@@WhittlesWheels I am wondering if your paint is a little thin?
He's it got wet brake's. If so it's a Mark 2.
@@henrymichaelwilson8107 no dry brakes. All 65 have dry brakes.
@Mr_b_yorkshire_farmer no they don't. Mark 1 have dry brake's. Unless they have been massed about with. Mark 2 are wet generally. There's also industrial witch can verrie. A friend of mine does plowing comps. He has a fleet of 65 s he will tell you anything you want to know about Massey Ferguson tractor's.
@@henrymichaelwilson8107 are you? In the U.K.? Because every 65 in the U.K. has dry ones.
@Mr_b_yorkshire_farmer tim buc to.
@Mr_b_yorkshire_farmer Hello Mr B. My friend with the Massey Ferguson plowing tractor is a half breed it has a 165 back end and gear box. The only true parts are the engine and tin work. So you are right about the dry brakes. He has other half breed tractors for forestry work. So I'm sorry about doubting your word.
That's some shine you got there. Is that 2 pack mixed paint? Do you find it easier to put on than single pack paint which can run easily?
@@keithk1246 I do use two pack yes. The problem I find with single pack is the quality is not there. I have found the two pack keep looking fresh for longer. The only problem is that it looks more plastic than single pack. That’s the down side.
Looking great the 65 Richard, will nip down when you've get her complete, paint job looks great all the very best for the new year my mate. PS can you spray the Atki bumper for me ? .
@@andrewturner8755 what colour?
You want to get some nitrile gloves on, old oil and diesel is seriously bad for your skin
Nossel size is very important when it comes to getting a good quality finish.
I’ve recently found paint stripping discs on a 4” grinder are great for fetching off thick paint, leaves a nice smooth finish as well. 🙂👍
@@ianwallett7438 I have just googled the stripping disc. I have never tried them. I will be doing now. Thank you.
Looking great that Richard👍
I think it fine on left for ploughing as can shine across to your levelling box
Mine 165 is also back in the field. Love 'm

Looks great to me Richard - Well done. Enjoy what I'm sure will be a "festive" New Years Eve 🍻
@@trevorsidley7697 cheers. And the same to you.
Nice job shame to get it dirty
What is the brand and shade of red you used? I understand they changed colours around the time of your tractor. I have a 1965 MF135 and would like to paint some parts, but as close to original as possible. Great painting tips by the way, thanks.
@@classicrider5274 the red is mixed from a sample from the tractor. I like a darker shade. I have heard a few conflicting story’s on what year exactly the paint colour was changed.
@ thanks for info about colours.
Probably better paint than wen came out of the factory 👍
@@nippinkoi8924 probably so. But if Ferguson was off to a show how would they present it?
A beautiful job. I love the shiny red and the grey.
Looking good! I really need to get my 135 out of hibernation and restore it!
Where did you source the wire wrapped wires to power the light's? Looks the part
@@DanDuggan-x6t the complete automotorist But. This is an off cut I got many years ago. It is very expensive now. I was going to try and make my own for this tractor.
crackin job mrB
9:25 100% agree with you, its your tractor, build it the way you want it. Looks like its a MK 2 65 from what i can see, great job your doing there with the restoration.

@@GeoffreyMoore-i9k thank you for your comment. Yes thank you and I hope you have too.
Did they fit bigger front wheels to level tractor up or longer struts for front wheels
@@bobcrawford2105 just standard tyres. I have put it on 7.50 to try and help. The high clearance with 38” rears had longer stubs. I think they were trying to complete with the Major

Hello there Mr B. I have a Massey Ferguson 390T. 4x4 From the 1990s. A 90 hp tractor and a 265 from the 1980s. What is yours a 165 or 175.

Nothing like the oily sweet smell of being around those ol girls, that’s my kind of perfume 😆
Nothing sounds as good as the old mechanical Cummins and CATS both, good driving there brother 🐾✌️🇺🇸
Love old Mack's, learned on a 500+RW with Mack 12spd, best I ever did was 3rd reverse before I got scared 😂, loved driving it, heat worked in the summer AC in the winter , see a big hill grab a full gear hammer down and let the black smoke roll!

Learnt something new, cranking the T20 pto to raise the linkage with a fergy spanner.
What a lovely truck. That’s an awful lot of gear changing though.
@@radharcanna I was very young. And back then I thought it was what people wanted to see.
@ No, I think it’s fantastic. I loved the video. I’m just fascinated by the contrast between these old trucks and modern trucks with automatic transmissions. The drivers back then had to have great skill in choosing the correct gear for the road conditions. They seemed to spend most of their time in the cab on changing gears. More videos like this please.
Great video lads very informative have to do the clutch in one today 👍
Remind me ? Three air lines. Service , emergency , and ? I remember from going with my dad in his old buffalo but can’t remember why they were 3 .
@@deanwelsh5702 the blue one is secondary. Some times you would have a dead man brake in the cab. It would operate that line.
@ thank mr B . I couldn’t quite remember. I have fond memories of going with my dad first in an Atkinson boarder artic when I was 4 or 5 then a leyland buffalo then an erf b series then a leyland cruiser. He didn’t do nights out and the odd time he did they got him a hire truck. That’s when I experienced a Volvo f7 a daf 2800 and a Volvo f10 very exciting for a young lad . So much so that I passed my class 1 in 2001 and have been totally falling out of love with lorry driving ever since. 🤣
