@robmortimer9762 the reason for taking the inner door panel off is to gain access to install the rivetnut and to drill the 1/2" holes in the plastic inner panel. The spacers that go into the 1/2" holes are just thicker than the plastic of the panel so you're not squeezing the plastic when the mounting bolts are tightened. Without removing the inner panel it is tricky to get the rivetnut installed correctly. It is possible but much easier overall to remove the panel. Installation is very simple. No templates to line up correctly. Just remove the body clip from the inside door panel. Drill from the inside through the steel frame and outside panel. Insert the bolt and thread it onto the mirror base. I put a video out 4 years ago on how to use this method to mount mirrors back when there were no mirrors designed to be used this way. Since then I have created a mirror kit with the correct bolts included. I went with black stainless steel. I will have the mirrors ready for sale on flatlanderoffroad.com this weekend, 5/26/24. They are the same mirrors, but my kit includes the correct size bolt. Our bolts are black stainless steel with thread locker applied. Other brands don't use the correct length bolt, or you have to find it yourself. And there's is not black or stainless. I was right!! Your video answered my questions of concern. I wanted to get a awareness of the Rzr 170 capabilities on trails Your video explained how theres very low ground clearance, so where you driving better be mostly flat grounds.

I don't think it will help with that. But it will help so your doors don't swing open too far and bend the hinges.

The door bracket bolts have vibra-tite on them already and the shorter two bolts attach with the original lock nut so you shouldn't need additional lock tight.

Will these fit a 2021 Polaris ranger 1000 XP or do you have any

We never had an issue with the hills we drove on. I could see it being a problem on steeper hills with loose gravel if you stop on the hill. Polaris did have a big wheel kit at one time with a different sprocket and larger tires. That sprocket could help but I would try it stock first. There are many aftermarket products for it as well. We used it often and really liked it until the kids grew out of it. Thank you for the feedback.

@@flatlanderoffroad8189, thanks so much for the quick reply. It's good to know there's something to try if it doesn't work with the stock setup. We just had some timber taken out on our property and the guys did a really nice job leveling and dragging the trails on their way out. We don't have any loose rock. There's one spot in particular that I have some concern because of how steep it is, but I'll drive it first before putting a kid behind the wheel.

This set is for the doors of all current Ranger XP 1000 regular cabs and front doors on the crew cabs. Rear door struts for the crew are coming soon. This would be 2018 and up regular cabs and 2019 and up crew cabs. Thanks for the question!

I'm not sure how the mirrors would mount on those doors.

I don't think so Kevin. I'm 200+ and it handled me in there just fine.

Mine is a glass tip-out. Polaris part # 2882874. Very expensive but I wouldn't go without it.

@@flatlanderoffroad8189 thank you for the quick reply! Do you have a preferred roof? The Polaris brand roof has awful reviews. I'm fine with the black plastic style, I just don't want any leaks.

@@MontexansHomestead I have had leaks in the front since the beginning. I replaced the windshield due to a rock chip. The new part number had a front seal kit included. It helped quite a bit but still have a smaller leak. Much better. I have the Polaris plastic roof. If you go that route the install instructions told me to connect the two pieces while on the machine. Not possible. I connected them on the work bench then installed the full roof as one piece. Easy install that way. I have had no leaks except in the ones on the front which are now minor. I have no other experience with other roofs.

I agree about the price. Fit is very good and it is holding up well. I would like an intermittent setting.

It's a mirror from seizmic that's designed to go on a round roll cage bar but I left the roll cage clamp off and just mounted it flat against the door. The the video description has the part number listed if you need it.

I tried making a link to a photo I took. We'll see if that works. If you have the larger wiper motor assembly with the switches mounted up by the rear view mirror instead of on the dash then I don't know of a way to mount the mirror to it. I don't know if they are adjustable. I am starting to wonder if there is a difference between the fit of the inner door panels of the manual and the power window doors. I had someone else recently say they added a washer (on the mirror bolt) between the panel and the inner frame which helped reduce the pressure on the glass from the weather stripping. Let me know what works out
