rider arrived in Sacramento too late to transfer the mail to the ship that was sailing to deliver the mail to San Francisco, the rider would continue on to Benicia, then ferry to Martinez, then ride on to Oakland, from which the mail could be shipped over to San Francisco. The Oakland stop was the westernmost station, located in what is now the tourist area known as Jack London Square.

Well, that answered a question of mine. I always wondered about the origin of the scenic overlook on the way up the current road. With the road being built during the New Deal, it was most likely built by the CCC or WPA. Looking around the overlook, it does appear to me that it was probably built as a campground for the early RVers of the time. You can see vestiges of multiple flattened out places that would accommodate the tiny trailers that were used back then although maybe those were added slightly later in the post war tin can tourist time.

Another great show Steve! I lived in Willits Ca. as a lad, and at the top of Ridgewood grade on the road from Ukiah (now US Hwy 101) is a huge rock, about 50 feet high and a couple of hundred feet around at the base. (It's now been greatly reduced in size to make room for the highway) When I was a kid, before the rock was blasted smaller, the road jogged around the rock. My folks and all the old timers in the area told us every time we went around the big rock the story of Black Bart leaping out from behind the rock to rob the stage coach. I've done extensive research, but I've never been able to verify if the tale is true. But what is verified is the fact that he always walked, and covered many more miles in a day than seem plausible. But due to verified robberies he carried out, and the distances between them, it was amazing that he was able to traverse rough terrain, stay out of sight, and do what he did. Thanks for showing us the Old Geiger Toll Road! Did Dr. Geiger or descendants invent the Geiger counter?

Man I remember the DelMar Stations from the days. It was a great place to get your rock on. Working with Max, The Funk and the Sarge at the old KOZZ was the memories I’ll never forget. The Reno Convention Center was where I saw Ozzy and the Blizzard of Ozz tour. The Tubes at the fair grounds. The Keystone theater was the place of the midnight showing of the Rocky horror picture show. Great Memories, thanks man. Bill Gram Presents was the king of Concerts in the west.

If you saw Randy Rhoads in person then you're in esteemed company - I regret not seeing that - I had the opportunity and blew it as a young person. Cheers!

📚. I'd be interested in his Journey Biography, which would include his personal life experiences, from his immediate family kife birth to Mom's transition, the years followin, his life with Dad, High School, and his meeting and marrying his 1st wife. His personal relationships of family, friends, and with his wife. Then the Journey following that culimated 8nto 6 marriages. This speaks of his personal ideas, his traits, behaviors, and his "Thoughts and Beliefs". This 8s what creates all of our own Life Journey Experiences. (For, the "Universal Law of Attraction" is Absolute. Understanding this Law = Understanding the Universal Truth of how "We each create 100% of our own reality, all our experiences, the s7ccesses, challenges, and even the flow of Positive Abundance, the flow 9f Financial Abundance, or lack there of ...) We an Individual fully Comprehends this fact, they experience their Awaken8ng, when the real8ze 8t is their own: "Thoughts + Feelings X Beliefs" = Our Frequency = Our Reality ... then they become "Realized" There's vast discoveries in the Human Individual Journey of Awakening and the next Journey in Realization. When Real8zed, we Discern with Thoughts through Our "Higher Mind, aka Mature Mind, aka Adult Mind" and prior, we largely Judge through Our "Lower Mind, aka Ego Mind, aka Adolescent Mind". Discernment rather than Judging is key. Beth Bartlett Sociologist/Behavioralist, Historian, and Artist
