The population of Ireland is currently more than 7 million. The confusion might arise due to the Republic's pop of 5 million, but there are also 2 million in the 6 counties. The figure of 8 million from mid 1800s is an all-Ireland figure. In 1990 the all-Ireland number was 5 million, not 2 million as mentioned here. Neither speaker here seems to have any knowledge of Ireland - which is fine, but I'd suggest to viewers not to take their opinions about Ireland as having any insight or, indeed, clue.

1:02 Your statistics are all over the place. The number you've given for the population before the famine pertains to the island of Ireland. Then you go on to compare it with the population of the Republic of Ireland, which makes no sense. You need to compare like with like, and unless you know the size of the population of ROI from before the famine (which didn't exist back then) you need to go with the island of Ireland numbers, which are: just over 8 million before famine and just over 7 million now.
It wasn't a famine, it was ethnic cleansing by the British in order to clear the land of "field monkeys". The hatred and loathing of the ethnic Irish by the British and an opportunity to clear the population from the land. The population has never recovered. This Irish history is not explained to the British children. The unification of Ireland has to happen for this to fully heal.
It is explained. I was at school in the 60's and I know full well what Cromwell did to the irish and Elizabeth I and all of the bad stuff ending with' the famine and the racism. We were told in our history lessons and we werent spared. we were told the truth. I , like so many , have irish ancestry . My maternal great grandfather was Irish and ended up being a vicar in Kent. I worked in soho in the 70's when the troubles were going on and round the corner a bomb went off laid by the IRA.
A lot of people think Ireland's population is drastically underestimated now and I definitely think this. I've travelled most of Europe especially western Europe and only the lowlands, England and Germany compare for density to Ireland especially the east of Ireland

You need to do your research before you speak. Lots of land in the west of Ireland is uninhabitable. Fact. If we didnt have the room for our own , how can we make room for migrants. Villages with no jobs or housing are being landed with migrants in numbers greater than native villagers. No room no homes no jobs for our young people.
it collapsed to about 2 million people 20 or 30 years ago?...........I'm Irish, in my 40's and I can say straight out that is a blatant lie, it was about 3.5 for decades adding about 100 thousand every 10 years, between the years 2000 and 2010 it jumped by 700 thousand , from 2010 to 2020 by 300 thousand , you can add on a couple of tens of thousands for each decade and it brings you up to about 5 or 5.1......the math ain't hard on this one and even a quick google search will show you the data since Ireland does census reports every 5 years or so, What I don't understand is why you would lead with such an obvious false hood.......whats the angle?
I agree, his numbers are all over the place. In addition to what you outlined, he also compared the population size of the island of Ireland from before the famine to the population size of the Republic of Ireland now. It makes no sense. He is trying to make a point by quoting distorted statistics.
The angle is simple..... Ireland both sides of the border has proven that the uk's brexit is a failure and that Ireland with the Irish Allies of the EU and USA got the United Ireland Protocol.... the british can't stand to lose to Ireland. In 2018 the UK Government set up the Irexit party in Ireland under Hermann Kelly, this became the Irish Freedom Party in 2019 and in 2021 Britain First set up in Ireland lead by the returning migrant Derek Blighe along with Combat 18, which intimidate elected members of parliament and arson (they did this in Ireland too.) In May 2021 the unelected Brexit Minister David Frost and Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis (the fool that said "Yes. This does break international law in a very specific and limited way.") met a delegation from the Loyalist Communities Council (LCC) to encourage terrorists to attack Ireland. Recently, the "Coolock Says No" group, which paraphrased Rev Ian Paisley, met with the UDA, presumably to organise an Orange Day Parade on May 17th. From November 2023 to July 2024, The Guards caught over 7,000 refugees weaponised by the UK Government against Ireland and the Irish Border. When Russia did similar in other EU countries it was called Hybrid Warfare but when the uk does it to Ireland, it is okay.

No. Holodomor is a Ukrainian word, and pertains to the human-made famine specifically in Ukraine in the early 1930s.
Are they going to mention the reason for Irelands decimated population since the 1600?
In 1986 the popp was 3.5m .
Two many here full stop ✋️
I'm not too fond of our political leaders who I consider to be traitors
You’te also seeing age groups emigrating that didn’t previously. I re-trained and moved to China for work. I’m in my late forties and female. It’s a new trend I think. I was only surviving week to week in Ireland.
The irish are now leaving ireland in huge numbers
😂😂 ireland was already empty ya goon 😂😂
The overwhelming majority of global Irish stock lives outaide of Ireland and claim lands in north America and Australasia as theirs and their offsprings birthright over people of those lands and region
Not as many as the UK. Ye seem to be re-colonizing Australia at the moment.
As per usual
No they are not, 34,700 Irish people left in April 2023 - April 2024 and 30,000 returned in same CSO reporting period. Irish people are going to Australia on career breaks of two years as that is the length of the standard visas and to the uk as it is still the closest country to Ireland..
@@roryoneill9444 Yeah but the britards and their bosses in Washington want us to live in a constant bed wetting status like they do.
If you are young and ambitious in Ireland it is a no brainer that you should leave and seek a comfortable life elsewhere! What is there to stay for ? 🙄
They are staying for good jobs with excellent promotions opportunities in the top companies in the world or they could be a bar person in the uk or a farm worker in Australia.... yeah it is a no brainer if you are young and ambitious in Ireland going to the uk to be called a "Paddy" to your face or clean up sheep 💩 in Australia for minimum wage would be a whole lot better than working in the top ten Multinationals in the world.
@@roryoneill9444I would imagine they would be called by their name ?my neighbour is Scottish and called Alex, why would I call him any different. It might be safer for people to leave,I’m starting to feel unsafe in my village in Yorkshire and the elderly has stopped going into town. It’s only Muslim men with an aggressive attitude and watching children in the park. The problem is money, wage to wage means stopping and watching the rot set in.
1:15 yeah we have a larger population of Irish Americans than there are Irish in Ireland.
Irish Americans? Get away with ya.
why dont they send them to Isreal, Isreal dosnt have a tent city YET, and they do need one as they are doing very well over there will all the USA money sent to them building their infrastructure!
Hilarious that irish people can vote for... UK General Elections.
What an absolute joke.
Don't think that we can I've never heard of it in my 42 years .
We've just had an election and the Irish people (turkeys) just voted for the same parties to lead (Christmas).
@jamesbyrne295 ... I'm French, been living in the UK for 25 years, cop for over 17 years, always paid my taxes, NEVER claimed benefits, yet I can't vote to vote to choose the leader of the country !!!... Is this f*cking "democracy", "equality" and "fairness" ???...
UK citizens can,of course, vote in Irish elections.
And there are about 70million of us.
Have a think about that.
@nickbarber2080 Yeah. I feel so much better. Do they get a poxy chocolate medal if they get injured on duty while savng the lives of good'old marmite-loving, unemployed, pot-smoking Brits ???... Oh, nope, it's just me then.
Realy very interesting how would you do that
The population of Ireland is currently more than 7 million.
3.5m in 90s over 5.5 million now ...1.5million new people arrived
@@paddioche New arrived is that would being born is called now... the 20,000 plus net natural population increase per annum and the returning migrants in the 00s are new arrivals..... wait until I tell my niece that her two kids are new arrivals and my other nieces that went on a career holidays to Australia and the USA are not returning home to do Research Masters but are new arrivals.
@@paddioche Ireland both north and south are still 80% Irish…. For now but you need to mobilise and soon
I’m an Anglo-Gael raised in England believe me the English have woken up to what their government and royal family did
Collapsed to about 2 million people??? ..you might want to fact check that 😂
I read that if the famine hadn’t happened and the population continued to grow then Ireland would be the most densley populated area of Europe today!
And your point is?
There is 7 million on the island now and about 8 million in middle of the 1800s.
The 5 million you said now is just the republic.
A lot of people think Ireland's population is drastically underestimated now and I definitely think this. I've travelled most of Europe especially western Europe and only the lowlands, England and Germany compare for density to Ireland especially the east of Ireland
Why exactly do we have to be kind to anyone for whatever reason?
It isn't illegal to be selfish
We ,no it’s a few rich people,we were never asked and when we objected, we were ignored. They always say we,there’s no we about it.
Just back from madeira a european island off the coast of morocco with no grazing land. Beef is like 2/3 the price as it is in ireland, its ridiculous
My dad was in Roscrea Cistercian's for skool for a bit but only until they couldn't afford it really. Everyone was praying the Rosary during the Cuban missile crisis there but I guess no one realised the cold war was a cover for the final deletion of what little Catholicity was left by the 60's e.g., the liturgy is 100% bible based in case you haven't noticed.
Nothing about papist superstitions is bible based
@@geordiewishart1683 The bybaal was written literally From Hell thru ded freemasons (Jews) who needed to subvert the story of God's time here so as to steal everyone's soul).. What ur looking for is whatever the first copies of the Missale Romanum looked like for the word of God + instruction manual called a Rituale Romanum.
This explains a lot!
Neither of these people are very bright
Derek Domino has some interesting videos about the current state of Ireland.
He's a clown
One had one's freedom from the British
Unfortunately the Irish kindness is weakness.
You are sooooo correct, if de 'RA had made those two phone calls in 1996 in Manchester and London, they would have pussied out like they did at Dunkirk and hid on their island. The brits would not have set up agents in Ireland to undermine the Irish Government after getting the United Ireland Protocol.
3.30 there were non Irish involved in looting
You need a Trump goverment
😂😂😂 trump is Scottish clown 😂😂 Ireland is being islamified. Trump promised a "Moslem ban" but then went back on his ban. 😂😂
"Raped systematically?"
That is an absolutely absurd statement.
Ask the Swedes and Germans. My guess is you'd rather cover things up than risk offending anybody with the truth. To attempt to say anything more on this platform is pointless
Have you seen the amount of rape and SA by islamic migrants dipshit????
Ngo bot
I think the angle is there are two many foreign agents taking up the locals facilities
I agree, his numbers are all over the place. In addition to what you outlined, he also compared the population size of the island of Ireland from before the famine to the population size of the Republic of Ireland now. It makes no sense. He is trying to make a point by quoting distorted statistics.
So what? It makes zero difference to the fact you're being deliberately replaced if only you had the intellect to realise it.
The angle is simple..... Ireland both sides of the border has proven that the uk's brexit is a failure and that Ireland with the Irish Allies of the EU and USA got the United Ireland Protocol.... the british can't stand to lose to Ireland.
In 2018 the UK Government set up the Irexit party in Ireland under Hermann Kelly, this became the Irish Freedom Party in 2019 and in 2021 Britain First set up in Ireland lead by the returning migrant Derek Blighe along with Combat 18, which intimidate elected members of parliament and arson (they did this in Ireland too.)
In May 2021 the unelected Brexit Minister David Frost and Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis (the fool that said "Yes.
What percentage of Ireland is Irish native ?
Wasn't a famine it was a genocide
Israel gets to have a ethnic state, why can't the Irish?
Israel is not an ethnic state. There are 21% Arab ( mostly Muslim , about 5% Christians) and 6% more immigrants from all around the world (far east, Africa,South America,Europe)
in Israel. Not every lie that is being said in the Irish media is true.
Israel haven't been stealing billions of Euros from the EU countries since 1990's, Ireland have been.
"Ethno nationalism for me but multiculturalism for thee"
Barbara Lerner Spectre and her tribe, that's why.
@tallguy7984 yes and they are treated like 3rd class citizens there,.
Perhaps ylu want to tell that tk Israel and Jews in general who state that there jewish religion is part of their ethnicity no matter how daft it sounds.
3.5 million irish 2 million foreigners
Not even remotely accurate.
Stop saying there was 8 million. Or taking about covering our fields. This’ll justify what’s happening

So based on the election results… not much will change?? Is there a serious opposition party that could gain votes next time?
