Well, normal is a word that only applies to a specific individual. My normal is much different than anyone else's. Basically for a group purpose the word normal like you said, has never really had any meaning in my opinion.
I think this wonan touched on a point I often see over looked, just how much laziness actually drives a lot of seemingly progressive choices. I'm a former language teacher and I have seen and heard about many mind boggling sopposedly progressive decisions by school administrators that seems ideological on the surface but once you dig deeper were just lazy attempts at risk mitigation. A great example was a school in Bramton Ontario that removed all library books older than 15 years to prevent offensive material. They weren't really caring about progressive ideologies since plent of those books were gonna get purged too, it was just a really lazy thoughtless way to try to avoid potentially controversial books causing complaints for the administration.

The Charity Commission, the College of Policing, and the Home Office, and the Department of Education should all be disbanded. The Quangos ARE political. They are just out of any democratic supervision and control. This was deliberate policy.
