@@flatlanderoffroad8189 the videos we awesome. We trailered up to North of Lake Superior last weekend, and rode in some pretty rough terrain. No issues with the mirrors at all.
I will have the mirrors ready for sale on flatlanderoffroad.com this weekend, 5/26/24. They are the same mirrors, but my kit includes the correct size bolt. Our bolts are black stainless steel with thread locker applied. Other brands don't use the correct length bolt, or you have to find it yourself. And there's is not black or stainless. If you contact me through our site or at flatlanderoffroad@gmail.com I can provide some photos of the mirrors and hardware. I hope to talk to you soon.
Do you think you could take all the screws off the door and separate the door in half? I'm looking to get the seizmik night vision mirrors which would require me to somehow run a wire up through the door.
My windows go up very hard, is there a way to adjust them? They were hard before the mirror install so I thought I’d try some silicone on the window tracks but it did not make a difference. Took the mirror back off and it doesn’t make any difference on how it goes up and down. Any suggestions?
I don't know if they are adjustable. I am starting to wonder if there is a difference between the fit of the inner door panels of the manual and the power window doors. I had someone else recently say they added a washer (on the mirror bolt) between the panel and the inner frame which helped reduce the pressure on the glass from the weather stripping. Let me know what works out
Worked like a champ. Mirrors are solid as can be. Being able to fold them back for storage or narrow trails is a plus. Thanks for the video. I wanted mirrors on my Northstar and have been waiting for an OEM solution but that appears to be a ways off.
Very helpful video for a mirror solution on my 2020 Northstar Ultimate - Thanks! I just ordered the Seizmik Pursuit #18071 mirrors (wanted a little sleeker look and the mirror has a notched position so I can easily put them back to the original position when I fold them inward to get it in my enclosed trailer). Hoping that I will be able to angle them enough to see out the passenger side. Quick note on the Fastenal bolt you used. None of my local Fastenal stores had them in stock and Fastenal wanted $9 to ship 2 bolts that were $2.50 each. I found the same bolt at a local industrial bolt supply store for .55 cents just by giving them the Fastenal part #. Thanks again for posting.
Great idea. My question is dod you pop the bottom of the door off to get rid of all the metal shavings after drilling through? Wouldn’t want to just leave all the metal shavings and crap in the bottom of the door right?
I really like the crew. We've had six people in it at the time on the trail and it handles it just fine. It wouldn't change a thing as far as how the suspension is set up with the portals and the 32-in tires. The full cab makes it useful all year long. The heater is plenty warm for cold rides and the tip out windshield gives us enough ventilation in the summer.
It is pretty loud at high speeds but listening to music or talking to each other in the cab on trail is ok. I do have the sound deadening panel behind the rear seats but I didn't do anything else to try to quiet it down.
Just ordered a set for my 20' Northstar Ultimate. Looks like it works great and definitely has a OEM look. Curious what size hole is that you actually drilled?
I drilled mine to 7/16 because of the step drill bit I was using but the bolt would have fit through a 13/32 hole. The 7/16 hole worked well though. There is no play at all.
What’s the screw you removed holding? Seems like your squeezing the door together without holding what the original screw was holding. Glad it works though. Thought about trying to get a spool in between sides enabling clamping force. Nice videos.
The bolt goes through a square tube that is part of the inner frame of the door. There's no space between the inner and outer plastic of the door and that square tube so the bolt for the mirror doesn't compress the door at all so there's no need to add support on the interior. The original body clip attaches to a hole in that square frame just to hold the inner panel on the door. The bolt now holds that all together well. Rod thanks for the feedback and let me know if you have any other questions.
Installed them last week. Took about 15 minutes! Used the 55MM screws from Fastenal. They work great! Thanks!!
That's awesome! Mine are holding up perfectly after 4,000 miles. Thanks for the comment. Glad the video helped.

Thank You that worked very well for me. Easy Install!
You're welcome Tim! I'm glad it helped.
Can I use tnese mirrors on the doors with roll down plastic windows with the zipper?
I'm not sure how the mirrors would mount on those doors.
What is the part number for the mirrors in the video?

Your video is the best. It helped me out so much. The job took about 30 minutes. Thank you!

Install the mirrors today per your suggestion. They work and look GREAT! Pretty neat deal you came up with. Thanks

Yes you can. My dealer had to take my door apart to zip tie some wires out of the way that we're making the window bind when it went up and down.

I did like you did on the mirrors - love it 😊 THANKS !

I didn't. I don't think there would be much in there when you drill from both sides but might be worth looking.
How did you like your crew? Noisy inside cab ? Suspension good? Did you have a review video for the crew ? Thanks

Flatlander Offroad you should make a video of this machine and your pro and con thanks
@@middlehot I appreciate the feedback. it's been in the works for a while but I'll have to speed up the process.
