K-Seal Liquid Gasket on an Rx8
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.4 года назад
The application of K-Seal on Rx8 Series 1. K-Seal and other liquid gasket sealers are NOT a smart first choice to repair cooling issues in vehicles. They can cause serious problems in the long run. This application is a last-ditch effort to squeeze miles out of an already condemned engine. The owner is saving up to replace it. We did what we promised, which was a complete in...

This is by far the best information for RX8 next to Rad Potential. I domt own an RX8 but I want to get one in the future.
Take the music off
Only for Series 1 RX8's. The S2 is a totally different car with around 148 upgrades and changes.
Premix on an s1 or not? I never have and its at about 135000ks (85000miles), but with that OMP chat I'm wondering if I should now? Or if it will be beneficial in an S1? comp is at 100 odd in both rotors
Great video; thanks. I'm considering doing this on the 06 Automatic Shinka that I recently inherited from my dad. I'm in the Houston area. I can do all the work myself (have built a car & have a 2-post lift in my shop). But I'm new to tye RX8 world. Any idea about what I'd need to plan for in terms of money and what to look for when doing that to source a good manual trans car for parts?
Great job ❤❤❤
Hey man I’ve watched all your videos on this manual swap and I’m interested to know is there any way we can get in touch over the phone I’m trying to gather help from anyone I can I started the swap and now I’m stumped pretty bad
What went wrong?
Operating temperature has zero effect on wear of your engine. As long as you have oil pressure you are good, when it’s colder it will run richer, this is not going to hurt your engine
Hello, I have this problem with my Rx8, it has an automatic transmission, is it the same procedure or is it different???
how do i get contact with this man
This dude knows nothing about rotarys.
Rip rx8 manual swap
There is an Australian rotary shop doing 14 pound psi on the standard RX8 motor.
Wow I never heard so much professional information in one video
Has anyone swapped a 4 port with a 6 speed? Is it possible? If not why is it not?
I’ve heard many folks say it is not possible. I’m here to tell you that the bell housing bolts are the same and all mounting points look the same. In the UK they do it so at this point I say that it should work. 6 speeds are just weaker than the 5 to my understanding
Being a rotary owner I enjoy stuff like this. Rotary’s are not hard to own. You have to love the hardships of owning a rotary. That’s the fun of it honestly. Owner of a 1989 Mazda rx7 fc gtus
Are y’all still active? I need a compression test and overheating help.
Ill be trying to DCT it instead
Onde comprar essas luvas ?
Hello RUclips, I'm going to move on to another platform now, good luck.
Great video. I watched until the end. Subbed and liked.
Hey man, I did the entire swap, I’m wondering, would I need the Automatic control module on in order for the car to be able to turn on?
I’m getting crank, spliced the wire to the firewall n to the clutch itself. It’s cranking. My main question is. WOULD I NEED A TCM
Thank you for this video! You’ve helped me narrow down the parts list for my 2010 manual swap. The last couple of minutes was exactly what I needed to hear and learn, as most posts I’ve seen seem to reference the S1’s only and don’t mention anything about what to do with the S2’s. Thank you again!
What are the wheel model on the RX8?
One of the best detailed rotary explanations, thanks guys, 2 years after you made the video and I'm still searching for this info. The only thing I thought was missing - streetports, there are very controversial opinions about them and we would love to hear your take on it 😊 Cheers and thanks again!
Great vid bud! I found out today just how different a 6port automatic vs a 6port manual rear iron is. The auto has a very different starter bolt-up configuration (bolts go into iron perpendicular to the iron, vs. the manual starter bolts up like the transmission does - longitudinally). I searched but no luck - is there any sort of conversion plate to enable using a manual starter on an automatic rear iron?
There’s no need for a conversion plate. The flywheel/trans combo decide that. You’ll just be missing the ear on the engine side for the starter, but that’s okay because the manual starter bolts to the trans not the engine. The only reason it would be necessary to make a plate for that part of the engine is to keep dirt out of that area. My manual swap utilizes an auto rear iron and I’ve had that hole exposed this entire time with no Ill effects. 25k miles on the swap so far.
@@darionfarina2069 much appreciate the detailed response! Hope it will help others too.

That's weird too, because almost everyone else who I've seen test their rx8s, had lower compression in the front rotor...
Had an RX7 turbo 1988. I drove it real hard like it was intended. Every single morning, i waited about 2 minutes after the engine started. Maybe more. Car was bulletproof. Nothing went wrong with it in 5 years and 75K miles.
Because things can burn quicker heater core, radiator.
Good vid y'all, i love the serious humour!😂
I am putting a 4port auto engine into another car with an old school auto that only has a neural and park switch. I don’t have a manual 4port harness and money is tight can I use the auto harness still? It will not be connected to the transmission at all. I’m just curious if using th auto harness would need anything to work or if I would still be able to start and run the engine?
I need information on my 2005 4 port Automatic. Will a 6speed transmission bolt up? What do I need to know ?
In the same boat. Buying a project car, but I want to swap the transmission for a manual while the engine is out
@@Tyufoe96 ask me in a week, we'll see how mine pans out.
and 9 days later (sorry i've been slack) yes, it will bolt up !

Any update on this vehicle?
Do the MT Rx8s have those tranny cooler lines too or nah?
You guys still working in Houston?
Boring
Thank god for your comment. So exciting.
Hello, i have an 05 mazda rx 8 192 hp and have problems with the cooling system, i start the car and it runs about 5 10 minutes, after the temperature gets up, i notice water fogs from the coolant recipient and the engine dies off....try it to start the engine again but will not start till the temperature goes down....i saw you told the problems that will come up with this and i will try to replace the thermostat, also i dont hear the fans to work....this happened after my engine has blown and replaced with another one now, hope will solve the problem...you was very helpful with the info👌
sounds like a blown water seal
Dude's a legend here
So much experience glowing out from this man! The part about running a business, so true. I may be young, but i can understand the "friends" part. I have learned in my young years what real friends are.
Thanks for this video, doing this exact swap. Question - the wiring under the steering it looks like you “T” ‘d into the wire vs cutting it and using only 1 end of the original wire? I am seeing this correctly? Looks like you also did this “T” splice under the fuse box? Please confirm
Rip Subaru gasket swap video
Let's not forget those trashy stock coils that fail constantly! That'll make for bad hot starts and lack a heck of a lot of hp.. On my second set now which is failing again so upgrading to the LS mod.
Don't go by that temp Guage it doesn't move past half way till it's too late
Coolant seals are less then a 100$ on ebay, that motor is easy to pull , I pull mine by myself, lift the car as high as u possible can, undo motor mounts and anything else attaching motor to body of car, unplug wires etc and drop the subframe in the front, 6 bolts and or nuts, the motor and trans will come down in the front
Is it really that simple? What kind of special tools are needed ?
Rx8 Owners are the chosen ones🤣
lmao a stock RX8 you legit can't get it to go faster than 154 and you have a lot of RPM's to go but it just will not go faster. It's abnoxious.
Your warming up idea isn't true at all. You will put more wear on bearings by placing load on them when the oil isn't at optimum temp.
Looking forward to you posting a video explaining your expertise and alternative perspective, since out of 30,000 viewers, you are among a super tiny percent of people who seem to know better. Lmk. Can’t wait.
Huge fan guys. Just recently bought a 09 rx8 and I was planning to manual swap and rebuild it, but it's a little out my knowledge range. Do y'all offer this? If so what's a rough estimate to get this done with you guys? Thanks!
I do mine, it may seem complex but this engine is just big Legos. A shop can get you a rebuild for prov 3 maybe 4k.
