I watched absolution. It was mediocre at best. New viewers won't know what the hell is going because they don't know the lore and it felt like a poor set up for veilguard (which has also flopped) and its story pretty much went nowhere. Besides that Meredith scene nothing really drew my attention

If the show doesn't reference events from the games, there will be a disconnect. They could just name it a random space show and would have as much meaning. Unless it takes place BEFORE Mass Effect. If the events of the original Mass Effect have started when this show starts, it's impossible to avoid referencing Shephard. I would love to see this show be First Contact Wars. Maybe even follow Anderson as he tried to become a spectre.

We don't. We let it fail, we ignore it and hope it gets forgotten. The best thing that can happen if a beloved franchise is getting adapted by any of those companies.

I think there's an inverse relationship that applies here. The better a game is at providing its player with a genuine sense of control over their destiny through the choices they make, the less effective (and relatable, for players) any TV series- with, by definition, a strictly linear narrative structure- is going to be. How do the games that adapted well to TV differ from Bioware's classic RPGs? In Dragon Age and Mass Effect, choices the player character make can have drastic repercussions on everything from the future branch points of quest structures to companion NPC character arcs, not to mention how the game universe and its entire panoply of factions will react to your PC thereafter. For both "The Last of Us" and (Bethesda's) Fallout Games, that simply isn't the case. Not that they aren't great games in their own right, but choices never have the same degree of consequentuality, not even close. In Fallout 3 for example, one of the evilest things you can do is nuke a town full of innocent people because some rich guy thinks it's an eyesore... and the most earth-shaking ramification of this is that your PC's dad expresses disappointment in you (as if you forgot to feed the fish) in a future cutscene. Compare how obliterating the Rachni, or choosing which companion to sacrifice on Virmire, has profound consequences throughout the trilogy. One corollary is that it's relatively easy to root for Ella Purnell's Lone Wanderer in the Fallout TV show, even if she's nothing like the character you played. But your Shepard is irreplaceable. As is your Hero of Ferelden, or Hawke, or even your Inquisitor. You invested too much of yourself into shaping who those protagonists were, for anything produced by a studio writers' room to feel in any way authentic. DA & ME originated as RPGs in the finest sense of the term. There's only one story in either of those universes that matters, and it's the one you called the shots in crafting.

I really disagree about it not being about Shepherd but with the show I would delve into his or her life before the game starts. The only problem is whether it will be a man or a woman. For that problem to be solved I think they should do a poll and let the majority rule. I tried watching Absolution but did not like it and where I think that failed was because the game you have a lot of choices for your main character. Since the show doesn’t allow that because of obvious reasons I think that’s where the disconnect came from.

The Collector base technically isn't a pointless decision because while it should've been a lot more important it does change a few lines of dialogue, and gives you ten more war assets if you keep it, rather than destroy it. Yes, it should've been MUCH more important but there is something. 2:40 I also have no idea why Miranda has no input on what happens with the data. Also, The Alliance didn't leave you for dead because they thought you were permanently dead, and there was nothing they could do. Finally, while it's implied (in ME2) that no one can decrypt the data before the series ends that doesn't change the fact that it's annoying nothing is done with it. Also, I feel like both this and the decision to destroy or keep The Collector base should've affected The Virmire Survivor's (Ashely or Kaidan's) trust score. Basically when standing off against Ashely or Kaidan in ME3 if you have negative points you will have to kill them, if you have 0-3 points you can kill them if you pick the neutral option but not kill them if you pass a paragon or renegade speech check, and they will automatically back down if you have 4 or more points. I feel like destroying the Collector Base and giving the data to the Alliance should've added to their trust points while giving The Collector Base, and data should've decreased it. Also, the score is unaffected if you either didn't do the side mission or kept the data for yourself. 4:12 It does change one minor line of dialogue in the second game where if you tried to kill Dr. Saleon he tried to join the Spectres, and if he tried to capture him he tried to rejoin the C-sec. Although, in the end, Garrus still becomes a vigilante.

I may also note that if you pick the paragon decision to send Veetor back to the fleet and make it so that Kal'Reeger doesn't fight you can get Tali exonerated without passing the paragon or renegade speech check at her trial (with the rally the crowd option). But it's more of a mistake to send Veetor to Cerberus rather than make Kal'Reeger fight because while it can be tricky, and you have to do it fast Ka'Reeger can survive if he fights. Furthermore, refusing to give the geth data to Tali in ME1 is a massive mistake because if you do she'll stop talking to you. It should also be brought up that killing the colonists at Zhu's Hope instead of knocking them out is also a renegade failure connected to Shiala. I think killing the Rachni Queen (on Noveria) should also be brought up because even if you let the breeder die she's worth more war assets than Aralakh Company. Also, how on earth isn't killing Samara and recruiting Morinth not on here? Samara isn't the best companion but at least she can be a war asset in ME3, and while Samara isn't the best companion Morinth gives Jacob a run for his money when it comes to how boring she is. There's also destroying Maleon's data which gets Eve killed, and I feel like at least one of these should've been brought up.

Nope, not buying it. Aged/dead companions? 100% calling that as scripted with no potential of differences. It's just a lie that it can be planned out to cover an entire lifetime for every companion for every planet to have lived and died. No chance.

I am not going to check out the trailer at all. I want to be surprised by it like I was by Mass Effect. I bought ME off the shelf at Best Buy all those years ago with no idea what it was about, and I have been loyal to it ever since. I just hope they don't destroy ME5 like they did Dreadwolf.

I just got the mission for the first planet and I still don’t care. Everytime I think I like it, a character says something that annoys me. The part where the lady says my face is tired, I just couldn’t continue.
