Chevy LS DOD Delete in Envoy or Trailblazer
I bought an Envoy Denali cheap, but it was broken! I figured it was the DOD system so I started taking it apart and sure enough, that was it. This video will give you a pretty good overview on the work needed to complete this task. If you can do this yourself you'll save about $1200 or so in labor from my estimation. Have fun!

800+whp LS Turbo IS300 BURNOUT

I got a nail basically on the sidewall of my tire on my daily. It was impossible to find one new tire, so I decided instead of plugging it and being sketched out about it, I'd just do a giant burnout on them and replace the tires. Here's what happened.

From Rags to Sickness - Envoy exterior transformation

Short vid I put together showing what the exterior looked like from when I got it (it was sitting under a tree for 6 months) till now! I cleaned up the exterior, got new headlights, had the rear bumper and side skirts repainted and put some Trailblazer SS wheels on it. It's looking pretty nice now! It's not perfect, but I think it looks great! I really like this little truck. It'd be awesome to...
How to CLEAN carpet and leather seats like a Pro. Decimate stains
Просмотров 4673 года назад
This process worked really well for me in removing stains in my carpet and leather seats. I used a "medium" hardness drill brush on a cordless drill for the carpet, seats, and interior plastic. For the carpet I used Chemical Guys Fabric Clean. After the product was thoroughly worked into the fabric I used a water extractor that I rented from Home Depot filled with warm water. For the plastic an...
Cleaning my dirty broken GMC Envoy Denali!

Hey guys! So I've been looking for a small v8 truck for a support vehicle and something to do truck things with. I came across a listing on Facebook Marketplace that was six months old that someone posted a few hundred miles from me. Well, I talked to the guy long enough to decide that I bet the DOD system was broken. We talked about a price and I went over and checked it out. The truck was SUP...
Ford 8.8 IRS Rebuild
Просмотров 13 тыс.4 года назад
I decided to rebuild my own rear end after getting a few quotes to do it for $500. The process wasn't too bad, and so far I've driven nearly 500 miles on it with about 600whp and it feels great and is very quiet. I had access to most of these tools which helped, but I did have to buy some specialty tools that I didn't have. This should be a fairly complete list of tools needed to do this job: T...
Custom drag spoiler for my LS Turbo Lexus. Street car!!!

If you like the video shoot me a like if you could please. I'm just a little guy and it'd help me out. I like the drag spoiler look on a street car and wanted to try it out on my car, but no one really makes one. I searched and found a few examples, but I like the "strutless" look a bit more and I've never seen that style on the IS300, so I made my own! I did everything with basic hand tools, m...
Fitting a Ford 8.8 into a Lexus IS300!
Просмотров 3,8 тыс.4 года назад
This is a decent overview of my custom install of a Ford 8.8 into my LS Turbo IS300. I did all of the work on this one too, including rebuilding the diff! Its been in the car for about 400 miles and everything works great, I did it! I've never done a diff swap or worked with any Ford parts so it was a learning experience for sure.

I have an 06 with 150k and 1 cyclnder already took a 💩 so now I have a 5 cylinder POS 🥴
@@xdi1733 hate to hear it. I hear those engines are actually pretty decent too ..
@TurboV8boi I reved it up to redline and a piston ring gave up the ghost 👻 😂 The thing is a nasty gas guzzler I grew to hate it so much I grabbed a Camry and I get 35 miles to the gallon now. I spend $25 to $30 a week on gas it's mind blowing the difference at $4 a gallon in Cali it's such a a relief 😮💨
@@xdi1733 oh yeah, if you don't need a little truck a Camry is great. I have a Honda Accord too haha
Looks nice. We have a 02 TL lowered and 20 inch SS wheels haha. Would you happen to know the size of the bolts, we misplaced them and now want to reinstall the cargo rack?
I got the exact same thing. Just put it on KW suspension 862 cylinder heads and Stage2 GM cam
@@MrRosscopeco hell yeah brother. This truck has 210k on it and for all I know it has the original 4l60 in it. Well over the last few weeks it's made some very questionable downshifts lol. Looking to put a 4l80 in it haha
Please be careful with your face that close to a bearing under load in a press like that. A bearing can explode. And it only takes a small piece and an eye is gone.
What causes axles did you use or can you reuse the us300 shafts
@@mattyboytattoos I bought custom Drive Shaft Shop axles. They were pretty expensive but shouldn't ever break at least

Your animal!! It’s so beastie
What did you ever do with the turbo kit I’d be interested if you have it
Bought a Saab 9-7x 5.3i with a non dod misfire I think it may be a valve. Any advice
If you've already done spark plugs (NGK is good) and good spark plug wires then you could do a leakdown test. If the valve it jacked up you should be able to confirm. If it is your head it's really not that big of a deal to pull it and probably just replace the head with a good used one. Should be able to find one for like $250
I been thinking about cutting out the spare tire part in the trunk and the sides just under trunk vents (mainly because of rust) but and mking it flat. But also been thinking that and setting-up a air damn and putting radiator and turbos back there
Yeah you could do that. I thought about doing the cooling system in the rear at one point too it'd really open up a lot of room in the engine bay!
Hey there looking at getting one of these with a lifter tick. Im a porsche tech so im definitely mechanically inclined but is doing this in a weekend on a rust belt car well within reason
I think that's possible. The rust belt thing I don't know though. I live in texas so I don't have to deal with rusty vehicles, I'm sure that's a PITA
Curious how your got the front axle housings out of the way to get at the oil pan? They look inaccessible to me.
Truck looks great. Just bought one for 5500 today. 90k miles. Do you have a video or removing the roof rack? Head unit too. Wheels look great too.
Love this car man. beat is still hard 10 years later
Thanks!!! Glad your Denali is going strong!!!! I love the ride - the handling. In Mexico they have a lot of Envoys, but they don't sell the V8's down there and the shops love to see the V8 Envoy - they say "It's very RARE in Mexico". Still, they can always work on a Chevy product anywhere in Mexico. My other car is a 2001 Suburban with 320K miles on it - most of these miles are touring in Mexico. Still, no answer on my repair, but they seem to be working on it. Oh, a head job in the USA is Expensive, but they'll do it for $520 in Mexico!!! And the Mechanics are not parts replacers - they do it the right way and they do it economically!!!!
The Envoy Denali is an amazing vehicle; however, the 16 mpg is something you cannot fix. I towed mine to Mexico for 4K worth of work for 1K and it's in amazing condition and handles like a sports car. After it was all fixed up, a suburban driver passed out crossed the median and crashed into a car redirected to crash into my grill, so NOW it in the shop getting insurance work done on it. I end up driving a Corolla, which is terrible in comparison. Cannot wait to get my Denali back!!!!
I've really been enjoying it! 16 isn't too bad I don't think for a body on frame little truck with a v8. It does get 19-20 on the highway which honestly i think is pretty good. Sorry to hear about yours I hope they get it fixed up!
Looks more like a mini van now
Always did 😅
Make more videos dude! Your channel will definitely get tons of engagement and will become popular quickly!!!
Radiator fluid?
Nice!!
That bad girl looks more complicated under the hood than a modern woman
At least the car doesn't complain 😂
I love Lexus and I love this beast
Hey bro what did you use to cover the holes after taking off the luggage rack? Please let me know.
I used some "hex button head stainless steel socket cap screws." I believe I just got them from Home depot, but I don't rememeber the bolt pattern. Bring a bolt with you to match it up. I didn't worry about them leaking too much, but if you really wanted to be sure they sealed up you could use some aluminum washers or even a tiny bit of gasket material under the head of the bolt
@TurboV8boi ok so they are actual screws?
@@DBrown820 they are bolts that's just what home depot calls them haha
@TurboV8boi can you just use the ones it came with or will they be too long?
Ok so I just got my truck back from the paint shop. The 2 front screws had to be drilled out cuz they was rusted. The rest came out with no issues. They said get shorter screws cuz they will be too long. After 3 trips back and forth to home depot and no one knowing anything about screws, I simply filled the holes with clear silicone. Cheaper than the cost of screws and simple one and done process.
About to be doing this to mine but adding truck norris cam and gt45 turbo etc. What oil did you use to break in the new cam if anything special?
I love my 03 5.3 XL. Sure, it's not a Denali or a 4th gen LS, but she's still fun with the tow package (G80 and 3.73 2wd). I can't wait to do a 4L80 swap one day and force induct it. I have Tony's Snowflake 20" replicas too. She needs a drop though.
Yeah man the 6 cylinders are good. I really want a 4l80e for mine too. One day!
Two year update. I drive this thing quite a bit, road trips several hours away and it's been doing great! On the highway it gets about 19mpg at 70-75 mph.
Ive been watching your videos on it recently, I’ve recently found one for sale was wondering if it would be a good starter vehicle
@@Benfrank055 the DOD is the biggest issue on these trucks, but I'd say they are pretty good if you get a good example at a reasonable price. I still like mine and drive it quite a bit. I also like a Lexus gx470, they are nicer for sure, but command much higher pricing.
Please make more videos again. Your envoy is awesome !
I’m doing the same job right now on my Denali. Did you have to remove the condenser or is there enough room to snake the cam in? Why did you remove the oil pump?
I had to take it apart. You can see at 12:46 the cam almost touches the plastic bit behind the grill. Cam is pretty long! haha. I took the oil pump off because I changed out the timing chain the tensioner. Can't get the chain around the oil pump without taking it apart. Also I wanted to change the oil pickup tube oring. Sure enough, it was hard and BRITTLE! I basically touched it and it broke in pieces. I highly recommend you change it too if you're already in there.
I change out those oil pumps without removing the oil pan.
You're more of a mechanic than me, I couldn't do it with the bolt for the oil pickup
No startup footage? 🤦🏻♂️
How much did it cost you all together in parts
I spent a little more than I needed to since I did the performance cam, so it was $700-800 in parts
Can a hellcat engine fit in gs 300? That’s my new goal
Hey man I have all sorts of questions about this build, do you have instagram or Facebook that I can contact you on?
If you still need you can hit me up on instagram at turbo_LS_is300
Do you have to replace cam when doing a DOD delete? Or could you get by with buying non DOD lifters? Thanks for the great video 👍🏻
I believe you'll need to swap the cam too. I got a very small performance cam for mine, but I believe they sell a dod "conversion" cam that is basically a stock non dod truck cam that goes in there for pretty cheap, like $150. But if you're in there this far already then a cam swap isn't too bad.
A new cam is needed because the lobes on a DOD cam are ground to match the DOD lifters.the new non DOD lifters and cam are different
Hey man is there any way I can contact you via message, I have an 07 envoy Denali with the LH6 block and I just have some questions about the cam set up and also if you have any lowering kit on yours and more
Hey I love the build I recently starting my Ls swap on my is300 since I just finished my turbo 2j just wanted some insight on your build and the main think I wanna keep my other is300 auto so I wanted to know what transmission your running
Check out my newer videos, I built a whole new turbo kit and the car makes over 800whp now. For the trans I'm using a 4l80e, but you have to cut 4" out of each side of the trans tunnel. Worth it in my opinion but it's not for the faint of heart. I have a few pics of the underside of the car on my IG at turbo_ls_is300
Just bought a base model 08 TB with the 5.3. I literally wanted a TB with no options other than 4wd and the 5.3 and finally found one. All my friends are financing 70k-90k trucks and tease me for not wanting new trucks. But then when I build my trucks out they always swoon over it. Chevy has never made a vehicle exactly how I wanted so I build what I want. My 97 Tahoe 2dr Z71 has a 6.0/6L80 swap with 14 bolt rear and a front Dana from a 73 Ford F250. Its been line-x'd black on top and grey on the rockers like how it came but looks so damn tough. My friends never learn, I build what I want. I don't accept the "that's just how it comes" mentality.
I'll tell you what, I'd much rather get something for a few thousand and put a little work into it versus getting something that's gonna cost like $1k a month in a car payment for multiple years. Grats on the score. I was looking at TB with a 5.3 but they are so hard to find because the sellers don't even know what they have and you can't tell without a engine bay pic haha
Well, "base model" would have the "S" Vortec 4200 inline 6. You've that LH6 "M" vs. the older "P" LM4 5.3 gen 3 LS.
@@alexanderjones6383 well, base as base can be with still having 4wd and a 5.3. I'm working in deleting the dod and egr and decatting it now
Car is clean af. Props for the quality build.
Just to avoid confusion: you swapped toe and heel. Toe is in inside (closest to the axle center line) and Heel is outside. The final drive pattern is too much on the heel, it will roll off at the heel under load. Thanks for uploading.
Thanks for the input 👍
I have an 07 with 111k miles, the interior is in mint condition.. the red jewel metallic paint not so much because it has been sitting for 3 years, but after changing the fuel pump, new gas battery and fresh oil she purs again
Heck yeah, love to hear it. I've been driving mine a lot. Over 200k! The transmission is still holding on 😅
