From what I have seen and heard from Graham, this is an anti-trans thing rather than a pro-women thing...to label anyone who doesn't agree with him as being someone who doesn't care about women is a joke in itself. Graham comes across as an angry man who just wants to be heard. I think people reacting to people being WOKE (what does this even mean) is just a different side of the same coin, shouting these ‘truisms’ just to be heard and branding their speech as being ‘real’, and labelling people who disagree as being afraid to be real. Let people be people, with regards trans there are some things which I think are wrong, but there are lots of genuine and lovely trans people out there too. Also, who here knows people who has helped their child become trans? Graham speaks about this as being part of everyday life. For a man who is happy to name people, why does he not have names here? Because these ‘most dangerous’ people he is talking about are so few and far between that he can't get names, or he would run out of names quickly. I guess if Graham was real about this point it might weaken his argument, which would be terrible. Should say while I disagree with Graham's approach, I am a big fan of his work.

It is amazing the effort that people go to when they are wrong. Anyone who is convinced they are a victim of a conspiracy, rather than simply taking the time to ascertain whether the thing they are espousing holds up to evidence, has my pity. How do we find out whether engineers know how to build good bridges? Do we work that out by finding the tiny number of people who have been involved in a bridge collapse, and become transfixed by their message that "all bridges are an illusion and bridge engineers are lying to us"? Or do we look at the mechanics of bridge-building and determine whether it conforms to our understanding of physics? Myself, I would choose the latter. It is in the same spirit that I listen to experts on what we know about the challenges that people who consider themselves to not be inhabiting a body which conforms with the internal projection of self, who say that the easier and less traumatic the transition, the more affective it is, and the higher the probability that that person who live a life closer to their best chance for well-being. Yes, it goes wrong on occasion. Yes, some people come to regret it and some people feel the decision was encouraged beyond their later realisations that it was a phase, but if you look at the data which the mental-health and medical professions are presenting, they are a small percentage to the number of people who are content with transition. People like Lineham (who is a wonderful comic writer) get caught up in the emotion of their belief and then find they have an audience of people to pander to; people who have pre-determined ideas based on their particular position in the Dunning-Kruger effect. Everyone I have spoken to who is "up in arms" about the social norm to be accepting of people who, for their own choice, are deciding to transition, display their general ignorance to the data that is there for anyone to examine, as to the medical successes that are the increasing norm. But aside from this; for the vast majority of people who decide to transition, they are adults, and what adults do to further their own well-being, which is not hurting anyone else, is really their own business! We spend sooooooo much time raving about this when it affects such a tony percent of the population, that every article on it from here on in is essentially redundant before it comes out, because all of these over-blown arguments have been made by angry, non-experts over and over again until we are all sick of hearing of it. There are far, far more pressing things that should be occupying our attention! Please people! Let's all have a good, hard look at our own personal biases and consign ourselves to how we are going to stop ourselves from getting triggered by them, and then let's commit ourselves to doing something positive in the world, like helping to work on a real-world problem, facing the majority. If you are short of ideas, try an independent website that examines different support groups and charities that you can invest your time in, like: www.charitynavigator.org, www.charitywatch.org, greatnonprofits.org Don't say I don't help you out!
