30 State, 7,000 Mile Road Trip (Episode 1, Catching Up)
It's been a long time since I've uploaded! In August, I will be embarking on a 30 state, 7,000 mile road trip around the US camping in my trusty Subaru Forester. I've never done anything quite like this, nor do I know anyone who has so I am doing this mostly on the fly.
I'm sxcited to see more of the country, and will document my journey for my future self, and for you all.
leave a comment! let me know where you're watching from, and any helpful tips you have.

    Thanks so much you just saved me about $47! The dealer wants $50 to change brake light. I bought the Sylvania 7443 last year for about $6/2 bulbs ($3 a bulb) from Amazon on my Legacy which was a lot easier to change out--access from inside trunk. This time my Forester needed a little more elbow grease. Your trick of using the belt was excellent which I didnt have, so I sub for a flat 1" wide rope (pajama's cord). And tape a flathead screwdriver with electrical tape. After removing the 2 screws using Philips which was easy, I pried the plastic casing with the flathead as you showed slightly, finnessed the rope in and popped that case out, changed the bulb etc all done in 20 minutes for an absolute novice and non-handy person like me, the satisfaction was enormous. Big thanks to you!!

    • @Explorer-pj1nx
      @Explorer-pj1nx 5 месяцев назад

      So it kinda depends! For sure it's better to use 0W-20, if I said 5W-20 I misspoke. In the short term you're 100% fine, I wouldn't sweat it until your next oil change. For me, my Forester burns a bit of oil, especially when it's hotter out here in New England during the summer or I'm running it long and hard. In those situations I might use 5W-20 because it's a little thicker and seems to not burn as much as the 0W-20, but generally I use 0W-20.

    the bulb you installed literally says H11 on it. why do you have H16 in the description?

    • @pedropabloj
      @pedropabloj 8 месяцев назад

      H11 and h16 have the same connector/plug. Usually h16 bulbs are used on many cars for foglights because they have less power (19 or 35 Watts) instead of H11 which are usually used in headlights lowbeams with more power (55W). Having said that, you can use h11 with no problem specially when upgrading to LED because Even with more light output than a standard hallogen H11 they usually consume less power (20-30W) so they are actually a better option. Hope this helps. H8-H9-H11 and H16 all share the same socket and plug connector and can be used. H9 usually is used for high beams (65W) for example. Hope this helps!
